1950... So here we are now into the 50's. We begin the journey with death, birth and War.
Speckles Death Roll... A great companion joins the others over the Rainbow Bridge.
John Damme II, or junior is born. As the first born and first born son he will be the heir.
The Korean War begins. Those sent to War are... John Sr., Thomas, Edward, Bucky, and Peggy
Arthur marries Molly
Susan Johnson turns into a Toddler
Sophia turns 30 and they are expecting baby number 2
Amalie turns 50 and Family visits.
Patricia Rogers becomes a teen
Remy ages up
I am looking forward to the 50's and some style changes. Most everyone will be getting upgraded wardrobes. I will also change the life span to long as I won't be playing with every family. I will keep tabs on them as the game progresses but I will only keep the heirs from the 1st generation children as active households.
The 50s had a lot going on...
People moved into the suburbs due to the big baby boom
Around the mid 50s, the Civil Rights movement sparked the coming decade
Cold War had thousands of Americans losing their jobs, families and friends in the anti-communist “Red Scare”
Pop Culture influences now that the average family could afford a television to not only watch those movie starlets but they could also see their favorite musicians perform as well.
1951... Birthdays, Births, Companion Love, and Vacation
Just a small update
Lewis and Frank turn 50. Last of the 1st gen now in their elder years.
Michael Wellington is Born
Juniper Death Roll... lives
Mimi Death Roll... lives

Betty (Ruth's Triple youngest Girl)
Mary's Crew (Ruth's First Born)
Anna
Lewis
Delores is expecting...
Frank
Edward (frank's first born)
Until 1952... This family keeps growing and growing.
A possibly big year. A couple of births and birthdays mainly and special occasions.
Cate Johnson aged to 30 and Gary Johnson was born.
Charles King was Born.
Abe and Dolly become Elders. I love the pets in this game.
Mimi and Juniper DeathRoll number 2... Mimi lives while we say goodbye to Juniper.

Whom he has formed an attachment to. But he is nervous to tell his parents and doesn't know if he ever will.
Just a little Get Together between the Cousins.
Warren ends the night alone.
Warren's story is just truly beginning. While he is still out on his own he is young and enjoying the single life of the 50's. Next up is 1953. The end of the Korean War is near and we shall see who returns home and who doesn't.
@Kellogg_J_Kellogg I'm thinking more toward bobby sox. Rock Hudson is a favorite actor of mine and I did want to incorporate some inspiration from his life while staying true to the times or decade lived in. So my Dean Rock is a mix between Rock Rudson and James Dean.
@DeafSimmer Aren't they. Put of the Sim games the Sims 4 has my favorite in regular to cats and dogs. I absolutely love them on this game and it's the first Sims game that I've actually played more with them in. I guess I would be considered an Old Simmer as I've been playing since 2000. But this is also the first time I've ever attempted a Challenge and I am loving this one.
1953 and 1954... tried to fit in 1955 but didn't get enough play time in.
The following years our soldiers come home, we experience some losses, and our third generation babies start to age up.
1953...
We start the year off with Ernest Wellington turning 30. He is the only child of Anna and Nate.
Then we move on to Mimi Death Roll... Sadly she passes away
Last we had seen of Warren was his fling with Evelyn turned out to be more than what he bargained for. After they had called it quits Eve wound up pregnant and baby boy Steven was born. She confided in Nancia McDermott (the wife of Robert) and Nancia turned mediator for the couple.
Warren let Eve move in with him, after all it is his baby and he wants to do what's right. He just wasn't ready to settle down.
When he finally told his parents Lewis and Amalie, they were less than thrilled of the circumstances and Lewis demanded Warren marry Eve to make it right. So he did just that with a quick shotgun wedding.
David Damme turns a toddler... (he is the grandson of Frank Damme)
Korean War ends...
There was one final mission left for John and Thomas. As they headed out on their flight plan they were bombed down. Thomas was killed in action and John managed to make it out the wreckage.
But it would be a long trek back to the border and he would have to evade capture. He managed to do so and was very happy to see Edward upon his return. It was then with sad news he told Edward of what happened to his brother Thomas.
