That's like my favorite one here: https://www.degraeve.com/color-palette/
I like that you can copy in the url of a pic you find on the net and get a color palette made of it.

Wow, is it the 28th already? (Um, at least it's still the 28th here.) It feels like I was just running around buying everything for Thanksgiving, or even some mornings like I still haven't started yet. Anyway.
I'm checking in, and I've made enough progress to be comfortable. One gift is done other than a couple of minor details; I could have it ready for upload tomorrow if necessary. But another gift I'm working on is giving me fits, to the point where I don't think I can make it work the way I wanted, which is discouraging. I did find somewhat of a workaround, just not what I was hoping for, and it only addresses one of the problems.
On that note, does anyone know of a way to stop snow from showing up under a roof when the room isn't completely closed? I don't want to spoil the gift, so I won't post screenshots, but the gist of it is I have a second story that's smaller than the first, and snow piles under the half-gable roof covering the difference.
Imagine a 12x12 box on the ground with a 6x12 box centered above it, with a roof or combination of roofs covering the entire space. If I put a floor down on the 3x12 section of the second floor that's not inside the second-floor walls, snow shows up on that floor. If I don't put a floor down, there's no snow. I tried this with every standard roof in all kinds of combinations, and it happened every time. Putting down a flat roof didn't help either. Just to be thorough, I built a bunch of boxes in a new save and got the same result. No CFE, no friezes, no cheats at all except for TCE to change the season and weather.
Long story short, if anyone knows of a way to address this, or has a roof tutorial handy that also covers what to do about snow, please do share.
On the plus side, the playtesting went well, I mean other than my sims having to wade through snow when there was allegedly a roof over their heads.
Gifting Time (December 5th) is just around the corner!
Excited? I am!!
Tip 1:
Relax, all of your time and effort has paid off ... know that your gift/s will be loved by your Buddy and others.
Tip 2:
Once I have changed the thread title and left a comment indicating it is time ... Buddies may begin revealing who they were assigned as they present beautiful builds, special Sims and precious pets.
Tip 3:
Enjoy the festive fun to be found HERE during Gifting Time!
Yay! I know we were all quieter this year but I feel like we all needed something good and gift-y this year.
I figured the quiet was because people were working on/finishing their gifts. I agree about all of us needing something good and gift-y ... these past few years have been a "tiger of a different stripe" and tested each of us in ways we hadn't considered or expected. Mr Addy's work has pushed back the date to return to their physical office several times and the next tentative date is in February. He's considering continuing staying home and though I love him, I was really looking forward to having the house to myself again.
Our house is small and sound carries from one end to the other so nothing is kept secret if it gets mentioned while we're inside. Mr Addy and Sunshine wanted to discuss my Christmas present so they closed the office door and I hung out in the kitchen purposefully making noise so I couldn't hear anything ... just in case their whispering and the closed door wasn't enough.
...
Speaking of gift, the whisper whisper I was working on for mumble mumble are done and ready to be gifted come Gifting Time! Whoop Whoop

Haha, yeah, I'm kind of attached to working from home now myself, though I live alone, so I only have to hear myself talk. The motivation to build has been a nice distraction, too.
well i was bit worried my gift would not be ready in time but i just managed to pull through literally minutes before midnight in my time zone lol although my gift was done a couple days ago the problem is I'm not good at editing thumbnails as they look weird if their not square
Sounds like you were burning the midnight oil getting things ready @seaben
I know what you mean about editing thumbnails ~ even if I square the image size some still come out looking stretched.
my buddy is @hidihi now when i was first told YOU where my buddy i thought back over all the times we have communicated on this website and i really tried to make something i think you would like and when i think of what you usually say and what you make for the wonderful community of the sims 3 you come across as being vary light hearted so after a lot of thinking i thought since you like to play in supernatural island fairies might be fun and it's a good way to make a build that uses a lot of earthy colors so i hope you like your gift of the locklears and their fairy hut home read their back story/download https://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=9490912 also some pictures of their house
also happy holidays hidihi and @everyone who reads this .
Love the rounded roofing, lush landscaping and octagonal rooms. The family looks good in green and am in sure they will be rolling in the green whether it be simoleons or gardens, lol
Hello, Buddy!
We've known each other for a while @seaben so it was fun reading your Buddy Letter and finding out more about the way you play your game. Hopefully, my interpretation of your wishes are a hit and not a miss. One word of warning: While making this, I discovered store content showing up as base game items & tried my best to catch and remove/replace so hopefully {fingers crossed} nothing is there that shouldn't be. If you discover otherwise, please let me know and I will be glad to make corrections and re-upload because I want your gifts to be ready-to-play.
Okay, this took a bit of wrestling-with-the-controls (and a pause for breakfast) but even though I couldn't commit to being a buddy, I did want to be part of this, so here's a Christmas renovacy.

How cute! The round roofs, the nice colors, and the lush landscaping all speak to the fact that this is indeed a home for fairies.
The only kind of garden I can grow is a virtual one.
