Broken things after the last update [01-12-2016 ~toddler update~] «12345...Next Go

Hi! I don't usually post here but... well I identified things that aren't working correctly after the last patch.

- sims puts the food in the inventory after preparing the meals and they don't go to the table to eat.
- sims don't sit on the couch/sofa anymore to play videogames (they'll only do this IF you tell them to).
- smartphone covers return to their original color (green) after going to the map or going into buy/build mode or even taking a selfie.

- I removed the mods and repaired the game and the problems persist.


By the way, I'd like to thanks for this amazing update.

There's a problem with mouth synchronization! Sims don't open their mouth's to speak in most of talking animations! It's really frustating for me as a storyteller! They need to fix this!!!

I pretend they are all are mind readers they just hear the Voice of the people when they mind read. Like reading a quote from a movie start and you read it in their voice in your head..lol

With the other issues, try resetting your sims 4 folder and see if that helps. To do that, move your sims 4 folder ( that is in Documents -Electronic Arts - then the sims 4 folder is there ) to the desktop. Then start the game, and a new sims 4 folder will be generated. Exit the game and then copy back the "options.ini" or " options " file and the "saves" , "screenshots" "tray" "custom music " and "mods" folders from the desktop sims 4 folder to the new sims 4 folder, replacing the new generated file/ folders with the old file/folders from the desktop sims 4 folder

The standing while playing video games glitch also occurs when watching TV as well. I figured it was a bug, but I just ignored it because of the other bugs that are happening (which honestly seem to effect the game much more, in my opinion):

As others have mentioned, there's also a bug where the mouths of Sims aren't synchronized with their voices. So it basically looks like the Sims are keeping their mouths shut while talking. Sometimes their mouths do move, but it's delayed. I've also experienced the food inventory glitch. Sometimes my Sims will also actually grab a serving of food, but then decide to just place it down somewhere and not even eat it.

Another issue I've noticed is sudden drops in FPS. Sometimes the game will be running smoothly around 40-60 FPS (depending on where I'm playing), but suddenly drop to below 30 for a couple seconds. Then the FPS will shoot back up. This especially happens during the mornings and evenings (when the sunlight changes). The camera will also stutter for a couple seconds as this happens. The game will also freeze for a split second every once in awhile (especially whenever a Sim's emotion changes or if I'm switching between the relationships, motives, inventory, etc tabs).

Other than these bugs and issues, I love the toddlers patch! I just wanna be able to fully enjoy my game again without these problems...

Thank you @rosemow ! I Hope They fix this soon! I have a big sims series here in brazil called "Better Beware" that has 500K views per episode and really commited viewers! It would be really sad to delay the episodes with this bug! 80% of the talking animations they speak with their mouth closed.

Also I will add that the father sims of my toddlers who aren't living in the household, automatically come into my house, and stay there, with no action to ask them to leave.

Haven't had the chance to experience the second and third bug, but I've noticed the first one!

Another strange bug/glitch I've seen as well, is Toddlers receiving text messages.

Anyone else having a weird glitch with kids and the make-up vanity table since the update?

I don't use any mods. I do have the vanity table in my house, and I noticed when I started playing yesterday that the children in the family were randomly applying make-up to themselves while using the computer, and once when one was eating at the table.

The actions queue will show the computer task (or eating) and then suddenly the 'use vanity" action (or play with makeup, whatever it says, I forget, it's an icon of the vanity) appears above it and they start applying make up.

I'd been wondering why they were always going off to school looking like a bunch of clowns. Now I know. It's quite funny, but seems to be a glitch. And it's only the kids doing it that I've seen so far. Haven't noticed the adults do it and one of them is a programmer so he uses the computer a lot.

It's possible it was happening before the update, but I hadn't noticed it until yesterday, after the update.

After the update my sims can no longer adopt or propose. I tried repairing the game, closing and opening it again, nothing is working. Help!

With the adopting issue, move your whole mods folder to the desktop. Then start the game and test to see if that helps the issues.

With the proposing issue, have your sims use the "just be friends" interaction. Then build up their relationship again until they get the propose option.

I'm currently having a problem with a toddler that I just aged up to a child. They "mastered" the movement skill before I aged them up but they can't walk up the stairs as a child. I've tried reseting the sim, buying new stairs, deleting windows and what not, but nothing is working. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if they have if they found a way to fix it. I'm sure it's probably a bug from the new patch and hopefully it'll get fixed within the next week if there is no current solution for it now.

Repairing the game may help. To do that, right click on the sims 4 picture in Origin and click repair.

Yup same issue here. When Sims serve/prepare food, they put one serving in their inventory and do not eat automatically.
Have to go into the inventory and select the meal to eat it.

@cchant86 I can 100% confirm the vanity table bug. My Sims' son went to school like a drag queen . Also, it's not only happening in San Myshuno (like on your picture) but also in regular houses.

Random townies now walk into my house without knocking and make themselves at home. There is currently a stranger using my bathtub. I just locked the front door, so hopefully that helps.

I'm not quite sure if this is a bug but after the my sims kinda don't listen to me. I tell them to do something and they stand around doing nothing instead, or they walk around doing something else for ages after I've cancelled their current action. I was afraid my toddler would get neglected once when he was starving and I tried having the mother make him food but she was doing something else and when I finally had her go to the kitchen to prepare food she decided to put it on the ground and go do something else. and the weird thing is that there is no in-between; my sims are either doing everything they shouldnt or they're doing nothing at all (just standing still for ages. Don't they have hobbies???). They just spend so long getting started on the action I want them to do and I haven't really noticed until now.
