Or it simply has shown to the masses what people can really do when pushed. It's one thing to hear about somebody doing something on the TV or what have you and it's completely another matter when it's someone you can relate to in so way. A simmer, for example.

I dislike saying this, but history, even recent, has shown that fear is the most powerful motivator for people in large numbers to support something, even give up freedom for 'stability and security'. This virus is real, yet an excellent way to do it. I'm hoping this is just a 'nipping it in the bud'. Not a permanent thing. There have been many here that are sick and have died from the 'normal' flu.
Fear, hate, anger and the biggest of them all, desire to survive can drive men to do terrible things. Even to hurt themselves.
I have this sneaking suspicion that no one in governments would be too sad if all old people would suddenly pass away due to corona. It's an opportunity. It's all very dirty business. Keyword being business.
