Personally, I don't care that much about clothing or hairstyles, and even less about decorations, so a lot of the store content doesn't appeal to me all that much. (I've still bought some of it though. However, I love some of the premium content items. I don't know about "best" either, but getting the Man Cave Compilation for a total of 130 points was great. The basketball hoop is a nice addition, and the free throw machine and air hockey table are nice too.
The massage table from Sunlit Tides Gold (or the standalone Serenity Retreat, which goes on sale for 513 points) is also popular. The venue is nice too.
And you can always ask for advice in the Daily Deal thread. The regulars there are happy to help you figure out how to make the most of your points, and what might be cheap or free given the content you already own.
Hmm, I'll have to differ from @puzzlezaddict in that I really make good use of a lot of the decor from the Store and the hairstyles, too, and some of the clothing. I do agree about the premium content - I love a LOT of it. The MultiTab, already mentioned by @EA_Mai is very useful, and I can't live without the baker's oven (love that whole set and make good use of the decor items), the wood fired oven (from Monte Vista which is beautiful and I see you're already planning to get), the tea set from Brunch at the Old Mill (again I like a lot of the content from that set), the Teppanyaki Grill, the chicken coop from the Country Livin' set, the Humble Harvest Stand from the Al Fresco Street Market. I could go on. It may have been easier to list the few I don't use much.
My favorite objects are the multitab and the chicken coop. My favorite worlds are Monte Vista, Hidden Springs, and Riverview. I don’t really care much for new CAS items or objects that don’t add new gameplay.
There was a teddy bear couch once. I downloaded it in 2016, and then, I couldn't use it for some reason when I restarted the game the next day --- at least I got a screenshot of it, though!
I forgot my number one alltime favorite. Dragons. Basically Dragon Valley and the celtic set. Favorite world, love the clothes and build buy. Dragons! Archery set is fun too.
@suzses besides the architectural style of Monte Vista, the wood oven is one of the items that i want more in the store. Lasagna 😛
@JACKIEJOY how's the tractor set? Is it a gameplay item? Does it help with the crops? I like your choices! Already thinking about a farm
@Simtown15 Hidden Springs!! I completely forgot about that world! On my list right now the gameplay items are the main focus of my attention but there are some interesting clothes that i have my eyes on, specially the ones that might help with the decades challenge. I have been looking over and over again in the store and i always think about that challenge. There are so many options in clothing and furniture! I don't know how i'll make my mind 😂
@divanthesimmer if i could i would get them all!! 😂 Sunlit Tides and Monte Vista maybe first...
@coolsim9999999 what happenend? Did it disapeared? I think i saw that one in a set of furniture for children rooms, the animal set i think...
Does anyone has the canning station? I want to do something more with my harvestables. What about the rollercoaster? Is it a rabbit hole? Do we have to build it ourselves?
The tractor is fun but the track takes a lot of space so you need the large lots. It waters, fertilizes, and harvest crops while raising the gardening skill very quickly. Just remember to make multiple passes for each task to make sure all the plants get tended. The only thing I have a problem with is people wanting hay rides. Some stranger will wander onto your lot and your Sim will drop everything to go on a hayride. Its not big deal but is annoying if you are trying to get something important done. The basketball hoop does the same thing.
While I am a city girl, I wanted my sims to be able to live on a working farm. I was thrilled when farming items were released especially Grandpa's Grove and Grandpa's Grove Tractor. I also find the SwiftGro Gardening Station from the Stones Throw Greenhouse an essential tool for gardening.
I use the Sandy Shoals Sea Shanty house a lot in my games. I like the layout and the design of the house. I do remove the seagull spawner on the roof though to stop the seagull noises. This is a Featured Look set so the items included in the set come from other sets.
I agree with others that the MultiTab 6000 is a very useful premium item. That is usually one of the first items I have my sims purchase.
Wedding sets! Sometimes my sims have private weddings, but when I want them to have the full wedding experience Romanza Ceremony, Reception + Attire gives me so many options for a beautiful wedding. I also like to use pieces from Live, Laugh, Love wedding set especially the Floral Updo hair.
I could still list so many more sets, objects, clothing and hair.
When I was playing for achievement badges, I had created a game folder that only included the base game, expansion packs and stuff packs. I own the store so I wanted my game to load faster without having all the store items installed. Since I was focusing on getting badges, I wasn't creating households for long term play so I thought I wouldn't miss the store items. I was wrong. I would often search the in-game catalog for items only to realize they were from the store.

I'm already with my eyes on Sunlit Tides (and Monte Vista) and the greenhouse!!
Definitely check out the DD thread. For example, Sunlit Tides is on the Daily Deal (DD) list for 1127 simpoints which is 54% off the regular price of 2450 simpoints. Its venue Serenity Retreat is also on the DD. The Stones Throw Greenhouse is available 5 times on the DD list. The best price is 760 simpoints which is 56% off the regular price.
I've just recently gone back to watching the Daily Deals and trying to pick up the few things I don't already own from the store and it's renewing my love of ALL my store content, but I've especially been enjoying Brunch at the Old Mill, especially the L-Shaped Storied Tale Stairs. I also love the ones in the Prism Art Studio venue - I always have a lot of artistic sims, lol, so I love that whole set a lot, actually.
I'm only going to count single items (so no worlds, lots, or sets).
Of those, my favorite by far is a hair. I know some people really detest EA hair but most CC hair never sat right by me even if a lot of it isn't done badly or anything.
If my memory serves me right, I had that hair and another hair (The Blake) on my wish list, and I THOUGHT I wanted the latter more, and another member gifted me the one above instead, but then I actually ended up liking it more. I wonder if she's still around, I want to say she had "blue" in the name, maybe with some numbers, but it would have been around a decade ago.
Followups would probably be some other hair and clothing pieces. I do like, and use a lot, some of the build mode stuff, but my favorite few are probably all clothes and hair.

My favorite world is Lucky Palms. It reminds me of Sedona, Arizona which I love.
One of my favorite objects is the Wonderfully Woven Hanging Chair from the Bohemian Garden Set. The weave of the chair is so detailed.

Last one is over the top for sure, but I usually often find a use for it.
