My big worry with the lack of Simgurus leaking information.

I actually just think it's coming up on Halloween and so they are marketing the sale. I'd guess that they are holding off on serious marketing for university until next month because certain packs are more likely to sell at this time of year than at other times. (Cough, cough, Spooky which I actually like now that there's actual autumn with Seasons.)

In terms of gameplay and features, I'll wait to know more information. I would expect a university pack to primarily revolve around university and only really change careers and college-planning in households for the other worlds. If they were to patch in private schools, I'd be thrilled.

As for the concerns about pack depth, it's a fair question and I'd advise waiting for reviews before buying if there are concerns. I don't really make my decisions based on the reviews of others aside from liking Carl. I look at information for myself and make my own decisions.

I understand about IL. It was a really gorgeous world and added a number of things that I wanted like beach swimming and loungers. It was a little thin on more than a gorgeous world and tropical theme.

I will say that when it comes to packs like StrangerVille, RoM, etc, I don't quite understand when people get the packs then grind as fast as they can singlemindedly using cheats, etc, then complain about how easy the gameplay is. I'm not saying that's you, but I mean, if I played that way, I probably wouldn't have fun. I'm referring to the people who "beat StrangerVille in a few hours." I don't know, it took me like 2 weeks but I made a well-rounded sim and didn't singlemindedly force her to grind or use cheats. Just because you can do something doesn't mean you have to or should.

I think the complaint about spells only making things easy is valid though and a fair point. I wish they could add a bit more later on to some of these packs based on feedback.
    Champ and Girlie are dogs.

Since University was my #1 anticipated EP I would end up getting it anyway, but I do understand your concern on the lack of info. Looking forward to the livestream hopefully all our questions will be answered.

The screenshot of the Target inventory scanner was more exciting than the actual reveal video.

If you tweet or "leak" too much info, then there's nothing left for the LS. And that means the pack is weak. Prove me wrong EA.

The pack will disappoint in some way without question. Pretty much every pack in these generation has.

People are already upset at lack of bunk beds, pool tables, and no child bikes. Which none of that has been confirmed but some of that stuff was never a given anyways.

I do think this pack has potential to be one of the best, or at least better than Island Living, with what we already know so far but I already know there's going to be a feature or features that aren't going to be fully realized and its going to disappoint all of us.

That's just kinda how's it been with the Sims 4.

I think I'm the only one who's really noticed but the initial trailer for each pack usually show all of the big features while we find out the smaller details later by the gurus. Usually on Twitter but they are being different this time around.

I think they have something else there working on that will be added in a patch and they don’t want to ruin the surprise until the day. Gurus have a tendency to by mistake leak info. So I think there just keeping it hush hush so they can at least surprise us with something.

I'm wondering this myself. There's usually a pretty big patch before most largely anticipated expansions and I'm more curious to learn what will be in this one. If it's something that greatly affects the gameplay of DU, then answering questions might be a little tricky. We certainly need more base game updates, there's plenty that they could/should be working on. I don't really want to hope or hype, but the upcoming patch is actually my main focus right now.

I'm glad about the lack of twitter replies, because when they do reply everyone and their mother think they have the most interesting unique questions ever, and ask things that have already been said again and again, without bothering to check first.

I do like information, but I really dislike the twitter community acting entitled every. single. time. It's physically painful to witness.

I'm pretty sure the simgurus are officially not allowed to talk about anything which has not been revealed in trailers or stated on official sites. And the trailer showed barely anything so they have barely anything they are allowed to talk about.

When they do answer some questions it is probably because they want to be nice and share some things the "unofficial way".

I honestly think the Guru's have a habbit of revealing too much info before the release of most packs (after they've been announced), so I don't mind the silent treatment for now, I've been trying to get into the habbit of not spoiling too many details of a pack before I purchase it myself, so no complaints from my end.

It might even be a response to all the backlash after IL and ROM; people are so cautious and disappointed, they may not be wanting to feed into that (but are, adversely, still doing so).

I’ve waiting for this pack for ages and I’m very, very curious to see what’s in it. I have no issues with the trailer and I don’t find it superficial in the sense that it just tells a story. But I would have like a blog post or two.

There was a blog post the day they put up the reveal trailer - here: https://www.ea.com/games/the-sims/the-sims-4/news/discover-university-reveal

It really didn't reveal anything else we didn't see in the trailer though.

