Triple Wedding? UPDATE

GalacticGalGalacticGal Posts: 28,579 Member
My Cantrell males are at Uni, living in the same dorm with the Golden triplets. Erik and Kayleigh are an item; Aaron and Sandi are an item and Joey and Astrid are an item. Lots of love going around. I intend for the couples to marry shortly after they graduate. They are fast approaching the end of their Second Term. So, the question is, should all three couples marry in one massive wedding? Or do they each get married in their own, separate ceremony?

I think having one wedding for all three couples is a beautiful idea, but considering how Sims 4 Weddings tend to go I'd say to avoid it. Getting one couple married is hard enough sometimes, you know?

I think each couple need their own special day. They won't have to share the spotlight with the others. Plus, isn't Erik your celebrity sim? If so, he's already going to be overshadowing everyone anyway. No need to add insult to injury.

I mean if you don't do the triple wedding mayhem with this group, when else are you going to have the opportunity?

3 weddings in 1 I expect an angry bride... I see it now as she yells at her husband that its her special day while he explains do you know how much we saved.

Why bother with wedding? Just skip to living together.

But if we are being a bit more silly then I'd go with 3 separate weddings.

Give them their own weddings and let them have their own special moment. When each couple have their own wedding pictures and the like, you can get the three couples together later for a big picture and then a massive after-wedding party. if you do it right, it would make the red wedding from GoT look like a bit of harmless fun.

I don't know that it is, but I can put up three wedding arches and send each couple to their own. Most likely, the ceremonies will happen one at a time, like birthdays for twins. But, it should be interesting, should I take this route.

That's a very good point, which has crossed my mind, too. He'll inadvertently suck all the oxygen from the room, as it were.

Having them simply live together goes against my Core Values, of which I do my best to play by. :)

Or, he replies, 3 in 1, let Erik foot the bill. He's got it in spades. LOL

I would also imagine the triplets do everything together, they are dating/engaged to brothers after all. I would imagine each one would want just one day of their own.

If you do all three at once can we have screenshots and a detailed description of how it went? I want to see if this is at all possible.

This please! I am debating a double wedding for my NSB challenge so insight would be appreciated.

But that is only if you choose this route 🙂

All three at once sounds like it has a great deal of potential for mishaps and hilarity, which are... totally what weddings are about?

So, I actually did the triple wedding thing once. I had one family where 3 siblings all became engaged around the same time. Since I didn’t want to push their weddings out across multiple rotations, they all got married together.

A few things to keep in mind if you go this route:

First, the game will always recognize only one bride and groom. This doesn’t affect the other couples’ ability to get married at the same party, though. Since you mentioned that all 6 sims already live on the same lot, you also won’t have to worry about setting wedding dresses/suits ahead of time. (My sims’ spouses did not live with them, so one of the brides wore her normal formal attire.)

You also don’t need three separate arches, unless you literally want them to get married at the same time. My group took turns with a single arch.

I have the bigger/ longer parties mod in my game, but if you don’t, you’ll have to work fast to get all three couples married before the party ends. But it’s definitely do-able.

I think you should have some drama. Have one wedding get planned properly, then have a jealous sibling insist that they want their wedding right away to beat the other sibling to the alter but have the wedding go terrible and have the third elope :D>:)
The Sims is NOT a game, it's a lifestyle choice.

My Plumbob is GREEN today :D

I've played this family so many times due to game save corruptions, Player Malfunction, Mod gone bad, you name it, I've restarted it. In every game save my Global Superstar married a different Sim. Once his family life got underway, however, I found myself bored. Couldn't quite figure out what the problem was until I inadvertently caused a major upheaval. I use the MCCC mod and forgot that when you have over 8 Sims in a household and take the family into cas.fulleditmode, the ones over that magic number get immediately culled. Of all the Sims to be culled (and I only had 9 Sims, just so you know) it was Erik's fiancée. Face/palm. Of course. There was all kinds of drama leading up to his decision. He had three females in the dorm whom he had romantic feelings toward. He took each of them out, one at a time, of course. When Tamela beat up one of his adoring Fans, however, Erik drew the line. Then he kissed Gem in sight of Tamela, whom he didn't realize was in the dorm foyer, so to speak. Then Tamela insister Erik's only sister, Brianna, put in a good word for her to her brother. It was drama galore. LOL

In another game save, Aaron and Sandi (Beeches) at that time, decided during their Keg Party after graduation to 'tie the proverbial knot' right there in the dorm!

