@SweetieWright_84 I felt like it visually connects the worlds, and I definitely think it makes the different worlds feel less disconnected.

My sim self's lounge is looking a bit cramped these days, do you have any suggestions on how to re-arrange the space with no major renovations?
    9JJdFxU.png

    Question number two:
These were my sim self's step children during his second marriage.
    s6pb1ie.png

If you have had step children in game, have you kept their photo's up like he has? As i'm trying to de-clutter the space and they haven't really seen my sim self since their mother divorced him in 1993 (it's now 1999) is it worth keeping their pictures up? They're also teens now as i still see them roaming the worlds.

I was excited to play Home Chef Hustle today but instead, I got a lovely double charge for the pack, no option to download and all of the EA help pages just continuously load, turn white or give a 502 bad gateway error message. What a lovely day of simming 😒😒

And yes, I know where tech issues should be reported but apparently they have tech issues of their own to report over there 😐

@Brd709 Did you Sim Self love his stepchildren? If so, I should think keeping their pictures would be a happy thing. Dpesn't matter that they are now older. This is likely what they looked like when they all lived together. My mother had just a few things on the piano. A framed photo of her father when he was just a wee little guy. As for how to arrange the funiture in the lounge, it looks fine to me the way it is. Sorry I'm not much help.

Oh, bummer. Glad I'm not ready to make that purchase just yet. I'm wanting to get my new gaming rig before I add much more to this laptop. Yesterday's patch is gumming up the works, causing my computer so run very, very slowly. I have to wait just for my email page to load up and then it freezes for a bit. Same with Word Perfect. I get this happy little message in the upper bar Not-responding. I'd like to tear my hair out about now.

I had to go through my screenshots during the years of my sim self's second marriage before i could find an answer. I think he loved and cared for his step kids.

This was taken in 1990, shortly after he got married the winter before. Here he is autonomously playing with one of them:

Summer time 1990 pool fun with another of his step kids and his daughter Elizabeth:

This one was taken in 1992:
    BYshdN7.png

So i think he did love and care for them, that's why he kept their pictures up.

Here are the full size images of the photos of his step children in the photo frames:

I didn't realise they were twins until they moved in!

@Brd709 If it were me, I'd keep the pictures. If you don't want to display them, you could put them in the keepsake box or a storage box. You could also give the step-kids the pictures as gifts.

In real life, I never throw away pictures because they may mean something to someone else. I have pictures of my nieces with their bio-dad (my ex-brither-in-law). If/when they ever ask for them or wish they had them, I can give them my copies. Of course I'm also a sentimental pack-rat.

Be sure to approach EA first about the double charge whenever the website isn't having issues. I've heard if you go through your bank instead, EA considers it a charge back and your account will automatically be locked.

    Some ideas @Brd709
    - unless you're really trying to feel 1975, change the couches out for something less blocky and orange-- you could try either all of the furniture in a more coordinating color with the rest of the room, or have just one that's a contrast piece-- more coordinated will feel less cramped
    - the floral curtains + floral wallpaper are a little busy. maybe either remove one of the two prints or replace it with a print that's smaller or seems further away, to give the impression of more depth of field
    - the TV being up high on the wall like that gives the impression that seating should be farther away than it is. moving the tv down might help the seating feel like it's in the right place
    - another idea would be to swap the tv with the paintings at the far end of the room and basically divide the room in half, so that half is tv seating oriented around the far wall, and the other half is either conversation seating or oriented around some other hobby or focal point

Another tip I was given, is to store the Seasons decorations box in the roof space and only bring it out when you want to change or add to the decorations around the house or yard. In one of my homes I have made the roof space accessible by a ladder and turned it into an attic storeroom with lots of boxes, the Seasons decorations box, old crib…

A wise person once said of wedding photos, at least, that they didn't belong to the couple who got married, rather that they belonged to the subsequent children of this union. As a Genealogist, I have come to appreciate the value of photographs. Those who have them, hopefully, have dutifully marked the names of all in the photo, the place, and the year for those who come after them. I have a few that are completely unmarked. I have no clue who they are, if they're family, or just close friends? Not only that, but the person(s) who would have known are now long gone. :open_mouth: I am in favor of keeping them. Also, some select objects, too. I have a very nice ceramic Tea Set that my great-grandmother gave to my maternal grandparents as a wedding gift, in the Scottish Tradition. Grandma hung onto it for longer than she should have but it finally got passed down to my mother and as the eldest daughter (per that Scottish Tradition) it was passed down to me. I tried to pass it down to my only daughter, but she told me to hang onto it, lest it get broken. She has many children. Of course, I am supposed to serve tea to someone before it leaves my care, but that's another story . . .

