Green_Girly100 - Love the biohazard suits and the '60s vibe.

PhoenixRyder - NO pics yet, so I can't comment, but you also forgot to put the final cost.

DrygonBlade - The fountains at the front and the pool were great. Love the multilevels, but I have to admit that my favorite thing was Pandora.

Tifferoo11 - The waterfall and bridge are beautiful. Love the courtyard plants and pics. I really liked the main bedroom and bathroom too.

Wow, I am in agreement with Lionpaws. Where did you find the bio-hazard coveralls?
I really enjoy how your builds are ALWAYS well put together and are CONTINUALLY expanding in {growth]. Phenomenal job! I, as a judge, really feel you should consider moving up to the next level.

LOL. Thank you! My "co-builder" was rough on me. She is very scheduled. (only 13 wks as of 7/17/12) If I am up past 11PM (unless we are playing fetch...) she just PLOPS her entire "BODY" across my arm/wrist and WILL NOT MOVE. (PERIOD)(O-filled in dark)(PERIODA) Then, at that point, it pretty much stops anything & EVERYTHING I may be doing! (I was really hoping that someone/anyone-would appreciate the "irony" of my situation.) Thank You for seeing it as it was!

On the first page of the Challenge Tread scroll down close to the bottom of the page. There you will find the following:
    Screenshots: Tips and Tricks

"Since judging will be based on screenshots, we figured this would be a good time to go over some tips and tricks in taking good screenshots to help showcase your lovely builds.

    1) Camera Man Mode - This is a must in taking good shots! You will have to be in live mode to do this, but just hit "TAB" to enter this mode. Once you are in this mode, you can use the mouse to freely control the angles and use "W, A, S, D" buttons to move forward, backwards, and side to side. "Z" zooms in, "X" zooms out. "Q" moves up and "E" moves down. "C" to capture the shot.

    2) Find the perfect angle - With photography, it is all about finding the right angle. Spend some time in camera man mode to find the perfect angle. Get down to a sim's point of view to take the best shots of rooms.

    3) Walls up - Most people play with walls cut away, but when you are taking pictures of your lot, try to keep your walls up to make your shots look more realistic.

    4) No grids - Unless you need to show the grid for a specific purpose, make sure no build/buy grid is visible when you take your pictures. You can avoid this by taking pictures in live mode or by hitting the terrain paint button in build mode.

    5) More is better—Weird, huh? But in this case, we want to make sure judges have enough shots to fairly judge your lot. Be sure to show off each room with at least one picture. Also, please include an overhead shot of the floorplan for each level.

Ok, those are the basics! If you want to further your simatography skills, we highly recommend you visit for more tips and tricks and to see some excellent shots taken by professional simatographers!"

If you need more help, JUST ASK! There isn't anyone involve in the B&S Challenges that would not take the time to help you with ANYTHING you have questions about!!!!!

HAPPY SIMMING! AND PLEASE...FEEL FREE TO ASK ANYTHING!

How did you get the fish into the basement?
I tried to build an underground pond but the game wouldn't let me :(
Thanks for the nice words Lion Paws!

 I also tried to build an underground pond, with no success. In the end I opted to make one of my Sims insane, which allows him to fish in a pool! I did use spwaners in the pools and I think he was catching the types of fish that I spawned.

    8) To Drygon.... wow lovely words, I'm most appreciative
I made the biohazard overalls by just adding the pic to the existing grey coveralls using photoshop and TSR workshop (I think they are a career item). Thanks for the advice re my entry levels. I use sooo many cheats on every build and now that I can do some 2d cloning/CC I have decided to change to advanced....

I haven't had an opportunity to check everyone elses entries yet, this build was VERY intense... I had multiple crashes and ended up uninstalling and reinstalling Diesel, and all my store content :(

Good luck to everyone else, I'm off to view and rec all your builds!!!!!

The next challege look fascinating, a great leveller! but I think I'll be missing this one, I'm taking a break making a music video for Septmber's SIFF

see you all soon though 8)

Haha! You called your shelter 'Fort Knox' too!
It just jumps at you ... Love it!
    Very spaceous nice place.

Yesterday I finally found time to look at all the great uploads and left recommendations.
Donnagnocchi, JoubertCG and now shadowsims, you earned a big mental rec from me.
Everybody did such a nice job.

    Good luck and happy simming
    lionpaws

    Thanks lionpaws!
I was struggling with what to call this build and 'Fort Knox' just jumped out at me last night.
I really like building spacious houses; it always leaves room for later expansion or change without it being a big thing and I just like spacious houses. Seems to be my downfall when it comes to these challenges, however. I tried to heed some con-crit advice from one of my previous builds and used rugs as well as different flooring patterns to break up the open space this time though. Really pleased with how it, and everything really, turned out.

My build was heavily based on a house in the TV show Eureka (one of my fave shows) called S.A.R.A.H. She is a futuristic house that was converted from a fallout shelter called B.R.A.D. She is the coolest house EVER. (She even has a robot boyfriend who is the Sheriff's Deputy of the town of Eureka. :D) I'd been wishing for a build challenge that would give me an excuse to build her and finally this challenge came along.

Sadly, I haven't had time to look at any of the other builds yet. I've been sick the past several days and had a hard enough time just preparing my entry form and the media needed for it in time for the deadline. I'm very much looking forwards to looking at them all though.

anniepks - Thanks for catching that, I was racing like CRAZY to get it done! LOL The granny square pattern is in my studio, I made it with several size variations. I used one granny square image and turned it into a sticker to use in the CAP tool. Its one of my favorites. There is a link to the wallpaper that I used with the trees, its actually 8 wallpaper tiles.