The idea of the triplets came to me, after Erik's disaster. Gem just disappeared. I wrote that she left him a note and the rock he'd purchased for her and said, "I'm sorry." He was nearly destroyed, almost lost his career in his devastation. Was overly fond of the juice, if you will. One day, when he was ready to come out of hiding, he's sitting at a bar and in walks the One. Kayleigh Golden. She was newly divorced with a Toddler and Erik fell in love.

Another mod-buster patch and this scenario grew. I recreated Kayleigh, giving her parents and two sisters. This is the making of my Main Game save. I loved his domestic life and was no longer bored. He just needed the right bride. The other two brothers married her sisters, breaking from my original mini-series backstory for my Original/Character. I think allowing myself to throw away the 'script' as it were, gave me fodder to further explore the possibilities. Before Erik and Kayleigh, alone with their infant son, Jamison, moved into their very own house, Joey and Hayleigh eloped. They moved in with Erik's family. (Med student, low on funds.)

When we got the latest mod-busting patch, I set up a second TEST save so that I didn't inadvertently cause a corruption in my Main Save. So, once again, I relied upon my Cantrell family. I was all about testing the Road to Fame mod, that I need to have my singer Sim, you see. So, I reset the scenario a tad, by changing out the names of Kayleigh's sisters. I made them identical this go around whereas before Kayleigh and Hayleigh were identical and Regina, not. I gave Kayleigh's sisters the names of the original brides from my mini-series, Sandi and Astrid. I'm still playing around with how I'm going to do their weddings. Also, this time I've got all of them in the same Dorm at Britechester-U, so I can control them. In my Main Save the triplets were in the dorm next door, but I didn't control them, so they eventually dropped out of university. We'll see what happens, though. I do post in the "What Happened in Your Game Today, the Non-Serial Version." Just bits and pieces. But, once it's time for wedding(s) I'll cover them, fully.

Just wanted to note, that one of the previous brides of Erik decided to call the media to their exclusive wedding venue. This angered Erik, as he thought they had decided on something more intimate. Family and a few friends. She was an orphan, so part of him realized she needed more on her side of the aisle, but with his celebrity status, it was too much. He apologized to the gathering, making it his fault, saying his bride had changed her mind … etc. to stay and enjoy the food and the music and thank you so very much for coming. (She was a witch on a broom, pardon the saying.)

UPDATE: Okay, here's the rundown on how it went. I did have all three weddings in a single day, but I discovered when setting up the original Event, you can only have one bride and groom — However, you can add additional weddings on that very same day. The only catch is that you can only have One Goaled Event on any given date. So, I set up Erik & Kayleigh's wedding, first, as he knows the Golden family and could invite them. But, I only allowed for an hour between the weddings. Whatwas I thinking? They are now living in a huge home (would make a really nice hotel) and the backyard is nicely landscaped, perfect for that outdoor wedding. I did forget how long it takes for guests to arrive to a home lot. Major mistake. The wedding clock kept ticking down and for a little while I feared no guests would even show up, let alone the hired help. First wedding was to be held at 9AM, the second at 10 AM the third by 11 AM. Well, the cakes were baked the evening before. With the delay of the guests showing up, all three tiered cakes were spoiled by the time the reception was to begin. I split the couples into their new family units, moved them all into their own abodes, and sent Brianna off on her mission with Starfleet.

This left me quite unhappy. So, the next day, I decided to see where my last (rolled back) save left things. I did have to repeat their last day of Uni, but that allowed me to make some necessary changes so that I might proceed in a more favorable mood over it.

I decided to change the location of that dwelling, for one. And when I set up the weddings it was at a new wedding venue I found in the Gallery. Very nice. Then I changed out tuxedoes (the color mainly for each groom) and dressed the brides accordingly. I had the weddings spaced at two hours apart. Long story short, it still didn't work out as planned. Face/palm.

Suffer me to say, I tried a third time (it being the charm, I hear) with the notion I would set the weddings three hours apart. I also changed the color of the tuxedoes back to where they were the first time, with the hope that some of the more charming photos captured from the ill-fated first wedding(s) would be useable. But, before I could do that, I had to use MCCC to remove their marriages, in fact I had to delete the relationships and cheat them back in place, which left the fellas having to ask their ladies to be their girlfriends and then propose again. But, it was a very small price to pay to get the weddings to come off better than the first two tries.

They are all safely married now. My recommendation is to put FOUR hours between weddings should any of you wish to try this. Despite it not coming off as nicely as single weddings have in my game-playing past, I am more satisfied with the third time through. Thank you all for your input.