ETA: My grandparents got married in 1924! That means next year, this Tea Set if officially an antique! Whoa.

I try to put mine in the laundry room, if there's enough room for it. Also, I must confess I didn't even see it when I first looked at the photo. :open_mouth: I need new glasses. LOL

I had Srsly's Cooking Overhaul installed in my game and discovered today it's not working properly. To delete cooking mods, you have to enter every played household and delete any food anywhere.

So...I ended up deleting my large rotation save. A bit of a wrench, but I had started over after Growing Together. Fortunately, that save has only three played households so far. Basically decided to not let my rotations get so completely out of control. And not to download any more large food mods until the game is completed.

Sometimes I still feel a bit like a noob... I seriously did not know about "mood based" way to form the bonsai tree. After searching the net I found this guide: https://simscommunity.info/2022/08/06/crafting-bonsai-trees-in-the-sims-4/ I think I did notice a sim who have completed the "playful" shape once (autonomously) but I thought it was just a joke or something. But today I did see that a sim who was in a flirty mood could cut a "Flirty" shape... :o

I think the only thing you need do is uninstall the mod/cc. I've never heard of a cooking overhaul mod. Best of luck to you. I've had to either rollback a save or start entirely over again, so you have my deepest sympathies.

That's definitely true of most mods, but if you remove cooking mods without removing the food made with those mods, it can corrupt your lot so it won't open. Did not know that!

Fortunately, I had already decided to start over, but was keeping the old save for referral purposes and nostalgia. Strangely enough, I feel freer with it gone. Most of the Sims were saved in my library already, so I can download them if I want to play them again.

I haven't had much time to play lately, but my children and grandchild are moving out this weekend, so I should have more time to play. I will still be babysitting during work hours, but not as much, "Mom, can you watch the baby while I shower, etc.?" Mixed blessing as I will really miss them, but it's a healthy development.

Yes, the restart can, indeed, be freeing. Once I learned the 'secret' for my Singer/songwriter Rock Star to finally have his music recognized, I was able to have him write songs that got nominated, but he was already older by then. That's the save I was trying to reproduce, as in his youngest kid had just aged up to Child in that one, which I achieved very recently, as you may know. To start having bumps, now, in this save is disturbing. And when Erik died due to a glitch, I must confess besides being shocked at how it happened, and that it did happen, I also felt an undeniable sense of relief, as you've expressed. Why is that do you suppose?

As for your daughter and grandkids moving out, I understand that sense of freedom. I babysat just one of my grandsons for about four years from morning to the end of the workday. I was relieved when the parents divorced and she moved out of state, which tore at my heart, knowing I wouldn't see him much, but having my time being my own again was great. I should mention I drove him back and forth to school for that period of time. I had quite forgotten how much Kindergarten rips up a day!

@mightysprite Thanks for those suggestions. I'll have a tinker and see what i come up with. The lounge at present is how the lounge room looked in the real house when it went up for sale in 2013. I didn't live there in real life but i saw the listing from 2013 and tried to match it along with the furniture as close as possible.

I put away the seasonal decoration box, i just forgot to put it away when i decorated the outside for New Years Eve.

I'm playing in my save and rotating through all of my Willow Creek households. One of the households, the Greens, adopted a labradoodle. Even though I have Neighborhood Stories turned off for played households. That's not the point of this post though. When I went into this household, the dog's name is Sweetie. I didn't name her. She also has my eye color and hair color, even though mine isn't natural. I don't know whether to be flattered or offended :D. Anyway, here she is.

Overachiever trait is wild... This sim of mine went from 0 skill in cooking to max 10 just from a garden salad. :flushed: Guess I'll have to avoid this trait for my Super Sim if I don't want to cheat. Thought I would share because it was pretty crazy to see. lol

*There is an open bug thread for it. I'll be adding to it as soon as I can.

My mom actually did. Usually she went through all 5 of us kids and the dogs before she got the right name. I've been guilty of it a time to or two with my kids.

Mom actually called me more often by my younger sister's name. She never called me by my older brother's name, though. And the dog, happily, never was brought into it. I find myself doing it to my two sons. I start to say the older one's name, then correct myself mid-course and it ends up sounding like the older one's name with an accent. Christian and Jonathan, whom we usually call Jon. Chris-Jon. Oi!