When you said, the glass 1/2 wall upstairs for windows, did you mean on the roof? If you did, all I did was use the glass fence and just adjust the roof to match the height. I actually just did it a few days ago on another sims house and I just loved it. If you look at my original build you will see that the idea was for a cabin but that roof I made the other day inspired me so I decided on a modern look for the above ground home.

I have not looked at everyones builds yet but this job was so challenging I hope everyone had a great time with it!

Bear with me I just took a peek at all the entry's for the Fallout shelter and I have everyone in one post....

DrygonBlade : I loved your use of the fish tank windows in your pool area. Charlie looks like he will have a lot to do and enjoy while he spends time underground!

Tiferoo11 : Your main home is compact but cute and well thought out, I especially love your seating area near the front door. I also liked your idea to have the entrance to the shelter be from the lab, the chain link fencing is just perfect. ZOMG your courtyard is so beautiful! Kudos on that! Did you go shopping at TSR? Wink wink*

shadowinsims : First off, I like the junk piles. I think you might want to landscape the terrain a little so there is a little feature to the terrain. I think that helps with getting the terrain paint just right. However all bets are off on your interior design....Charlie's place is just fantastically modern and spacious! My favorite part of your build is your kitchen...I want a kitchen like that....

Green_Girly100 : Nice job on this one! I kept thinking...retirement home extravaganza as I viewed your slideshow. These elderly Sims sure know how to party! My favorite area is your working level...It's just really well planned out and so sci-fictiony (yeah I just made up that word).

Nikkifin : You did well. Your interiors are well coordinated in my opinion with each room having a distinctive feel of it's own. I'm thinking that Charlie might appreciate that given that he might be spending A LOT of time down there. I think that you may want to try and blend your terrain paint to match what is around your lot. If you want to do something drastic, try using a think fence or brush to break up that edge a little. (personally, terrain painting is a pain but it's worth the trouble)

lionpaws : First, your Charlie looks so friendly! Your exterior is just superb, I especially like your before and after Armageddon shots. Inside I love your junk room. Looks like good old Charlie is a hoarder... Decontamination zones are brilliant and I love the way you did your skylights...I want you to know that I am officially stealing that cool trick for the future.

Amby316 : You did an excellent job on the master bedroom. The colors are vibrant and the layout works well in that room. Also I like your pool area, the plants really make that room POP! BTW, is your Sim able to go down the stairs with them having plants so close? Mine just refuse to do it....

ZYIsSims : I want the cacti....Your exterior makes me think...zombie apocolypse....Oh neat, you got your horses in there! The nursery is whimsical and fun! I like the feel of your house it seems like a tropical resort. How did you get make the floors visible to one another for that open look?

Donnagnocchi : Skunk Bunker- too cute! Your pool is very nice. Good job on the window with the "outside scenery".

anniepks : I like your use of warm colors and woods throughout your build. Everything seems cohesive and designed by a Sim with a particular taste which is reflected in the style of the home. Nice work.

JoubertCG : Lovely work on this one. And I am still dying to know how you guys made the multi-level basements be visible with large open spaces! I have to learn this....

SimiHendrixEXP : I like the uniqueness of your build. It's really charming and it makes me need to get a certain town which I have refuses to shell out cash for.....

JGrocks2010 : I would like to suggest that you use the buydebug cheat to have access to the free ceiling lights. They make a huge difference on your budget when you are using so many lights. I am glad that I was not the only Simmer to think that Mr Knox needed spacious living spaces! Lots of routing room is always good in my book!

mgolden27 : I love your Charlie he looks serious and that is really how I pictured him too, I just don't think I achieved it on my own Charlie. LOL Charlie is very LONELY!! By far the best slideshow of the challenge....I never saw that coming!

Everyone really pulled out all the stops on this one and I really enjoyed waiting until the end to look at them all, I am definitely doing it again in the future, it was such a treat!

You can recolor patterns. :) What was from pets in the house? Everything was base game items??? Although I was in the process of double checking and I had to rush my son to the hospital, so if I missed something I can change it quick. I'll be home soon to do that. :(

I am so sorry to hear about your son. I hope he is doing better.

I don't know what was from pets, only that the exchange said there was something from pets. I will look around and see if I can figure it out.

EDIT: I found it, it is the garage doors. They are from pets. There was only the one plain garage door in the original game.

    Welcome!

    Requirements:
Your budget is $150,000 fully furnished
Must be placed on a 40x40 lot so all entries have the same exact space to work with
One bedroom must be a master, they prefer a suite
One bedroom must be a nursery (You can do a boy one and a girl one, or a neutral nursery along with a guest room...)
You must end up with three bedrooms in the end and three bathrooms.
    THE MAIN CHALLENGE REQUIREMENT:
You can only use items from the base game, we are going fully back to basics....just with a big budget. Let's see how creative we can all get. No expansion packs, no stuff packs, no store items, no CC, and no buydebug.

i downloaded, and in the sims 3 launcher it says; "This item had dependencies on [Expansion Packs] or [Stuff Packs] content that seems to be missing [from my game] The missing [Expansion Packs] or [Stuff Packs] content will be replaced with proxies"

    LOL
