Just out of curiosity, what are the ages of all the Simmers out there?

My mom is 63 and my dad is 71 and they both play video games!

I'm 37. Forgot to vote. I'll go back and do that now. :#

Age, when it comes to this game to me has never been ‘the’ or a problem as it can be with some games, like I keep my addiction to playing Pokémon games hush hush due to my age…

But with Sims, I choose to keep it hush hush cause I am a guy… It feels as embarrassing for anyone to know as if I was wearing women’s lingerie in secrete 🫤 (An “as if” cause I ain’t like that..)
Cause it’s a fun and addictive game but… Often *feels* like it’s one of those things not meant for guys…

I have tried to give up sims like 3 or 4 times now but… Lol it’s an addiction that seems like it requires it’s own group for, a ‘Simmers Anonymous’ 🤭
Have gone about a year, maybe a lil more without the itch to play again coming back 😳 😅
    Highly addictive…

For me, I think more than anything it’s BECAUSE it’s a game that plays itself… You can leave the game going without a pause button push and go to the rest room, do laundry, answer the door or whatever and no threat of a ‘need to reload’ death/ game over and things can and will progress on their own— or can, less we take “free Will off active/selected sim”.

It never occurs to me to remove the freewill, even to step away to go to the restroom, let alone the laundry. Disaster strikes in my game. LOL I had mysterious fires breaking out in the basement, for a time. FYI Don't build a pool down there and have concrete surrounding it, as most pools do. :open_mouth:

@Kilov17 and @Ersa_Middleton, please never feel embarrassed or ashamed for enjoying something. Being in the 60+ age bracket, I am often mocked for playing games. Quite often, the people who mock me for still playing the Sims or SimCity have never even tried playing these or other games and as such are merely showing their own insecurities. I have been playing the SimCity and sims since they first came out (huge clunky computers and massive boxy monitors). As a family, my children and I bond over these games and still all play a version of the original Sim 1 save we all shared initially. Even my son will happily admit to being a sims player and still plays SimCity as well (as I do still sometimes when I need a change). I am now starting to bond with my grandchildren with both sims and SimCity. The next generation of sales is assured. 🤣

Besides, if I may add to that playing such games is supposed to be good to keep the elderly brain alive and healthy. :) That's my story and I'm sticking with it. LOL

I am guessing you are/ were joking and knew I didn’t mean I turn or anyone would turn ‘free Will’ off to go do something; just at times some like me turn it off, so my sims do what I want when I want full control over the actions of a sim— cause free Will can get in the way at times— for me. And if it’s still on or left on when going to do something, then it can cause bad things as needs go down over time and it stops them from taking care of those needs of course lol.

Just felt silly for me to NOT mention it, as it would make for an exception to all I had said in that last comment at the end lol 😂
Trying to cover my bases but again, I am sure you were just pulling my leg. Having a lil fun 🤪😁

@GalacticGal Sims (and other games) has been a recognised part of my rehab in getting mu poor bruised brain back to some semblance of normal. It has been shown that video games help with eye-hand coordination, and it is now believed that playing video games can help the brain re-map itself. I know sims definitely helped me deal with the stress of learning to walk, talk and live again and was a safe way for me to release some of my anger.

The perfect excuse for playing sims - we are completing our daily brain training exercises. 😀

I use that same excuse for playing my daily solitaire games every morning. B)

Minors aren't supposed to give their exact age because of safety concerns and liability. Those of us who are over 18 can give it if we don't mind sharing.

Possibly the age ranges to select from? I know adults aren't as restricted as kids are (for their own protection). Just a thought.
