Merry: ty so much for the pics for the windows. I wasnt happy with the way they looked at all but had no idea what to do with that. They will come in very handy. And yes it is a modern feel cabin. The interior is where that will really show. here is my palette.

I really like that palette. You have chosen a good one with built in contrast. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with it.

So I had a little mishap with my cabin...for some reason (I think I may have gone gung ho on soften terrain to close to the house) The house was all wonky in one corner causing all kinds of structual deformities. So I tore her down and started over...Kept the same idea just on flat terrain. I changed the siding again and I went for a new look with the windows as per MErry's suggestion. Let me know what you think.

It is looking really nice bergcrys. I like the way you have the windows. In the picture it looks like there is empty space in a couple of places. I don't know if I'm seeing it wrong or what. It could be you are using different windows that make it look like there is no wall there, but maybe another picture or two would help.

Have fun!

They are "glass wall" windows...they go from ceiling to floor..theyre supposed to be a more modern style. I forget where I got them I think it was one of the websites jaded posted for modern cc.

Hi Julia, the bedroom is beautiful. I love those colours together. I nursery/child's room is so cute. I would change the baseboard in the bathroom from wood to a stone like marble or a tile. Great work.

Hi bergcrys, Are you working with a palette here? I see, orange, red, green and turquoise. I don't see them working together the way you have them right now. You could make it work though. Try using them together in a stripe on the bed. One of the stripes that uses 4 colours. Then using a pattern that has a small repeat and at least 3 colours on one large rug instead of the two rugs you have now. You could use 3 of the colours together and then the room would work. I love the bathroom. The lights over the mirror look really good.

I've decided to go with pictures to try and give an example of how I used 5 bold colours together. Each of these three rooms uses the same palette, yet they are each focused on a different colour in that palette.

The colour palette is Autumn Modern.

I need some serious suggestions.
The outside is bugging me!!

My note:
-Holy, I feel like a pro when it comes to floor-layers now. This house took me like... FOREVER to do. with the stairs, the layering of the front door, and the back of the house... And lets not talk about positioning the doors inside of the house with the new layers. To be honest, I learned a LOT!
It was good fun!

Sounds like you had fun doing this one. I like the overall look of the house. You have followed the inspiration with regard to the shape of the house. The roof behind the tower I think should be a hipped roof and not a gabled roof if I am seeing it right. The inspiration picture has a grey roof and grey stone around the foundation and the front door. I am wondering why you didn't do that too. I think also the exterior finish you have done a great job. I like it a little darker than the washed colour in the inspiration picture. Over the front door you look to have no roof and the inspiration picture doesn't have one either. May I suggest a Juliette balcony. That is a balcony with no access and just one tile out under the window with a short fence. I think the short wrought iron fence would look good. Good luck and I hope these ideas help you.

Have fun!

I think it looks great. I love the way you have blended the colour palette with the neutral grey in the living area. I suggest turning the layout of the furniture in the living room so the TV is not in front of the window. I think it would work best if the TV was against the entry side of the area. Just a suggestion you can try and see if you like it. I love the kitchen; Home Sweet Home. The bathroom is very nicely done in that subtle green. Great job.

Have fun!

I'll answer your question first. I use TinyPic.com. You can upload your screenshots directly from your Screenshots folder. Then at the tinypic site you can change the size to a width of 640px and a height of 480px as you upload. After you upload it, the site gives you the links needed. Use the one that says it's for forums. Just copy from the tinypic site and paste it in your post.

The link to your house plan doesn't work, however, I love your choice of palette. It has built in contrasting colours. I'm looking forward to those pictures.

Have fun!

Thanks to all who gave recs and/or downloaded Moon Gardens. It has done very well cmpared to my previous builds, so you all nmust be doing something right. Give yourselves a pat on the back.

Not for sure if this WIP should go to Magic or our new Overseers but here goes. This is my CFE Build Number 1 WIP. I am finally satisfied with my lot choice (4th try), as well as the flooring and the walls (both interior and xterior. The only room finished is the kitchen. All other lighting is to enable me to see as I work. My colour palette is Mediterranean Dining.
http://www.colourlovers.com/palette/939435/Mediterranean_Dining

The first four pics are of the exterior of my build. I did not use the roof lines in the photo and I added two windows and two exits. Otherwise, I followed the plan. Oh yes, there is CFE fencing outside two of the three window walls. My land is laid out for my landscaping plans but no other outside work has been done.

Screenshot-6 This is same view with walls down so you can see into the kitchen.

Screenshot-7 And this is my floor plan. Please feel free to critique. Sorry there is not more completed.
