My big worry with the lack of Simgurus leaking information.

In terms of gameplay and features, I'll wait to know more information. I would expect a university pack to primarily revolve around university and only really change careers and college-planning in households for the other worlds. If they were to patch in private schools, I'd be thrilled.
As for the concerns about pack depth, it's a fair question and I'd advise waiting for reviews before buying if there are concerns. I don't really make my decisions based on the reviews of others aside from liking Carl. I look at information for myself and make my own decisions.
I understand about IL. It was a really gorgeous world and added a number of things that I wanted like beach swimming and loungers. It was a little thin on more than a gorgeous world and tropical theme.
I will say that when it comes to packs like StrangerVille, RoM, etc, I don't quite understand when people get the packs then grind as fast as they can singlemindedly using cheats, etc, then complain about how easy the gameplay is. I'm not saying that's you, but I mean, if I played that way, I probably wouldn't have fun. I'm referring to the people who "beat StrangerVille in a few hours." I don't know, it took me like 2 weeks but I made a well-rounded sim and didn't singlemindedly force her to grind or use cheats. Just because you can do something doesn't mean you have to or should.
I think the complaint about spells only making things easy is valid though and a fair point. I wish they could add a bit more later on to some of these packs based on feedback.
People are already upset at lack of bunk beds, pool tables, and no child bikes. Which none of that has been confirmed but some of that stuff was never a given anyways.
I do think this pack has potential to be one of the best, or at least better than Island Living, with what we already know so far but I already know there's going to be a feature or features that aren't going to be fully realized and its going to disappoint all of us.
That's just kinda how's it been with the Sims 4.
I think I'm the only one who's really noticed but the initial trailer for each pack usually show all of the big features while we find out the smaller details later by the gurus. Usually on Twitter but they are being different this time around.
I'm wondering this myself. There's usually a pretty big patch before most largely anticipated expansions and I'm more curious to learn what will be in this one. If it's something that greatly affects the gameplay of DU, then answering questions might be a little tricky. We certainly need more base game updates, there's plenty that they could/should be working on. I don't really want to hope or hype, but the upcoming patch is actually my main focus right now.
I do like information, but I really dislike the twitter community acting entitled every. single. time. It's physically painful to witness.
When they do answer some questions it is probably because they want to be nice and share some things the "unofficial way".
There was a blog post the day they put up the reveal trailer - here: https://www.ea.com/games/the-sims/the-sims-4/news/discover-university-reveal
It really didn't reveal anything else we didn't see in the trailer though.

In dreams - I LIVE!
In REALITY, I simply exist.....
Does anyone working at Maxis have any spare A.D.D. meds just in case things get too off track?
IMO, this is more evidence that S4 is winding down. They just can't seem to be bothered to hype packs much anymore.
God forbid they enjoy themselves on a live stream. Gaming is serious business.
I have absolutely no problem with the devs "enjoying" themselves. They should enjoy talking about a pack that they worked so hard on. But the point of a Live Stream is to convey information. If the enjoyment slows down, blocks, replaces or impedes that flow of information in any way, shape or form, then the entire purpose of the devs airing and hosting a LS and the reason that we watched that LS is mute. Why waste my time with an overabundance of frivolity and silliness that is unnecessary. Have fun, but get to the info, especially if it's concerning a pack that is offering little info to begin with.
I remember the complaining
Hope it's cars but also they haven't announced the Maxis Monthly yet either.
Here is the thread. I linked it to SimGuruFrost and Lyd. Frost came into the thread and thanked people for the questions.

What I do hope for is teaching, reading, questions, and some good game play in that way. However, not hard to get good grades.
I am hoping for space savers, Murphy bed, couch bed, ability to sit on the ground, a new drink/ snack machine with different items than the one we have, energy drinks we can buy easily. Relationships with the professor would be neat for some games. More relationship interactions would be nice to have. Also want some interesting things out of roommates. Can't wait to see the Livestream.
Things I love so far are the mini fridge, shower woohoo, shower stalls😀, bikes😀, and 2 colleges. Having two was a wonderful surprise and I have already come up with sanarios for that.
Will be getting it ASAP if my Origin holds out.
Sorry for your loss and I hope your account issues clear up quickly. It sounds like you have a lot of plans if you can just get things running in your direction. Good luck & happy simming.
