another question this time for Gen 6. At the end of my current Gen (Gen 5) one of Gen 5's daughters going to have to give up the younger daughter (Selene) to her distant Grant cousin who have a daughter of their own. The Mom only last until their 2nd birthday- and her husband (a different distant cousin of the same Swanson family) marries a descnedant of the Calentine family who has her own two daughters- and Cousin 2 (the husband of Cousin 1)- also dies. When the kids are old enough the Foster Step-Mother cares a bit about Sara Wendy (Cousin 1 and Cousin 2's daughter) by at least on Olaffest day-giving her one toy well her (the Foster step-mother)'s own daughters gets lots! and LOTS AND LOTS of toys and Selene (The foster step-daughter and my heiress) gets 0 toys and has to at least clean the dishes and sweep and mop places. Well when the kids are teens which of the two Selene or Sara Wendy should be answering the door if Sara Wendy and the "Steps" are at home?
yeah it finally went the other way. for just over 4 years most of my conversations with sissy . were her explaining something and me saying i'm confused.
the day i asked what she taught she was nice and told me but it was sissy speak so my response was drat now i have to look it up anyway. i didn't she broke it down for me.
but before anyone else gets confused Chaninng is a boy.
Hey Writer's Lounge, hope everyone is having a fun and festive day.
Entering into LisaBee's revival of the Monthly SimLit Short Story Challenge has revived my writing spirit. As a reminder, the voting is open for top three in both the novice and veteran category so if you haven't already. Definitely go read all the entries, they are AMAZING!
But also, if you were interested, I have updated Spirit Guardian.

Your short story was great, as well as all the others. It's a really fun challenge and I decided to participate this month. I'll post a link to my story once it's up.

@divanthesimmer Awh thank you. Posting it and getting all the lovely feedback has been great. I'm looking forward to next months and rolling ideas around. Though I haven't a hundred percent settled just yet. I'll look forward to reading your entry. Half the fun is seeing the creativity of all the other entries.

You're welcome! I'm also looking forward to it. At first I thought: "A story challenge? Heck, I can't even get past the first chapters of my other stories". But that's the exact reason WHY I (and anyone) should be doing it. Now, I feel a little more motivated to get back to my other stories again (I just have to fix my mods and CC before that) and I'm learning some new things along the way. It's also really fun to see what others come up with.
@divanthesimmer@TheAemaSimming if you people want to take a break from your other stories-you could try a different story in a contest I'm hosting the link in the siggy "the Queen Anne behind the Anneorines" contest

I'd like to, but I can't come up with anything related to goddesses/queens at the moment. I'll let you know if I can think of something. I also really need to get back to my other stories and if I keep myself busy with too many projects, I'll never finish anything! I'm a huge procrastinator.

I will definitely look into it @MadameLee but I can't make any promises. I have just finally refueled my inspiration for the stories I already and need to ride the inspiration while it lasts. Still if something pops to mind I'll definitely participate.
Hi all! Still alive! Been struggling with writers block lately so been doing some other projects.
It feels a bit like catch 22; I want to write, but the words escape me - I want to play, but don't want to get too far ahead of myself.
Do you get writers block, and how do you deal with it?

All the time! Which is why I only have one chapter of each of my stories. When I read other's stories, it sometimes gives me inspiration. You could also just play the game (maybe with autonomy on full) and see where it leads you. If this doesn't help, maybe just read random stories or watch something on TV. You could also get out of the house and just observe your surroundings. I hope this helps.

This has absolutely zero to do with writing, but I thought you might find it inspiring... I know I certainly did!
This is a Short Video I saw earlier this evening as part of a Bike Film Fest:
