Is this "cursed" sim an adult by any chance and you're using bienchen's "wrinkles for adults" mod? It usually removes skin overlays (if used in forehead crease slot) in live mode, even though in CAS they look fine, with chosen overlay. Had this issue myself and it was the cause for me.
@anhaeeyn Sorry, no. I only have a few mods in the mods folder at the moment, as I was starting over with cc and mods, this is happening for some reason I can't even imagine right now. The cursed sim was downloaded from the gallery initially, than changed a bit in cas, but I can't find anything weird - everything seems normal except the skin overlays not working.

@luthienrising An update and a lesson in repairing - it seems the issues where resolved simply by restarting the computer. If anyone repairs the game like I did and it didn't fix anything, restarting may actually help! I haven't tested every skin overlay but at this point I'm not touching anything more! lol

Personal Update
At some point today, I have to head out of town for at least a few days on urgent family business. I'm unlikely to be able to fit in keeping this list up during that time because I have to squeeze some work in too. PLEASE use the thread ONLY to post update links, and nothing else. In the friendliest possible way, I would just like to point out that the old version of my mod that MonoChaos has updated is not my current All Beds Mod. We have different approaches to achieving the same end. Also, it is worth noting that a lot of the HSYs gameplay coding is not included with all of Mono's beds. I have not played much with pillow fights and other HSYs gameplay so I really don't know how much of an impact this will have. In my mod I try to keep all the gameplay features and just give the same Energy, Comfort and Stress Releif as the top of the range bed to every bed.
They are different mods so choose your poison to suite your gameplay.

Yes, I checked that yesterday and MonoChaos's mod isn't updated for HSY. Since you're updating your mod again, I think it's unnecessary for MonoChaos to update it as well. It just causes confusion.
Dynamic teen life makes teen sims unable to mess around/woohoo
This might have been done on purpose and so not be a 'bug'. Report it to the mod author.
My copy of that goes back to Sept 9th, v1.3, and I have yet to see this problem. It looks like the mod is on v1.5 and I somehow never saw a notice that it had been updated.
If you have 'wonderful whims', I know the NSFW version of that mod did purposefully block teens from some of the new interactions that were added just before the High School expansion. It's possible the SFW version, 'wonderful whims' also blocks them.
But that same change may be spreading to other modders who disagree with EA over what teens should be able to do / how old they are.
I don't use Discord because it doesn't support multiple accounts and I don't need folks at work wondering what I'm doing even on my own time. Until Discord catches up with every single other voice / video conferencing system, I limit where I use it:
