  • For me, it's Hot Date. It utterly changed the game: before, Sims were limited to their houses, and the player was limited to a single neighborhood. Hot Date not only created a different world for players to go -- enabling all the expansions that followed -- but it allowed Sims TO GO there. And not only that, but it added…
  • "Have"?! Yes. "Can find and use"? Um.... :D With TS1, sure. I still have a notepad file with all of my disc codes written on it because I'm a data hoarder. TS2, not so much. I last had everything together 8 years ago, but it's multi-disc so I'm pretty sure I couldn't find it. This is why I don't have GTA III on this…
  • I noticed this the first time I launched after the most recent patch. Several of my packs were listed as available for me to buy, despite my already owning them, and when I tried to click on the button it I said I needed a paid-for version of Sims 4 to buy DLC! I relaunch and things were much better, but clothing from one…
  • I use MCC to remove the moodlet. :D
  • Extremely unlikely. Not one for jewelry.
  • Oh, lord. My "canon" Sim-self is from The Sims 2, and he outlived two wives because I was squickish about letting my "simself" die. I actually have a 'family photo album' from that save and like twenty years ago had a blog where I chronicled my original TS2 neighborhood. I've played my sim-self so many times in TS4 (I…
  • The last time I updated, I was playing a sim based on my favorite singers, Morgan Wade, who I followed from being a penniless kid in a trailer park with a guitar to making it big. I’ve continued following her family: Her daughters Becca and Elizabeth moved out to Chestnut Ridge to become ranchers. Elizabeth got her own…
  • The super subtle saucer. Everywhere.
  • THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for linking to that sewing machine. Can't wait to try it out tonight. I realize it's just a table, but it's nice to SEE.
  • My self-sim is always a Bookworm, Loves the Outdoors, and a Geek.
  • She has, but I always forget about those....ditto for watching the award shows on Sundays. :(
  • Definitely natural. I never play with supernaturals unless there's a ghost I want to de-deadify because they died for stupid ("hysterical laughter"?!) reasons.
  • The last time I posted, I’d made a sim based on one of my favorite musicians, Morgan Wade, and had her begin as a poor woman living in a trailer with nothing to her name but a guitar. She made her way to stardom by playing in bars and writing songs, and I wound up continuing to play her as she had a few daughters. I liked…
  • Could anyone improve on my Morgan Wade sim? She's available in the gallery as a base to work off of...
  • Set winamp to play some mood music or a podcast, make sure my water/coffee/etc is full, and then I'm off to the races. Same here -- in the morning on an off day, I might let myself play for as long as I nurse my first cup of coffee, but then I alt-tab out to be productive before returning.
  • Like the amount of Sims going around with cochlear implants. Wish there was a way to disable some CAS stuff from generating on its own so the player could just add it at appropriate levels -- or, in the case of some of the 'fashion' in TS4, not at all.
  • I have a Sims 2 in Sims 4 save that I found years ago, but it's out of date with all the new worlds. I don't know if it's the same creator or not.
  • I was going to do a legacy as Bob Newbie in which neither he nor his heirs were allowed to hold jobs, but honestly....Bob was making so much money from gardening and fishing that the challenge quickly disappeared. So, for now, I've switched to doing a playthrough based on the singer-songwriter I've been Obssessed With for…
  • I get that sometimes but it's just in the hundreds of thousands.
  • This is the 2nd part of a new legacy in which my heir and his house are not allowed to have a job. Last time, I introduced the challenge and had a small set-up story in which Bob Newbie flirted with Bella Goth, leading to Mortimer blacklisting Bob from working anywhere ever, and Betty leaving Bob and taking every single…
  • I have no idea why Nancy is so into Bob, unless it's just to make Geoffrey Jealous -- but she comes over to his house almost every day, she's become best friends with his wife, and before Bob met the new wife he and Nancy had a serious romance going on until I figured it made more sense, story-wise, that Nancy enjoyed the…
  • Thanks! I played some more after I posted that, and...well, let's say the fishing in Sulani was very good. He should be able to buy land before long....
  • I am starting a new legacy in which the challenge is: no jobs. Sims will have to build their legacy from $0.00 using only skilling objects, and I'm going to rule out painting/writing/videos for the first three generations to make it more difficult. Even worse, my sim will begin in an empty apartment instead of a plot of…
  • I left it running and actually was able to save. For some reason my game sometimes glitches out when I try to move sims in/out from live mode. In this case, I was driving to move Kaylnn in, but it would not let me do anything unless I moved Daniel OUT to move in WITH Kaylnn. But, because she was homeless, I just wound up…
  • This was my first attempt at creating rental cottages. Renters don't like them because there's not much in the way of interior furnishings, so I'm going to work on that. Another approach. This is a remake of a 'boarding house' I made for The Sims 1. It's been 20+ years and I was a kid, so I forget the exact floorplan I…
  • I am trying to get into For Rent. It has a learning curve! Had to watch people building apartments on YouTube to see how to create 'units' and such. My test sim has four cottages that he owns in another neighborhood and occasionally has to go visit them to fix things. They keep protesting but won't say about what: I'm…
  • Try being a landlord. I got For Rent but was wrapping up a legacy and there wasn't a way to integrate it into the story.
  • Ann > Galileo > Isaac > Hypatia > Galileo > Louisa > Jacqueline > Kathryn > Charlie > Sudha Being tutored by a rando After the unexpected death of Charlie, little Sudha coped as best she could. She hated being in the house where she'd seen her mother's body, so she avoided it as much as possible, preferring to play…
  • Ann > Jerry > Isaac > Hypatia > Galileo > Louisa > Jacqueline > Kathryn > Charlie > ...Sudha? The years passed, and Kathryn grew into her role as a agribiz tycoon, with Huang Ranch as her base. Sarabelle, the youngest, was the only one interested in the ranch, but she didn't have the drive of her older sisters. Ellie was…
  • Ann > Jerry > Isaac > Hypatia > Galileo > Louisa > Jacqueline > Kathryn > ....???..... Kathryn was curious and excited to be moving to Henford on Bagley while she finished her education. Although Jackie’s ambitions took her away from it, she often spoke fondly of her past life on the farm, and of course great-grandfather…
