  • Chazzy - you can use the build tools and build a wall - place the extra diplomas on the wall and then use the hammer to destroy the wall with the extra diplomas - this deleted the extra diplomas from the 2 sims I had with the same issue - at least until they fix it.
  • I’m trying out the “rotate after completing a term” but it sounds like it may have already been tested. I’m working with a relatively new save that I haven’t gotten too attached to yet as I ran into issues setting the neighborhood up using story mode (I didn’t know the “story” disappeared if you moved the family into the…
  • What works for me is to set my in game resolution to 1024 x 768 (in the options menu) before attempting to start a new game or load a town/area for the first time. Once I've got the new town loaded, I save then quit. Now that the world cache files are created you can return to the higher resolution settings. It is a bit of…
  • Fresh install didn't work for me. It took forever to load new town and crashed immediately upon entering CAS, so at this point I'm unable to start a new game. Tried playing with/without being logged in and with/without Custom Content. No difference. System is a Macbook Pro w/Retina and 16GB of RAM. EDIT: I have all EPs and…
  • It happens in my game too. I even tried making the Simbot a friend, thinking that would stop the A Simbot! rection. No luck. It was annoying as my Sims kept stomping their queued items to take care of the infant/toddler to react to the Simbot living in their bloody house. I really hope this is something they fix with a…
  • If you have World Adventures you could try and send them on vacation. That should cause the Sim to "redraw" without the paint brush/plate stuck to their hand. I know that simply giving them a shower or changing their outfit didn't work for me. Good luck!
  • Try moving the Documents/Electronic Arts/Sims 3 folder to another location and then restart the game. The game will create a new one including building new cache files etc.
  • The only thing that works for me is if I use my browser (for some reason Safari seems to be working better than Firefox for this) and go under my purchase history, do a "save as" with the browser so I have the Sims 3 pack files saved to Safari's designated downloads folder. Then the crucial step is to make sure the Sims…
  • Option #3 appears to have fixed my Launcher problem. I've not installed any mods but I have installed a fair amount of items from the Exchange and Store. Maybe my attempts at the Legacy Challenge will forever be cursed  Thanks for the quick response/resolution! :D
  • Installed 1.4, relaunched the launcher and I still get the spinning wheel of death and have to force quit. No change after the patch :( I even tried rebooting just for grins.
  • I get the endlessly spinning beach ball as soon as the item finishes downloading. Then I have to force quit. I've tried both the Add to Game and Save File and both result in a hang. This is very frustrating. I haven't tried to upload anything so not sure if uploading is also borked.
  • *waves* I've been unable to sim because of the unusual heatwave we've had here in the Seattle area (with no air conditioning I didn't want to run my computer and have it overheat both of us :). But, I was pleasantly surprised when I logged in today and found that my Artiste family (can find them here…
  • Thanks jayemmpee! I love your Beatnik family your writeup inspired me to make a back story for my commune family. fiery - I love your idea for the air family! Plus, it will add lots of marriable sims to the neighborhood. Rawla - The Fire family is adorable. I love their coordinated outfits :) porter - OMG! That is a very…
  • Here's my household for the Artist Commune (think it was listed as #5 if that helps). Please let me know if I need to change anything. I did make sure there was no premium content, and I'm pretty sure I avoided custom content as well. http://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=638104
  • Oooh, I like very much! I'm biased towards the modern style I must admit. I really loved the feaure walls in the bedrooms. I'm giving this a rec and a fav and will download it when I get over to my mac.
  • Sorry if this has already been asked/answered, but do you have Enable Object Hiding on? (Under the graphics setting)
  • I'm in generation 5 and my legacy house with 6 sims is lagging badly. My founder's ghost seems to be trapped somewhere on the lot, but I have no idea where. I've moved his and all the tombstones to the cemetery, but each night I hear the ghost anthem. I've rebuilt the house to have wide hallways, and no stairs to increase…
  • Did you try typing resetSim <firstname lastname> in the cheat window? I think that should bring her back to the home lot.
  • My founder collected gems, metal and space rocks and then sold them via the mailbox. He earned quite a bit of building money that way. His lifetime wish was to be a Professional Author, so he spent his early days in the Library writing his first few novels (nice for the weekly royalties and all the time spent on a…
  • Ooh, I love starter homes and I really like the greens and browns used throughout. My biggest problem with building a starter is I run out of money to do much with the curb appeal and yours has very nice curb appeal. Downloaded and rec'd.
  • Any 40x40 (or smaller) residential lot will do either from Sunset Valley or Riverview. Some builders make a note of which lot they used in their description if it has special views that their design takes advantage of, but it is not necessary. Hope that helps!
  • Once again these look fantastic people! Mumsy - I never knew that the terrariums were stackable! I've been putting little tables all over my house whenever I have a sim that likes collecting bugs. Now if they would only let us put all the fish into one fish tank (of course some might eat the others which could get kind of…
  • If you use the mid-life crisis reward you have to randomize all 5 traits (or 4 if you are doing the family trait option).
  • Rec'ing and will download to add to my game when I get off work. I am always amazed at how many things you get in your starters. And with landscaping too! Great job!
  • Wow, good job! You are doing much better than I am. The first born of my 5th generation just aged to child. (He has a set of younger twin brothers that are still toddlers). So far my points are: Generations: 5 Lifetime Wishes: 8 Portraits: 0 (Lag makes controlling the portrait 'cam' next to unbearable) Aspiration Rewwards:…
  • I wasn't intending mine as an uglacy, but some of my heirs have turned out rather, umm, challenged in the looks department. I'll see if I can upload them later (I can't remember if I saved them to my library at each generation. Fifth generation is looking rather normal, so maybe I'll start to see less overbite and more…
  • I obviously have a lot of catching up to do, as I've had my head buried in the Legacy Challenge (Generation 5 was just born, but my legacy lot really lags on my poor computer). This looks to be a fun break and one that I can play on smaller lots. I think I will start with Gordon and catch up. I like the idea of putting all…
  • @anniepks - Hope things go well for you So many awesome entries this week. Its always interesting to see everyone's interpretation of the client specifications.
  • I honestly would not recommend upgrading a 6 year old machine. You can easily run into compatibility problems with the components. For example, the newer graphics cards often require a larger power supply which may not be compatible with your motherboard. Also, you may find that the RAM (memory) for your 6 year old machine…
  • Here are my entries for the Good Vs Evil showcase. Lucien LaBarre - YA sim traits are evil, genius, charismatic, computer whiz and ambitious. Custom Hair color by InkedKitten. http://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=493841 And his starter lot, priced under 16,000. LaBarre's Lair -…
