Oh well ... and hello, first off thanks to the people who are still looking at this thread.
But also, this is the third EA account I had to create: my actual EA account, the AHQ account (where I have to grind XP to be able to customize my account) and now this one for the Sims Forums (where I have to grind points and comments to be able to even slightly individualize my account). This is confusing and also annoying. (And no, I'm not a computer or web newbie.)
I fully understand that it's necessary to protect the boards against trolls and bots but this is way too complicated.
Also, the link to the Forum Rules in the Welcome Notification is still broken. I found the correct link but still... another user mentioned this already about six months ago! Would be nice if someone could fix this. Thanks and greetings.
I was just flagged about this issue and it's been resolved now.
Found a Bug? Let us know here. Having a technical issue with your game? Reach out to us here.
In order to be able to posts pictures and have an avatar, you first need to become a full member because as of right now you are considered a new member. New members are restricted from starting new threads, posting pictures and links, having an avatar or changing one, sending private messages to other members. In order to become a full member, you will need to have 25 points, 15 posts and an account older than 24 hours. https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/978073/new-members-guide-welcome-to-the-forums
For any New members who want to get their post/point count up, the best thing that I would advise you to do is to find threads that may interest you and join in on them or go to the Off Topic section and join in on some of the word/story games over there. The posts made over in the forum section will go towards your post count whereas the posts made on your wall and the Activity Feed doesn't go towards the total post count. The only thing that you will get if you should make any post over on your wall or Activity Feed will be any Insightfuls, Likes or Awesomes as they will go towards your total points count. Hopefully creating your posts on other threads will also increase your points... https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/categories
I would suggest for all new members to go and read the rules of the site before posting...
A link to Forums Etiquette, Warning/Banning Process and the Forum Rules... http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/categories/forum-rules
And I would also suggest reading the thread about necroposting as well as there is a rule about it in the rules section. I would also suggest checking the title of thread as well as the location of the thread since we have older Sims games sharing this forum. An example would be if you're a TS4 player and have an issue with the game, please check to make sure that they thread that you have brought up isn't a TS2/TS3. I have provided links at the bottom of this post for "New Members" to be able to posts their issues in. https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/983366/lets-talk-about-necroposting-🧟
The EA team has moved The Sims 4 Help Center section to the Answers HQ Forums now. The Sims 4 Help Center section on this forum is now "Read Only". So you will need to click on this link if you have any issues that you want to report to EA and hopefully get the help that you need... https://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/ct-p/the-sims-4-en
And for name changes, you can request them on @EA_Cade. @EA_Lanna will still be on the forums to help out when she can...
I am having an issue that I can't address with the forms anywhere but in a comment. It says I have 67points and have been a member since 2010, yet can not start new discussions or add a profile picture. Is there something I am missing somewhere? I can't make a thread to ask for help, because well...that's the problem.

Hello @bloodmun and welcome to the forum... You just need to make 12 more posts as you need 15 to complete the 3-part membership to become a full member. Once you reach 15 posts the membership status should change but if it doesn't, then log out of your account and back in for the change to take place...

How am I supposed to get likes? I just wanted to become a full member so I can add pictures to a building contest entry. I came from a Sims Discord I don't really want to just post inane stuff on a site I don't plan on talking in just to farm points to prove I'm a human or whatever.
Uh hello how do I become a member? Have the rules changed? I've been here for years and I have yet to get anyone to react to my content, I still have yet to post on here, I don't understand what to do.

I can't seem to be able to see how many points I have got? It shows nothing... is this something wrong with my side of things?
@Leila_ , there's an issue with the site not showing everything on our profile page properly. A community manager has already alerted Vanilla who is the site host about the issue but it hasn't been resolved yet. We haven't heard about any updates on the issue yet but I'm hoping that Vanilla is working on it as it's frustrating to not see what points people have or their joined date.

Hi there,
Ah! okay, thank you for replying it makes sense now,
@Leila_ if you go to your profile page you can check Reactions to see how many likes, insightfuls, and awesomes you've received on your posts. It won't be accurate though because it doesn't include points you've received for Badges.

Hey, how am I supposed to know how many points I have? I saw in a post earlier on this thread that it should be above/below badges on my profile, but, at least for me, there is no points option. I thought that maybe this was because I simply didn't have any points, but I can see that I have several likes, which supposedly generate points too so it can't be that. I can't send a picture because new member and all that, but there's simply no points line. So I was wondering if I was looking in the right place---has it moved from that section?

@tischidly, it's usually in the box below your profile pictures but the site has been having some issues with the profile format which for some reason has taken away the points and the joined date. So from what I can tell at the moment is that you have about almost 30 points as you get 2 points for your 1st comment, and 5 points when you get 5 Likes and 5 Awesome's as well as making 10 comments and 1 point for each time someone hits Insightful, Like or Awesome on your comments. So now you just need to wait for your 24 hours to come up from when you joined the website.

Hello @bloodmun and welcome to the forum... You just need to make 12 more posts as you need 15 to complete the 3-part membership to become a full member. Once you reach 15 posts the membership status should change but if it doesn't, then log out of your account and back in for the change to take place...
Hope this helps...