When John returned home it was late at night and he was greeted by his father Lewis. Then Margie ran out very happy her husband had returned home. He got to see his boy and took to being a family man not wanting to miss any moment he had with them. Margie became pregnant with their second child.
Edward returned home greeted by his daughter Suri and DogMeat. He ran inside giving Chiyo a big kiss. As soon as he had a chance he went to his father. He told him of Thomas, in which Frank had already known he just didn't know any details of it. They held a funeral though no body was recovered. Frank was devastated. He lost a child and there was nothing no one could do.
Charles King turns toddler... (son of Delores and Heath, grandson of Lewis and Amalie)
Edward turns 30. (Oldest son of Frank)
Rye becomes an elder. (this is Frank's cat)
Gary Johnson becomes a toddler... (youngest son of George and Cate, grandson of Ruth and Paul).
1954...
David Hughes becomes a child. (He's the son of Betty and grandson of Ruth and Paul Johnson).
James Wellington becomes a child. (Grandson of Anna and Nate).
Peanut ages to adult... (Delores's Cat)
Mary's Triplets turn 18. Barbara (center), James (left), Richard (right) (Grandchildren to Ruth)
Carol Rogers becomes a teen. (She is daughter to Dorothy and Steve Rogers, grand-daughter to Frances and Maximus. I love the genetics in this family. You can tell they're related).
DogMeat becomes an Elder. (Edward's Dog, now his daughter Suri's dog)
Steven Damme becomes a toddler... (son of Warren. Warren has become a great father and he and Eve are actually getting along, though he still likes to get out and hang with friends staying out late).
George, Virginia, and Betty turn 30. (Ruth's Triplets)
Paul Johnson passes away at the age of 63.
Susan Johnson becomes a child... (eldest of George and Cate, grand-daughter to Ruth and Paul).
Teresa Damme is born... (daughter to John and Margie, grand-daughter to Lewis and Amalie).
Delores becomes pregnant with baby number two.
In addition did a bathroom upgrade to the main household. It hasn't been upgraded since 1910. They put a shower tub in and decorated.
Coming halfway through the 50s Up Next. And at the end of 1955 the Vietnam War begins.
Welcome to the mid 50s. Life is moving on for this family and things may be moving a little to fast for me. I love them all. But a las we have to say "Until next Time" for a few as this family gets larger and larger.
1955...
Sadly the year starts off with Death. Say goodbye to Nathaniel Wellington. Though he was a doctor and one would've thought he would live beyond the age of 65, I guess it was just his time.
Deborah King is born.
And then there were a couple days where there was no birth and no death so I played with the main house for awhile and progressed some stories... Warren vents to his mom about being tied down then stay out till 4 in the morning, not sure how Eve will like that (to be continued).
Checked in on Octavia and William's Family. Ol Sergio has apparently become an elder (which makes me wonder, how old was he when they got married? Wow MCCC, just Wow). Raelyn also moved from home and got married.
Virginia finally moves out. And man was she happy about it. After growing up with such a large family and never having a room to herself well this 30-something finally gets an entire house to herself. Upon her move she runs into and old beau, Bucky Barns, who is now married to Peggy. After Thomas passed Bucky was all Peggy had left and in her grief the two began to see each other and got hitched. But this didn't diminish Bucky's feelings for Virginia and the two began their torrid affair.
Patricia turns 18. She moves out and asks Barbara to live with her. The two move to Del Sol near Donald Johnson, so at least they know someone and have family near by. Barbara begins to date Jack Emerson, a rising politician and Patricia falls for the musician Vinny Burns. Together the girls just live it up.
1956....
After Barbara moved out so did the boys Richard and James. Off they all are starting their new lives. (I will check in on them time to time but for now they are living life on their own. This is where I wish we had story progression but MCCC manages it and we'll see how their lives flourish or don't.)
Virginia enjoying that alone life. She gets a visit from Betty, and oh my goodness... Virginia sure has put on some pounds. At least that her story for now.
Johns (our heir) kids age and we just hang out with the family for a bit.
John II Damme turns into a child
Teresa Damme becomes a Toddler
Abe and Dolly have Death Rolls and they both live another year or 2 since I forgot to roll again in 1957.
