But the double whammy of mislynch plus night kill with no recourse other than our one blind lynch chance, it does seem tipped in mafia's favor.

Yup its 2:7 . 7 town 2 mafia. The king and guard are mafia. The 7 remaining are town. The king doesn't know who the guard is. town loses when they have 2 or less people left. The town win if they lynch the king i hope this has cleared up some stuff for people

As I see it, we have exactly 3 chances to lynch correctly and if we don't get it right the third time, town loses. Is that right?
It is. At first glance, the game does seem like it’s in mafia’s favor, but then you realize that the town wins if we lynch 1 specific person. That seems pretty easy to me, and we hopefully have Dekay, so I’m sure we’ll win this time.

Without a PR, it’s going to be quite difficult sniffing out the mafia. By the way, since we only need to lynch the king, it does not matter if we lynch the guard, right? But knowing the guard would be useful since he/she knows the king and would therefore protect the king from being lynched. If his/her identity is revealed, it would be easier to find the king by making connections. Is that right?

The days are 24 hours and the nights are 12 hours, I think. I wish it was like Nerd’s mafia game where nights were 24 hours too. The game just feels so stressful when it’s only 12 hours because I have to constantly check this thread all the time.

nope. the king doesn't know who their guard is. The guard DOES know who the king is though, they don't have contact.
