  • Agreed, it's absurd to think that EA would not make a profit off of expansion packs that add pets and weather into the game. What's even more absurd, though, is why they HAVEN'T already made those expansions for Sims 3. Of all the ideas that make the least sense to me, this "Generations" expansion is among the worst…
  • If people don't complain, problems don't get fixed. Are there complaints about very minute problems? Yes. But there are also complaints about game breaking issues that need fixing. If you categorize every complaint the same way you simply ignore the fact that a lot of them are legitimate. Do I think there are problems in…
  • Or they could simply get rid of micro transactions to begin with. As far as I can tell, the amount of money they must get from the store isn't going toward anything visible in the community or game. The forums are still a mess and have fewer features than something you can make for free in 15 minutes. The games are full of…
  • As far as Life Fruit goes, just grab the Collection Helper and look for Special Seeds. They can usually be found around the graveyard in each neighborhood. After you have the 10 Life Fruit you of course need the Heart Cut Pink Diamond, which, in my opinion, is the hardest ingredient. Rather than trying to look for it or…
  • My Sims don't really fish often, unless they don't have anything else to do, but as far as being self-employed, I wouldn't do it for the money. Most ALL of the self-employed careers are worthless in terms of monetary gain because you only earn money from promotions and selling your produce.
  • You can view the effects the Perceptive trait has at the Sims Wiki.
  • Pemmican is the cheapest special object that can be purchased from the special merchant in any vacation destination. You have to have a level 1 visa in order to buy it as well as 10 Ancient Coins. Here is a link to the Sims Wiki page on special merchant items.
  • I wholeheartedly agree with you. By creating numerous threads about the same topic (whether it's Pets, Seasons, Magic, or whatever) people are not only taking away space on the front page for NEW ideas, but they are also scattering the support for their own cause. If we simply had one thread for Pets or one thread for…
  • I've never played with money cheats, I mean, what's the point of the game if you do? I've always considered the Sims a story about rising up from rags to riches through hard work. That's the way I've always played and I'm having tons of fun.
  • I've been here since the beginning, and have no intentions of leaving. As long as EA sticks to the core premise of the game, they'll at least have a customer in me.
  • That's essentially Ambrosia, just without the restriction on who makes it. Though I suppose the Elixir of Life would also fall into that category.
  • As far as forum improvements go, I really think it's inexcusable for this forum to lack a private messaging system or any way of changing the number of threads and replies on a page. These are basic forum features and should be implemented immediately.
  • Unfortunately I don't believe this is an issue of hardware or OS. I'm running Windows 7 on a brand new computer with 8 gigs of ram and a much higher than recommended graphics card. I still get the random crashes every couple of hours, which is very annoying. I NEVER had this problem with the base game, therefore it would…
  • Looks interesting, but I'm not particularly interested in a stand alone game from the Sims 3. However, if this IS supposed to be the next expansion then I'm going to be very disappointed.
  • I always loved the cage dancing from House Party and the Snowboarding from Vacation. Having seasons in the Sims 2 really made a difference to the feel of the game, it changed it from a normal bland day to a variety with unique things for each season. Easily my favorite expansion in the Sims franchise, University is a close…
  • I wonder how many threads have been created asking for Pets, Seasons, or Night Life since the creation of this forum...
  • While you make a good point, you would still be hard pressed to find a person in real life that worked their way up the promotion ladder and is still being bossed around by the guy that hired him 20 years ago. As for having to deal with competition... it would certainly make things more interesting. Having the boss over…
  • Unfortunately, your theory doesn't hold water. Even if data logging were somehow still activated, EA is incapable of monitoring information outside of the Sims 3. If they were somehow logging what websites I visited they would be breaking the law by means of illegal surveillance. I'm not going to go through the trouble of…
  • Well, what's a game that you think would be a good addition to the Sims 3 that ISN'T from a long time ago?
  • Lol, how anticlimactic, reminds of the days when Sims had kids by kissing. It's a shame the fish in the tank are all the same size. Kind of annoying having a goldfish and a tuna in my aquarium that are both the size of a hand.
  • Well, most games do originate from a long time ago. Chess, for instance, is from the 1400's.
  • It's a type of game. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shuffle_board Also, snooker and billiards are two different games. Snooker was never in the Sims, but billiards has been.
  • The No Bills Ever reward is probably the best available in terms of usage. It's always the first one I get when I start a family.
  • I agree it would be nice to have a tool that allowed us to create our own clothing, but you have to realize that EA isn't "making" these tools to release them for our use. The Create-a-World and Create-a-Pattern tools were likely already made prior to the release of Sims 3 for use by the developers in making the game.…
  • I think the point marcford89 was trying to make is that the job system is flawed in the way it deals with NPC's. My Sim shouldn't have a boss that is 4 levels lower than him and NPC's should be moving up and down the ladder as well. I don't really like how the only time a new employee shows up is when a Sim dies. There…
  • I always enjoy more skills to master, and seeing as the development team implemented dancing into Freetime I imagine it shouldn't be too difficult to add it to the Sims 3.
  • I too have a hard time aging up infants and toddlers while on Epic length, so I usually just bring it down to Normal until they age up. If another Sim happens to age up during that time, oh well, they would have done it even if I was still on Epic.
  • I think a size limit would be better. There really isn't a need to have such large signatures that usually take up more space than the actual post. If people become so annoyed with massive signatures that they have to turn them off, then how are creators going to get any attention without requesting it? A simple pixel…
  • I don't know the name of the song, but I do remember it as my favorite of all time from the Sims series. It's usually the first song to come up on the College station for the Sims 2 University. Here's the song on YouTube, it's The Daylights - Outsider.
