I also was not aware of just how easy it is to get a novel published. But now I know you can just mail your first draft to any publisher and start getting royalties right away! And not only that, art collectors will buy your paintings straight off your easel without even seeing them. I'm excited about the possibilities.

I have learnt that just going to work in a good mood and chatting to my mirror in my free time will get me promoted and one day I can be the leader of the free world.

I've learned that I never need to call in expensive plumbers or handymen to fix things, I just need to give broken items a few whacks with a hammer or a wrench... or twiddle around indiscriminately with a screwdriver. I have done this 5 times already this week and I'm pretty sure I'm getting really skilled at it. I might start building my own wooden toilet next.

Well I learned a very valuable lesson, I don't have to read one og two books at the time, no I should do as my sims and read a chapter of one book and then a chapter of another and another and another, and ofc leave them all scattered all over the house...

    oh and I almost forgot...

my new handbag! it is simsmarvelous, I can stuff anything in it, plates of food, cakes, coffee, books (a lot of books), flowers, brooms and bikes, it can carry it all. Gets a little difficult to find what I need when I need it, but that is a small price to pay.

Lol! The two things from the sims that I truly want in real life are the ability to earn a comfortable living just by collecting or crafting random stuff, and pockets that can hold a tent, a cooler, some camp chairs, fifty tons of collected rocks, and a whole fire pit.

Sims4 has taught me that if I just fish long enough, I can find a fortune in that dirty pondwater! Getting my fishing license soon! :D

And that I'm glad I don't have pets, because I don't think life would be better with a four-footed nonverbal medical patient on my hands who is in constant need of interventions and procedures, til it dies a short time later. :|

I learned that I am the only person who suffers any kind of negative effect if I decide not to report for a scheduled shift at my workplace. All the other employed people I know are free to take days off without losing their jobs or suffering anything more bothersome than a blinking red icon that notifies them that they're "late for work." They won't progress in their careers, but they won't get fired, either.

This lesson is learned in childhood, because Children and Teens figure out they don't have to go to school, either. They're free to hang out at the park, the gym, or the pool all day long, all week long.

I never ditched class. Yes, I'm the Goodie Two Shoes, of old. However, in my Senior year, there was a Senior Ditch Day. We were told by the Class President, that this was cleared by the Principal and all we needed was a note from home. So, I went with the Seniors. The next day something had been revoked. Or, those checking us back into school never got the memo! Thankfully my Mom called and she must have given them the what for, because I was able to get back into class. Phew!

I did ditch class, but I was a spoiled kid and my teachers liked me/perceived me as good, so my parents luckily never had to get involved like that. As a senior, I remember working hard on this one thing and after we had the related event outside of school, one of my teachers told me to just take a day off. I feel like I did favors for the admin/teachers and they did favors for me (nothing illegal or scandalous, mind you) and it all worked out. :D

Anyway, if your Sims has a high enough writing skill, they can write excuse notes every other day for their children going to school and other household members with jobs. Then, they don't get penalized for skipping.

I have learned that the parent needs to write that excuse beforehand, otherwise the principal calls and the late for school beacon continues to flash. :open_mouth:

Such a stark contrast to my experiences of no one seeming to care if I showed up halfway through class after leaving campus during lunch:

a few times when I went out at lunch to meet up with someone in a field (really it was more like a thicket: acres of privacy with tall cane or bamboo overhead in some places, but also the kinds of thorns that can stop mounted cavalry in others) and one time we got completely lost. Made our way out again eventually, with ripped clothing and bloodied in various places, and went our separate ways, but I was trying to come up with some kind of explanation other than the truth, as I approached the school, but walked in without incident, and to the class that was halfway over. Dr ____ didn't even adjust his glasses, just went back to writing formulae on the chalkboard. No one commented. It was surreal. I never had to explain, (meaning, lie!) because no one asked a thing.

Maybe they considered me eccentric enough that they imagined I could have just gotten lost and forgotten to come back to school after...being attacked by a werewolf? :p I got the impression that no one wanted to know, and I was fine with that.

I ditched class in elementary school for a few years starting in grade 1. As soon as I learned how to walk across the street lights and discovered there was a convenience store with candy and small toys for a dollar or less right next to the school, it was very hard to keep me in a boring class if I had change in my pocket. Once math started getting boring I would just slip out the door when the teacher was facing the blackboard and go shopping for toys and candy then return. For several years, my teachers thought I was just stepping out to use the bathroom, until one day they noticed me walking across the street with a little shopping bag with some toys and candy and I got in so much trouble. Then my parents stopped giving me change. :disappointed: Those were fun times though.

My Sims taught me I don't have to go grocery shopping though, I can just wander around neighborhoods early in the morning looking for plants and flowers that bloom everyday at 5am.

And here, I spent time crying my eyes out when I was late to school. LOL

I literally skipped like half of my last grades i didn't even bother going late i just stayed home and vibed

then last days i actually dislocated my knee at school playing some dumb game they came up with so i also got to skip the celebrations on that excuse  leaving in ambulance to never return such a lovely grand exit

never did i do any rebel teen stuff tho i just wanted to snooze n read books and not meet any humans and i didn't see point in going to school when all info just goes through my head like shazam and gone anyway

tbh I still agree going to school would have been grand waste of time and comfort and i don't particularily have any memory of anything they were trying to teach me

+ I'm pretty certain even if i tried to study my grades would have come out similar because my class attendance would have still been me just snoozing

then again this did drive all adults crazy trying to determine what my issue is
I just wanna snooze geez is it so hard to believe
but yeah maybe i should have still went to school to snooze eh

speaking of which i guess i was doing it wrong all along i could have simply vanished from existence for few hours and filled my social need that was getting low at home

I realised I was washing my dishes in the wrong sink. I now know to wash them in the bathroom sink even if the kitchen is right behind the bathroom.

I have got so use to them doing that now that I don't even realize its a bug anymore. At least they are washing the dishes and not putting them up on some impossible to reach ledge or shelf above a door or something. However the lets get up from the table and hug the person we just talked to five minutes ago with our food in our inventory and then sit back down again to eat it thing still makes me crazy.

I didn't know bookcases weren't just for books and decor. They also are a good place to store and hide dirty plates and glasses. :o

I've been meeting people the wrong way all these years. I could have just run down the stairs as fast as I can, out the door and ran up to a total stranger and asked them what they think about woohoo.

I could have saved money and not purchased a kitchen sink for my counter, the bathroom upstairs is just fine to wash some dishes.

And I've been doing other things wrong all these years, I keep forgetting to high five. :(
