Putting Off Playing, Because I'm Afraid of the Outcome

Hi. I know I have mentioned this a little in another thread, but now I'm in quite the quandary. I have recently restarted my potential Rock Star in a brand new save, playing his rise to fame a tad differently than before. I keep hoping he'll be nominated for and/or win an Accolade. So, I changed out my strategy. Now, I'm on the cusp. Things have taken a rather curious twist in my game and I'm almost afraid to play it, not wishing for the outcome that might be.
Seems, my now Global Superstar who has six albums released and 14 tracks, plus a few licensed lyrics, still garners the audience and is on the top of his game. He is now called rather frequently for photo-shoots so his image can grace a magazine. He even had a photoshoot on his wedding day. It was a Destination Wedding, where they rented a place in Sulani and scheduled their wedding to take place there. Early on that morning, he was able to have the professional photographers and their crew come to him for the photo session. A cool §10,000 for his effort.
Most of those invited turned out for the wedding on the off-the-grid lot they rented. No cake, but plenty of food and drink. Gold medal awarded. I took the newlyweds home to his recently built mansion and then Erik decided it was time to lay down some new songs for another album. He was gone for much of the day. Tamela didn't mind. She's an aspiring Best Selling author and penned an excellent biography of Erik while they were still just dating. She goes to check the mail and lo, and behold, what does she find? I saw the word nominated and my heart skipped, then I read it better and she's the one nominated for an Accolade for said biography. She's informed she needs to be there at 7 PM on Sunday, to see if she wins.
While I should be ecstatic that a playable Sim of mine has this honor, it's really, really, REALLY bugging me that she got nominated for a book she wrote, over Erik's endless production of music. He's even got one of his tracks playing at various venues!
This is very hard for me, because I do know that at least for me in this game, once something new has occurred it's very thrilling that first time and not so special in the future. I wanted very much to experience a nomination and/or win with and for Erik.
Any advice is welcome. I am considering starting yet another reboot, if you will. Taking another tactic to see if that will get him a win.
Also, if this has happened to you, what did you do? Or what would you do in my shoes?

Yeah, Tamela is a Notable Newcomer. She just finished and published her third book. The first one was a fantasy, and while it is considered excellent, hasn't drawn much attention. The biography is about Erik, however, so perhaps it's a slight nod to him, too? Ah, now I'm just grasping at straws! Thank you so much for your response. I have much to consider.

He's skill level 10 in singing; charisma; guitar; writing. He gives out autographs like candy and interacts with his fans. He's been awarded a Gold award for a Meet & Greet, twice. He's won an award for philanthropy raising §10,000 for Charity. He's put out 7 albums, 16 singles, is often gracing the covers of magazines, but she's somehow better than him? She writes one book, a biography of HIM (how ironic, no?) and she gets nominated for her work. Face/palm. Oh, he also shows up at the Accolades to lend his support; he frequents the local talent nights all of the time. In fact he rarely misses them. Yet, he needs to work harder to get noticed? We won't talk of the many, many, many concerts he holds to record turn out.
Please, let me know what else he can do, because I'm at my wits' end.
And thank you so much for the response. I have continued playing this game save and when I open the game it will soon be the morning of the Accolades. But, I'm still torn. If I restart this Sim, I will save him to the library so I don't lose so much time.

Yeah, I thought of that, too. Too bad. I really like Tamela. She's got that girl-next-door air about her. Fresh, cute, freckle-faced. She has a set of parents, but no siblings. That is, perhaps, another reason to upload them both to my library, so that I don't have to redo skills so much as to give them more of a reboot in their relationship. This could end in disaster. He got divorced only once in Sims3 because his wife kept placing their newborn son out on the front lawn (at night) in the rain, while he was off performing a concert. Face/palm. Shades of the past come to haunt me? (That was totally autonomous, too I had nothing to do with it!) Just like I had no control over the nomination being sent for the writer in my game. Oi. Tamela is preggars, too. Babies don't save relationships as some may think. Babies are another stressor in an already stressed situation. Ho-hum. What to do, what to do …
This is killing me as it was the new game save where I was trying out a new approach to get the recognition for my singer. Short of having him join the Entertainment career, I'm out of ideas, here.
I do have an option under the Road to Fame mod, to 'create drama'. I really hate to facilitate a break-up. They just got married. And I would really hate that Erik is so petty. This was only her second book she wrote, too, while they were still dating. He's been working at his career since he was a teen. His is the true Overnight Success story, but the Accolades just don't care. They turn a deaf ear to those who make music their life. EA, please FIX this. A simple patch would do. All we need is a Simmy Awards night or a name to that affect. Sims' Choice Awards. Something that focuses on the Sims that sing, and/or writes music. Produce music tracks. Oi.
As you can see, I'm still procrastinating going into my game. I left them yesterday on late Saturday night. Had a BBQ to attend, myself. Had fun, but now I suppose I have to face the music …o
I think if she wins, I'm going to have to take the attitude, it was due to the subject matter, Erik, and his multitude of loyal fans made the book reach the Best Seller list. I say this while my lower lip quivers. I feel defeated in many ways. Ho-hum.

Last time my sims went to the Starlight Accords, Fiametta was the one nominated for her wlog, but instead it was her more famous boyfriend Cesare who won three awards for his books, despite not having been nominated at all. So you should have Erik attend with her, just in case. And if the outcome doesn't please you, just quit without saving.

No. Her category never came up and he was never invited to the stage for anything. I meant to add that when I posted the pictures. Thanks for caring. I'm sorry now, I didn't pick the blog I was doing on him back up. It's a very long story with mangled mods and patches and then the game targeting Erik for death. I had to restart from scratch, as the original file got corrupted. Hence, my hesitation to restart one. more. time.
By the way I love your username. I keep mine in a closet because if she ever gets out … well, let's just say you wouldn't like me if I got mad.

I don't know, but why bother giving us the ability to produce tracks if there is no recognition for such? I've also had him writing and licensing more lyrics in this rebooted game save, as others have suggested that's a way forward. Still, no dice. I'm about to regroup again and this time, once he becomes a YA see if joining the Entertainment Career, (as opposed to being self-employed as he is currently) will do the trick. I've played his life out more than a few times, with very differing results on which Sim he ends ups with and still, the only awards he gets are for Charity Events and Meet & Greets. They guy really knows how to throw a partay, I guess.

Yeah I agree. I get a feeling that maybe they forgot to make a Starlight Accolades award for it since you haven’t won one after all this time. Perhaps he should try his hand at acting, since my sims always manage to get nominated for an acting gig after a bit? I don’t think it’s uncommon for celebrities who made their name in different areas to later launch an acting career off the back of that success.

Those are all great fun! You really should start the blog up again. Erik's such a hilarious idiot sometimes. Dude, I can't imagine why she's mad at you just because you made swoony heart-eyes at her MOM. So unreasonable! I was like, ruuuuuuuuuun, Kaitlyn, run awaaaaaaaaaay! But I'm glad he managed to get hitched successfully in the end -- and no one died horribly at the wedding, even. The tall dark stranger in his future mostly seems to be Grim
It made me really want to make a superstar sim. I bought Get Famous, but I've never tried it out.
Just keep in mind that I also use the Road to Fame mod. That helps to augment things quite a bit. Erik is a Rock Star. The newest iteration of it, you have to make certain that you select options, however, to enable your Sim being reacted to, or you can leave it disabled. That's new. It got so bad in one game save with Erik, I had to cheat him the Player Cheat.
