Turn over a new leaf is a very lovely and creatively designed modern home! @luckyheather The leaf theme of the build is very great! It reflects the inspiration home very well! The leaf exterior design and leaf stripe patterning is lovely! Very nice leaf shape pools, and great leaf shaped garden beds! The roof covered outdoors bar is very nice. Sims will enjoy sitting on the stools having drinks. Very nice sunken patio with restful plants. They will enjoy listening to music whilst sitting there. The interior furnishings are very lovely! The plants look so very nice both in the rooms and outdoors throughout the home! Very nice leaf shape of the rooms, and the white and green colours give a great look and feel to the home. The glass windows walls are very nice bringing in sunlight. It is a lovely light filled home! The open plan layout is very nice
Thank you so much @rosemow for those wonderful comments about the Leaf design home, I had such fun trying to recreate the original home, it was lucky that Spa Day had similar wall cover for the outside. Im glad you liked the leaf shapes and the bar outside, I just had to make the home more fun for sims as the original garden only had plants beds for harvest planting. I was inspired by the new kit and that TS3 home as its so unique. Thanks again for your observant and kind review.
@rosemow Thank you so much for your lovely words about my lot! 🌹 It was fun to finally make a little 'dream home' (my type of dream) for the lot at the top of the waterfall (Henford-on-Bagley). Now I just wish we could have one irl! Wouldn't that be a wonderful location to live?
@luckyheather Your new lot (Turn Over a New Leaf) is so creative, beautiful, and well-done... as always!
1930’s themed with the James Herriot family and country vet clinic in mind! The family can ‘technically’ own a small home and live on this lot instead. The lot includes a #VetClinic and home for a large family, some all-season plants + oversized crop bed, fishing pond, cow/llama/chicken pens & buildings, & is pet ready! ♥ Note: NoMods, NoCC, PlayTested
A fishing pond with bridge, and the garden, are in the left side yard.
The back yard contains a shed with candle-making, flower-arranging, and woodworking benches. It also has a llama shed, a cow shed, and a chicken coop.
The right side yard has an alternate entrance to the clinic area/lab/vet office, and has pet training equipment.
The main floor is loosely based on some design and utilitarian aspects of the Herriot clinic/home, from what I can tell via photos of the time period, museum of the home, pics of Herriot, and tv sets. I also used heavy creative license in that I was making this a country farm lot also, not an in-town, tall and thin storefront/home. I kept the two exam rooms, lab, office/study, and sunroom it appeared to have. I also added the semi-formal living room and dining room (to entertain) on this floor. There is also a kitchen and family/everyday dining table and mudroom. The lot is themed for a 1930's time-period and English countryside setting.
I had no pics of the living quarters, only the main floor. The second floor includes the family sleeping quarters.
The dormer upstairs is intended for the vets/brothers that owned the home and lived with them, Siegfried and Tristan. I did read that they lived upstairs.
The basement is where the housekeeper's room and 'canning/baking kitchen' is - also for group cooking! It also includes a storage room and family room.
Herriot Vet Clinic is a very beautiful Vet Clinic and home! @SheriGR It is very lovely that you based it on the James Herriot family and his country vet clinic! It is a very lovely home for a vet and their family! You have put so much work into it! The exterior design is very nice. Each of the interior levels have been designed and furnished in a very lovely way! The rugs are very nice. The fishing pond with bridge is pretty! The animal sheds and chicken coop area is great! Very pretty blossoms! Very nice gardening area!
It is a lovely vet clinic and family farm home
Thanks very much @SheriGR You Vet Clinic is stunning, I read the books and watched the TV series in the past, the books were so amusing they really showed you the funny side of being a country vet like delivering a calf or caring for some rich ladys dog like Tricky woo if I got the name right
Created on Hound's Head lot in Brindleton Bay this Gothic revival comprises 11 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms, parlour, study, library, games room, kitchen, dining room, conservatory, art studio, craft room, secret sceance chamber, science lab, ballroom, observatory plus a basement with laundry, butler's quarters and swimming pool. Lots of activities outdoors as well as a mausoleum, graveyard and underground crypt
@masajo Oh my goodness, Wolfstone Revisited is amazing and quite an epic build!!! You never cease to amaze me, young lady!!