Well they can't make trailer after trailer about the same half dozen items. So, no info until the LS. And with a possibly lite pack (Sims 5 should be named Sims Lite, you know it will be worse than S4) and a promise to move quickly through the Build/Buy and CAS, that means to fill up the two (?) hours promised, there will be a ton of useless, mind-numbing banter about carp no one cares about, distracting them from showing whatever they were going to show before they wandered off the path yet again. If it's as bad as I'm fearing, it will probably make me yearn for the good old days of Morgan and Ninja being "juiced" for two hours during that last teeth grinding Guru Garage Setup where they had to take a poll for every little thing. Giggle giggle giggle.

Does anyone working at Maxis have any spare A.D.D. meds just in case things get too off track? :D

I enjoy building more so than role playing with the Sims so any expansion that gives me more build items, furniture, etc., is a win-win. Can't wait to buy it!

Remember when there were world and gameplay (sometimes 2) videos weekly until release?
~I just like lifestates. Is that too much to ask for?~

IMO, this is more evidence that S4 is winding down. They just can't seem to be bothered to hype packs much anymore.

God forbid they enjoy themselves on a live stream. Gaming is serious business.

We get to see a live stream on the 8th, before the pack is released. That will be enough time for me to decide if I still want to buy it. Sure it would be nice to get more info earlier, but it doesn't worry me that we haven't.

I have absolutely no problem with the devs "enjoying" themselves. They should enjoy talking about a pack that they worked so hard on. But the point of a Live Stream is to convey information. If the enjoyment slows down, blocks, replaces or impedes that flow of information in any way, shape or form, then the entire purpose of the devs airing and hosting a LS and the reason that we watched that LS is mute. Why waste my time with an overabundance of frivolity and silliness that is unnecessary. Have fun, but get to the info, especially if it's concerning a pack that is offering little info to begin with.

I would prefer no more leaks until the live stream, because the previous leaks cause me to be less excited about the pack. I would prefer to hear from the official team so that I can set my expectation accordingly.

With how fast chat goes by during Live-streams, I wish they would collect all the questions beforehand and before or during gameplay announce the question then answer it by showing the gameplay specific for it if it’s there.

And also might as well let the YouTube Game Changers they have start showing gameplay around the same time to give more info.

Here is the thread. I linked it to SimGuruFrost and Lyd. Frost came into the thread and thanked people for the questions.

A death in the family months ago and my Origin page being messed up nearly all year caused me to not be able to play hardly at all. After my account was fixed the first time, I bought Strangerville on sale and Island Living. I barely got to play. As soon as I bought them, my account was messed up again and I just left it until I couldn't even play Sims4 offline. Finally, they sent me an update that said something about a new version of Origin and my Sims4 game updated. Because of the mess, I didn't get to buy ROM. So, not sure how all the play is going, but you mentioned about how easy some things are. Personally, I don't like leveling up jobs, skills, relationships, or anything else. It seems like work instead of fun. I hate it because all that leveling up keeps me from the play ideas I have. I wish jobs and college had a difficulty slider. Easy, middle of the road, and difficult. That way those who are interested in storylines ECT. can choose easy while simmers who like a challenge can have their play style. If it's too much like work, then I don't consider it fun. I play to get away from that. I will also say there are things that they didn't include that I was disappointed about. Hammocks, houseboats, an underwater spot, a real crystal ball and in the jungle one, a store where Sims can buy goods like in the Sims3. I wish they had kept the tables for Sims selling deals on supplies. Also wished pets hadn't taken up household spaces.

What I do hope for is teaching, reading, questions, and some good game play in that way. However, not hard to get good grades.

I am hoping for space savers, Murphy bed, couch bed, ability to sit on the ground, a new drink/ snack machine with different items than the one we have, energy drinks we can buy easily. Relationships with the professor would be neat for some games. More relationship interactions would be nice to have. Also want some interesting things out of roommates. Can't wait to see the Livestream.

Things I love so far are the mini fridge, shower woohoo, shower stalls😀, bikes😀, and 2 colleges. Having two was a wonderful surprise and I have already come up with sanarios for that.

Will be getting it ASAP if my Origin holds out.

@davina1221 one of the simgurus said in twitter Murphy beds aren’t coming in this pack, but it doesn’t mean it won’t be coming in another instead

Sorry for your loss and I hope your account issues clear up quickly. It sounds like you have a lot of plans if you can just get things running in your direction. Good luck & happy simming.