Abe
Dolly
Twins Linda and Michael become teenagers.
Deborah King becomes a toddler.
Arthur becomes an Adult.
Barbara marries as we say adieu...
Patricia and Vinny. We wrap the year up with these two love birds living together unwed in the 50s.
Next Up 1957 and 1958. Possibly 1959 pending on time. So @Kellogg_J_Kellogg if you got some cool 60s CC go ahead and send it my way. As soon as 59 hits out with the old in with the New...
Well, thanks to work I only made it through 1957. But this was a big year for Civil Rights was brought before legislation in which it established that the justice department and federal prosecutors investigate against interference with the right to vote as well as a federal Civil Rights Commission authorizing investigations into discriminatory conditions.
1957...
John turns 30
Mike Wellington becomes a child
Twins Karen and Kathy Johnson are born. Shortly after giving birth a fire breaks out. Virginia then knew she was gonna need help. Specially having twins. She invited her mother over in which the pair exchanged words with Ruth judging her daughter quiet harshly. She couldn't believe her child would not only have a baby out of wed lock but would do this with a married man. Ruth was highly disappointed in Virginia, but she helped her manage the twins. They are her grandchildren and she will be there for them as long as she can. Ruth also encouraged Virginia to tell Bucky and to let his wife know. Virginia was not keen on that idea and told her mother that she'll do it when she's ready to.
Donald Johnson turns 30 and he and Dean move into a new home. He has a new movie coming out and becoming a great star.
Mark Damme is born.
Civil Rights Act begins in legislation and while the discriminatory side will arise in 64, our Don Johnson is already set in support of his friends and this movement. He looks to his uncle Frank for advice. Frank tells him that he should support his friends by what he feels is right and to do so in a way that respects the person. He invites his co star and comedian friend Wayne Duboise to have dinner with him and Dean, and the sweetheart of the screen Amy out to lunch. Don figures maybe the best way to show support is by getting to know his friends better and hanging out with them more. They dine at the famous and exclusive Starlight Black Bowler then head off to the Vaudeville for some after hours fun. Don runs into Pat and Vinny who is also on the rise in the music industry.
I know it's been a while since I last posted. I haven't really had a chance to update my mods and really get into playing. I guess I'm gonna wait for those summer patch updates to come out then update my mods and get back into the game.
Unfortunately right now, like so many, we are short handed at work, and I'm having to catch on call (which is after hours emergency calls for Animal Control) for 2 weeks straight every 2 weeks, so on my days off I'm so tired I just sleep and when I'm not sleeping I'm tending to my 3 year old or catching up on cleaning the house since I've been working so much. It's getting so bad that I'm actually looking for a different job, which makes me very sad because I love the work and love helping the animals, just can't keep doing it by myself as both my co-workers have found new jobs. Working an animal shelter as well as going out on calls and trying to help Rescue so these animals can be saved is very hard both mentally and physically.
I promise I will get back to it as I love this game and love this challenge. Just have to get the time to play. In the meantime I've been trying to keep up with @Kellogg_J_Kellogg Sims 66, love the story, and seeing what's going on with updates and new info of the Sims. Looking forward to the new pack and hoping I'll have the time to play when it comes out.
1958...The year starts out with many Birthdays... Many of the 2nd Gen are turning 30 as the 1st Gen start DeathRolls.
Charles King becomes a child.
Gary Johnson also becomes a child.
Twins Karen and Kathy age up to Toddler. Their dad Bucky visits often. He and Virginia still carry on their affair as Bucky remains married to Peggy.
Margie turns 30. She is the wife of John our heir.
DogMeat has a death Roll and lives... His death day came on Halloween.
Abe and Dolly have Death Rolls and they live...
Abe
Dolly
Twins Warren and Delores turn 30. John visits them and hangs out with the family.
Mark Damme ages up. He's the child of Edward and Chiyo. Chiyo also had a birthday at the beginning of the year, she turned 30.
We also celebrate Veteran's Day. John gathers some of his fellow soldiers in remembrance of those who have fallen.
