I didn't expect to post in the positive thoughts thread, but I'm positively impressed by the fine tuning they allow us, like being able to reject a suggested family dynamic and quickly cheat-add/cheat-remove infant quirks. The only thing I'll need mods for is job loss and work place rivals (the first I want to decide myself and the latter I want to assign the rival manually).

Same, i'm very surprised to join this topic now that the livestream ended. It looked good and did reassure me. Now ... My only complaint would be that the new likes and dislikes (sim characteristics and conversation topics) needs to be hand picked manually and i think it can be a huge waste of time ... i don't want do that to each ones of my sims, i have around 100 sims per save files lol... i wish they sort of appeared naturally trough gameplay (without pop ups so it doesn't bork/lag the game).
Also there don't seem to be new traits which is very surprising, given how they're trying to deepen the social dynamics in this pack.
I will say, while I haven't officially watched the livestream and only hearing bits and pieces, the stuff I'm hearing is good so far and sounds like a pretty decent (albeit social heavy) pack. Lots of stuff that seem small on paper but in the long run could really help with the game and expanding certain aspects. As a family player I'm biased but it definitely is looking good to me.
My main concern however is that it's going to be SUPER buggy on release because it sounds like they're really overhauling a lot of stuff and I'd really hate to have to not get the pack cause it's a mess in performance.
All packs will undoubtedly have some bugs on release but I'm really hoping that it's not going to be super messy.
The builder in me is really happy to see all of those 30x20 lots. This world fits in fairly well with my expanded Del Sol Valley for S&D and that 64x64 lot would make a nice location for a movie studio.
I am honestly pretty excited. Like I thought I was ready for this. I've been prepping the save I want to work in. Before the update I'm gonna back it up. I forget how to, but Google exists. So I'll do that. And wait on my mod updates.
But I thought I was ready. I made a new couple. There are Several new newborns in the world with aging off. But my main couple is currently childless and awaiting a new baby with the update. I even got them a 4 bedroom. I think though, that I need to add another bedroom so that they can have a proper nursery decked out to the nines. Currently it's a toddler room. And there's a room for kids, and a room for 1 teenager. I was planning to thoroughly spoil the first born, and then send them through to their own room. Now I think I will add more rooms. Their parents are rich and famous anyway, they can afford it. All the new things we're getting, just in the base game are enough to make me want to redecorate.
Check out my posts in the Ideas corner, and see the Simsverse living inside my head.
I wonder what happens with existing newborns as they changed them to have their genetic skintone and eyecolor and to move differently etc. - are they automatically changed into the new newborn-version and what if they have a custom skin? Will this mess up their genetics when aging up to an Infant? This will probably break custom skins too.
Good to see children getting a bit more use out of their arts and craft table with being able to make a friendship bracelet on it too.
Just like the fact that the life stages that are usually a bit more lack luster are getting more things with them. Children and elders definitely have more things to do and more fulfilling things for them. Children with losing a tooth, learning to ride a bike, and bringing home first day at school drawings along with being a grandparents favorite. Then elders can spoil their grandkids, have authority of the keepsake box, and better socializing between other elders and their family. Also more mature clothing for them. Have a lot of things in game that work very well for them between packs, but with more conservative clothing directed for them is great.
Least they aren't just a much older adult sim that will be dangerously exhausted from woohoo and exercising. Powerwalking is a nice alternative for them to keep fit and not bite the big one.(though wishing you can do it elsewhere besides that world)
The Growing Together pack looks amazing. I love the idea of milestones/(memory) system... I know they didn't call it the memory system, its just the way I look at the time-line, and compatible likes and dislikes... This in itself will motivate me to play a sim from childhood to the end of its life, just to look back on this time-line and see all they've accomplished. As long as all systems in the pack work the way it should, I'm certain that I will form some sort of connection to my sim as these features (should) make them feel alive. The infants look very well made and I am gah gah over the temporary stay. Now in-laws truly matter and more holidays will be celebrated in my game.

But the rest, from what we saw, was pretty nice.
I was so happy to see that.
I wanted Discover University to bring such a feature. I hope my sims acquire additional traits by the end of University.
Me too, I will watch it again

Or perhaps a wedding area. Will they let us throw weddings there? It is great to have a multi-purpose lot, especially in small worlds.
Edit. Oh, it has a playground, too. I can go ahead and expand it, too!