@JojoMOMSTER Thank you for the encouraging and your kind words!!
@luckyheather Thank you so much for your comments and encouragement!! @PugLove888 and I were chatting with some friends 6months or so ago about the Herriot family books and series, and when Country Living came out we decided that creating a vet clinic/home for them and the household would be fun to do... and fun to play. I made this lot with the household PugLove888 created in mind. I wanted to make it a country home, not an in-town one, so I combined what I could find image-wise of the rl family, the museum, and the series(s). Then I took liberal creative license with the other home areas both for the new layout (not being a town-home, etc.) and for what would be needed to have this household function (maintaining the home and vet clinic functionality) within the game correctly. (Plus to add features form CL like a functioning pond, garden, farm animals, etc.)
It's a super-busy home to run, but if you're up for the challenge it's also lots of fun! It's designed to house the 'housekeeper' in the basement 'apartment' (which also functions as a second/canning kitchen area and family room), the brothers (one of which owned the building) living in the dormer upstairs (I'm of the understanding they lived upstairs in the rl building), the Herriot family rooms are on the 2nd floor, and the common living areas and vet clinic rooms (+ office & lab) are on the main floor. There are also doors &/or gates in positions to allow for various needed access designations when the clinic is open. (Also, see at the end of the slideshow there are tip/notes that I added about playing the lot, since there are some tricks such as having them 'technically' own a different home, but how to successfully have them living in this one: https://imgur.com/gallery/67ztAu0).
Wolfstone Revisited is such a very, very beautiful home! @masajo It is so very, very detailed! It is very lovely! There are so many special features, details, and the furnishing, design, layout and colours of each room and area are so very beautiful! It is such an elegant, lovely and special home! The exterior design, the outdoors areas, and each area of the interior are so very, very great!
The Next is a lovely modern home! @illusie Very stylish exterior design, lovely white and black/brown colours and very nice windows. The pool and loungers patio with marble flooring is very nice! The sunken area is great! Very lovely furnishing of the interior! The black, white and yellow colours are very stylish and nice! The bedrooms are beautiful! The wall patterns are very nice and great vanity table areas. The study and art room is very nice. Sims will have great outdoors views through the window whilst using the computer. The rooftop terrace is lovely! Very nice sofa and armchairs sitting area, and great outdoors dining area to enjoy eating food cooked on the bbq or from the buffet table. Sims will enjoy relaxing in the hot tub. Very nice sauna room. The easel art balcony is very nice.
It is a very nice home!
Blooming Whimsical is a lovely makeover of the home! @luckyheather The pretty white and blue colours, open shutter windows, pond and flowers are lovely! Very nice bbq and outdoors dining area on the front patio. The gardening and woodworking area is great! Very lovely interior furnishings! The nautical touches through the home both inside and outdoors are very nice! The floral wallpattern is pretty! Very nice fireplace sofa and armchair sitting area for sims to enjoy watching tv. The tv is very nice on the fish tank table. The pet bed area is great! The kitchen and eat in dining area with round table is very nice! The windows used through the home are pretty! The outdoors deck areas are very nice! Sims will enjoy having drinks from the bar, playing chess, doing flower arranging on the flower arrangement table, great pets gym nook, and very nice gardening area.
It is a very lovely home!
4 Bed Industrial Starter is a lovely family starter home! @luckyheather The industrial style of the home, the exterior design, wall textures, industrial windows and the roofing are great! Very nice grey colour scheme. The flowers and plants through the outdoors areas are very nice! Very nice gardening patch area. Sims will enjoy making drinks using the fizzy drinks machine, The pergola with the machine in it is great! The interior furnishings and open plan layout is very nice!
I have posted more on your showcase thread.
Thanks very much @rosemow for pointing out what you liked about the Industrial starter and for saying what sims will enjoy using in and around the home. I did have to delete a few things to keep the price down but got there in the end. It was a relief when my builder sim could use the loft bed as it just fit there Thanks again.
Five Drinks Bar is a lovely outdoors island bar for Sulani! @ThaPhoenix1 Very great design and very nice natural wood texture of the roofing and flooring. The bar counter and stools area is great! The greenery, trees and plants are lovely