1959... Death, growing up and getting makeover's. I do start to give some families that were aging up their 60s style. Thank you @Kellogg_J_Kellogg for the links I downloaded some great stuff. I love looking at CC and their is so much awesome finds for this era.
This year starts off on a sad note. Maximus McDermott passes away. He hadn't been feeling well for quite some time. He woke Francis up in the middle of the night. He fell out right at the base of the stairs in the bedroom as they were rushing to get to the hospital. Ol' Grimm came and Max passed of old age, he was 68 years young.
Steven Damme, son of Warren and Eve becomes a child. Warren got promoted to Harbor Master and aside from helping his brother with the family fishing boats he now manages the docks. He is teaching his son to fish. He still hasn't quiet fell in love Eve despite the years they've been together, but he adores his child and would do anything to see Steven live a happy life. But Warren drinks heavily and when he's not at work or home, you can find him at the bar.
Warren's Household Makeovers...
Twins Joseph and Jefferey become toddlers.
Joseph
Jefferey
Frank's household makeovers... Molly also turned 30 this year.
Carol Rogers turns 18. In addition to their own makeovers Francis also got a kitchen Makeover. It was also time for Abe and Dolly to have another Deathroll but I skipped it since they lost Max early in the year.
Francis Household Makeover's
Sayuri becomes a teen and Dogmeat has a Deathroll but he lives another year.
Edward Household Makeover's
Yay, woohoo, Louie Louie and Sugar Sugar... Here comes the 1960s.
I will go ahead and update everyone's style though, I believe style of the 60s really went through a series of changes between the High Fashion of Jackie Kennedy to Beach Party with Frankie and Annette to Space Age to the beginning of the Hippie Era. I did lean more toward late 60s style so the change over into the 70s won't be so heavy as the 60s are. I also listen to decade era music that I'm playing in and the 60s is one of my favorite in Music so definitely looking forward to it.
I will be pretty busy with work over the next 2 weeks as I'm on call again but I will do my best to get in some gameplay so I can share how the Damme Family story is coming along.
On sixties fashion...which I've become an accidental expert in since beginning Sim 66...You're looking at two distinct eras: 1960-64 and 1965 onwards. That early part is defined by the Jackie Kennedy, Chanel suit look. The skirts and dresses become more tapered and men's suits become slimmer fitting. I find that period of fashion and the whole look of the early 60s to be quite creepy. The beehive hairdos with tons of lacquer, the overemphasised upper eyelashes and stiffness don't flow like the 1950s or how the late 60s turned out. Films like Lolita and Whatever Happened to Baby Jane plus a lot of the late black and white TV of that time gave the decade a slightly sinister, creepy look. From 1964 in the UK and 1965 in the US things started to free up and even the even more overemphasised make up didn't look creepy, it looked fun and playful. That's a big reason why Sim 66 takes place from 1966 onwards; I wanted a more fun, upbeat and playful looking setting.
You can keep the late 60s look going into around 1973-74. The mini skirt doesn't vanish off the fashion scene until '74 (it comes back in 81-82 and stays around even to now) and you can mix and match long, short and in between from 1970 until then. No man will have short, cropped hair from 1970 to the end of the decade...unless they become a punk rocker in 1977. But that's all a long way away from 1960.
I think the fashion in the 60s and 70s makes really fun to play with, and in 1971 with the new hotpants are incoming. Well the 1890s made fun too, I've found a nice sewing/history clothing channel on youtube because of that researching. As far I've read the skirts were shortened at the beginnings of the 60s every year around on 1cm until it reached its minimum (?). But one bad thing came with this new style of fashion, in earliers time it was just your dress which was jugded, and not how thick you are, thickness was a sign of wealth. With the new fashion, the pressure on girls and women to look very sexy and therefore very thin, with all bad health consequences. Also much of this fashion is very uncomfortable to wear, but hey, you are looking sexy, that's all what matters since then. But one thing is really missing in the game, that are the sideburns of the 60s and 70s. I wish we had those.
1960... Before we dive in to this decade I wanted to give them their makeovers. I have learned that there is a big style difference between the early 60s and the late 60s. So there is a mix of styles throughout the families.
First born Francis and Family.
Dorothy Rogers...
