That said, I'll definitely have a few Sims that will join the established packs, because both of them seem cool! I'm of course leaning towards the scrappy Wildfangs first, but I can definitely see myself enjoying the Moonwood Collective just as much!
I also appreciate that we have the option to toggle werwolves showing up in beast form in other worlds! I'd much rather have a switch for that, rather than having only one option or the other. But I'm glad it won't affect my inevitable werewolf brawls in the occult nightclub I made in San Myshuno! And speaking of toggling, the added options for the lunar cycle is a definite plus.
It seems like they've packed tons of lore into this one, and I can't wait to delve in and learn everything I can! And...then watch a video of someone breaking it all down, including the things I'll absolutely miss 😂
The Underground isn't exactly what I thought it was, but I think it's an interesting way to travel around the world. It's a cool little touch that I could see myself using quite a bit! Aaand now I'll be listening to David Bowie's "Underground" on repeat until the pack comes out ✨
The CAS aspect is something I really can't wait to dig into. With the first teaser image that dropped, I wasn't sure how I'd feel about the faces of the werewolves specifically. Are their noses long enough? Are their eyes too small? But I actually really enjoyed the way it's been done. My Sim can still be recognizable in beast form. Or entirely unrecognizable! We can do whatever we like, and I can't say how much I appreciate that.
Not to mention, I'm over the moon (heh, get it?) with the UI assets in this pack! Just the right amount of cartoony and spooky scary 👌
There was one feature I noticed though, one dialogue option so realistic it blew me away. Now, I can finally do this in-game as well as in real life!
All that being said...it's gonna be a long week. I can't wait to finally be able to play this! Barring any game-breaking bugs, I think this pack might be a new favorite for me!
The one thing that stood out to me about the livestream was how much thought they had put into merging this pack with others. Giving you the option of turning the world into a paranormal party or keeping things fairly sane...*cough*boring*cough*
Im def excited for the gameplay now, it looks really fun. (although the builder in me is questioning why the bar takes up the biggest lot...I mean its just an old disused bus and the underground lair is, well...underground!
Eh. Normally I'd agree something is better than nothing but the something we got feels about the same as nothing.
The full moon effects ALL OCCULT SIMS
I repeat The full moon effects ALL OCCULT SIMS
Mermaids, Spellcasters, Vampires, and Aliens in addition to Werewolves. It also has effects on non-occult sims as well unless you disable it.
The Sims 4 hasn't introduced a new musical instrument since 2017
🐲🐲🐲🐲
No, but 5 new aspirations, with only one being visible when you create a new werewolf, once you complete that one you unlock 4 more.
Oh I love we can set permanent phase now if only that could also be done with seasons etc. too

The world? YES. I love how there's alot of run-down derelict buildings with build buy to support the aesthetic! I honestly love building grungy lots, so Im definitely going to have alot of fun making new lots here.
Werewolf powers? YES. I know they didnt go into too too too much detail with all their abilities, but there's enough going on to really customize your werewolf. Werewolves are definitely going to give the vampires a run for their money.
Rampaging werewolves? YES! Im so ready to have my werewolf fight everyone! And if the right mods come around...ohhhhh some sims might end be ending up on the menu!
Moon phases? YES YES YES! I especially cant wait to see how this will affect other occults! Maybe vampires grow stronger under the moon? Maybe spellcasters will have stronger potion effects or stronger magic? Im here for it!
Option to have werewolves stay just in their world? YAAAAAAAASSSSSSSS! Werewolves are running amok in all my worlds of course, but for the player that doesnt want them all over the place? AWESOME! I dont have to worry about someone else ruining my wolf gameplay just to satisfy their own gameplay! Just turn it on! Hopefully they will have something in store for other occults in the future!
They also said the phases have effects on your sims, and they effect ALL occults.
Now that is some initiative that I was actually not expecting from them, and I must admit I'm impressed. When they said the lunar cycle would be a base game update, I was confused about what the point would be. But to hear that it affects more than werewolves actually got me a little excited.
Except that since we didn't see what the kids got, we don't know that.
I get that it would be cool if kids (and toddlers) had a wolf form. I'm not disagreeing there. But until I see what else the kids can do besides howl, I'm not going to dismiss it as "like nothing" when I don't actually know that it's going to be "like nothing."
I'm all for keeping expectations in check, but dissing the pack for a default you're not sure it has is a bit much.
If there was anything worth showing off for them that we haven't already seen (i.e. the "learn to howl" thing) I'm almost willing to bet we would have seen or been told about it by now. What is most likely the case is that they'll just get something like a confidence moodlet from fighting other kids, and a tense moodlet from whatever "growing pains" is. Would I love to be proven wrong? Yeah, but right now I'm very confident in saying anything relating to werewolves and younger sims will be relegated to moodlets that, 9 times out of 10, we probably won't even notice because they're buried under a bunch of other moodlets.
Other life stages getting the shaft when it comes to supernaturals is nothing new, not even in the other games, but it's still kind of annoying to see. Especially when it's for a supernatural form that did used to include them.
But that's just the bitter family/legacy/storytelling player in me talking. I'm used to that aspect of the sims being screwed over in this iteration of the game (even if they were starting to get better with recent packs) Overall, this pack does still look like it'll be really good.
Sounds pretty interesting to me. And its actually giving me ideas on how to shape werewolf/spellcaster relations in my game depending on the lore. Like perhaps Mooncasters were a sort of subgroup of spellcasters who worshiped the moon and gained their power from it, or were perhaps a "hybrid" race with werewolf ancestry. Or vice versa! Maybe Mooncasters are considered "outsiders" in werewolf and spellcaster society! I'd like to see how this is shaped.
