Just out of curiosity, what are the ages of all the Simmers out there?

Edit to say I am loving seeing the age demographics are so broad! I mention playing Sims to some friends and they are shocked I still play. Although my closest friend is an avid player too!
Remember age is two things. 1.) It's just a number and 2.) You only feel as old as you perceive yourself to be. I'm 68 but feel like a kid for the most part. Only my body reminds me from time to time, I'm not a kid.

I bought my first computer, a Spectrum at an Ideal Home show in the 1980's. It was £99 for under 20 Kilobytes! I upgraded it myself later on to double the power! An Apple PC was being sold there as well but was much more expensive. It was such fun in those days to be one of the first users. I got my sister (85) her first laptop 30 years ago and managed, only just, to get my brother (83) to use his tablet. Like your mum he's a bit scared of it and never listens to my advice. It's got to be the shop, down the road!
My mom is 52 and still plays. She is who introduced me to it when she bought Sims 1 and let me play on her computer. She also plays xbox and all those typical games lol. She loves her games.
I'm 37. Forgot to vote. I'll go back and do that now.
Exie hay, cavero, mabza meeah vendarzo.
Yevsas mairzeemo!
It's a great deterrent to Empty Nest Syndrome.

My daughter got married at 18. I never really suffered from the Empty Nest thing. At least not consciously, but I did cry like a baby when my Sims2 Sims' daughter moved out. LOL Go figure. I did go through a period of two and a half years, wherein random people in my personal sphere died, starting with my Dad. I buried myself in my game.

Probably the worse thing about getting up there in age is that the older I get, the more funerals I have to attend. All the parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles are gone now so hopefully it will be a few years before I have to attend a cousin's funeral.
That could well be in the long run, but if you weren't around when the switch from Sims2 to Sims3 occurred, you wouldn't realize the mess it used to be. Yikes. I'm grateful that nonsense didn't happen so much with the switch over to Sims4. Phew!

Yes, my parents are both gone, now, and their family is also, for the most part. I am a Genealogist by hobby and have managed to connect with family from my father's line, so we're talking extended family. It goes a long way toward helping me feel less alone. In fact, after five years, this family is back to their Family Reunion, interrupted, twice, due to Covid. Bi-annual, normally the only one I've been to, was in 2018. Learned a lot about my 6th (six times great) grandfather.

I'm thinking about doing the same thing as after a health scare earlier this year so I'm meeting a lot of young people doing a quick house call to see if I'm ok every day. They've steered me through getting rid of a sofa, table and oven so far! So much to get rid of isn't there!
I hope you manage to Keep your bandwidth and internet going and keep playing the Sims.
I was a late bloomer, I didn't start playing the Sims until I was 50. Bought Sims 2 University with money from my MIlestone birthday. Hadn't had birthday money in decades. It was fun.

Age, when it comes to this game to me has never been ‘the’ or a problem as it can be with some games, like I keep my addiction to playing Pokémon games hush hush due to my age…
But with Sims, I choose to keep it hush hush cause I am a guy… It feels as embarrassing for anyone to know as if I was wearing women’s lingerie in secrete 🫤 (An “as if” cause I ain’t like that..)
Cause it’s a fun and addictive game but… Often *feels* like it’s one of those things not meant for guys…
I have tried to give up sims like 3 or 4 times now but… Lol it’s an addiction that seems like it requires it’s own group for, a ‘Simmers Anonymous’ 🤭
Have gone about a year, maybe a lil more without the itch to play again coming back 😳 😅
Highly addictive…
For me, I think more than anything it’s BECAUSE it’s a game that plays itself… You can leave the game going without a pause button push and go to the rest room, do laundry, answer the door or whatever and no threat of a ‘need to reload’ death/ game over and things can and will progress on their own— or can, less we take “free Will off active/selected sim”.
-Yes, person I barely know, you have my blessing to hang out with Johnny Zest.
-No person with the mean, hot-headed and self-absorbed traits, I don't think you should get married.
I was hoping, when Sims 4 came out that it would combine SimCity4 worlds with it as you could make worlds in SimCity and put them in Sims2 (I think or was it The Sims?). They should have gone down that path rather than the way they did. SimCity5 was a bit of a disaster.
I still love SimCity4 but do cheat with a money adding park!