Dorothy's oldest, Patricia eloped with Vinny Burns and is expecting.
Dorothy's youngest Carol...
Robert McDermott
Second Born Ruth Johnson and Family.
William (Paul's oldest) & Jane Johnson
Mary (Ruth's oldest) & Connor Shelton Family.
Mary's Triplet's...
James Shelton
Barbara Emmerson
Richard Shelton
Triplet's...
George
Virginia
Betty
Youngest, Donald Johnson and his partner Dean Rock. Dean earned his celebrity plaque. There was a very large crowd and some even passed out right at his feet. He didn't let it distract him, despite the naked woman running around.
Third born Anna Wellington and Family
Anna's only child Ernest
The Twins... Lewis and Family
With the new pack they finally got some chickens and an actual cow.
So I got a little game time in this past weekend and continued my decade's story.
1960 Continued... Only had two events for this year. A birth and a Birthday.
Lisa Burns is Born. She is the daughter of Patricia and Vinny. Dorothy and Carol came to visit after the birth. Carol was having a teen mood and throwing a tantrum, but she loved meeting her niece.
Teresa ages up... part of our third generation, daughter to John Sr. and Amalie.
Had forgotten about Biscuit and he was now 21 years old. Pet deaths are always the hardest for me. I love them. Biscuit is the fur baby of Anna
This will conclude 1960.
1961... full of so many events, it took all weekend to get through the year, which is 4 sim days. Birthdays, Birthdays, and more Birthdays.
Robert McDermott's family. Marie had aged up and this is their updated look.
David Hughes ages up to a teen... he is the son of Betty and Henry Hughes and the grandson of Ruth. George and Viginia came to visit. They are Ruth's triplete's.
Next is James Wellington Birthday. He is the son of Ernest and Sophia, grandson of Anna. After biscuit's death, Anna treated her grandson James to a new puppy. They named him Porkchop, he's a yorkshire terrier. He is a lot like his grandmother and loves animals. In true fashion of the Wellington way, they went all out for his birthday.
1961... continued. Since I took a lot of pictures I'm separating them into each sim day.
Deborah King ages up. She is such a cutie. Daughter to Delores and Heath, grandaughter to Lewis Damme.
Warren came by for a visit. Him and Delores are twins.
Peanut also ages up to elder. She is Delores's cat.
1961... continued
Mary's twins age up. Linda and Michael Shelton. They are the grandchildren to Ruth. She came to celebrate their 18th Birthday.
1961... continued, while we had some birthdays we also had a few sad deaths. The year did not end happily.
Susan Johnson ages up. She is the daughter of George and Cate, grandaughter to Ruth.
It was the end of the year and Patricia and Vinny went out for a Rockin New Years' Eve Bash. Vinny has built up quite the fan base and is on the rise as a rock musician.
Lisa Burns becomes a toddler. She is the daughter of Vinny and Pat.
Unfortunately, it was time for some Pet Death Rolls.
Dogmeat is at the age of 16. He has been Edward's constant companion since returning from war. He sadly did not roll to live another year.
Abe and Dolly are both 18. Luck was not on either of their sides this rollout. Abe had gotten sick and needed to be seen by the vet. Frances took him, even though she knew it was time for him to pass on. Saddened, she stayed with him until the end. When she returned home, she had found Dolly heartbroken who passed shortly after.
I apologize for the long periods in-between play. I wish I could play more like I use to, but when life throws you curve balls you adjust your stance and swing as best you can. Happy Simming and hope you enjoy this brief update to the new decade.
Great to see this back and running. I recognise some of that great 60s cc but I particularly like young master King's yellow pattern shirt. I'm always on the look out for 60s cc for kids, where's that shirt from?

1955...
1956....

1957...
Joseph and Jeffrey Damme are born.
DogMeat death Roll and he lives another year.
David Damme becomes a child.
Until Next Years... 1958 and 1959

Until Next Time...

1960 Continued... Only had two events for this year. A birth and a Birthday.
Warren came by for a visit. Him and Delores are twins.
Peanut also ages up to elder. She is Delores's cat.
1961... continued
1961... continued, while we had some birthdays we also had a few sad deaths. The year did not end happily.
