Merry Christmas/Christmas Eve to everyone ! Thank you everyone for the great comments about my Christmas dining room ! I really love everyone's rooms ! It's awesome to read about all the different Christmas traditions that are done in different countries ! @lsnishi it was also interesting to read how Christmas in Hawaii is different than in New England (part of the East coast of the U.S. because I've heard there's another New England somewhere in Australia) ! I guess each state in the United States has a few different side dishes or traditions, due regional favorites and temperature (and whenever a country has varying climates in different parts of the country .
I think it's due to all the different ethnicities in the U.S. @coolsim9999999. In Hawaii we have a lot of Asian cultures which means a lot of yummy food from China, Japan, Korea, the Phillippines, etc. So the food and traditions sort of get transplanted. I have a friend who grew up in New York and is Jewish who told me his family tradition is of course Hannukkah, but on Christmas, the tradition is that his family would go out and eat Chinese food (which he loves) because they were the only restaurants open on Christmas day.
BTW @MrsHosni, I visited Turkey 2x already and it's my favorite country to visit. Love the food and places to see & people were so friendly. I wouldn't mind going back.
@SimTresa You are so welcome, and thank you for sharing your nationality! As I mentioned in my post I am basically an American with European lineage with the majority being English/British. I'm fascinated and thankful to not only learn about the traditions from other countries but also to learn where others are from on this forum. It can be rather surprising and very cool to hear that someone is from a different country than where we assumed or guessed they were from. Merry Christmas!
@isnishi glad to hear that you visited and liked Turkey its my favorite country too eveytime I go there it just feels like home eventhough I was born in Germany. Your Christmas traditions sound soooo yummy 😋 I would love to visit Hawaii one day!
I think you're right, @lsnishi ! We do have nationalities from countries spanning so much of the globe ! It really makes us US ! Your family's Christmas traditions sound cool, and so do your friend's ! I didn't realize that Chinese restaurants were open on Christmas day !
P.S. I ate too much chocolate already --- early stocking stuffer treat ! Gotta drag out the Tums...lol !

I'm shocked there's such a thing as TOO MUCH chocolate! Say it isn't so!!!! Looking forward to some hot chocolate and eggnog!
lol @lsnishi! I feel better now ! Enjoy your hot chocolate and eggnog ! It's almost time for pizza and opening presents on Christmas Eve ! We just started getting take-out pizza a few years ago and I started opening presents on Christmas Eve when I was in college (so I could sleep in on Christmas morning !) We still have a traditional dinner on Christmas Day with all the sides, mashed potatoes, stuffing and vegetables and yummy cornbread with apple pie and blueberry pie for dessert, although, now we do chicken instead of turkey because it's easier at Christmas !
I hope that you enjoy your hot chocolate and eggnog! @lsnishi
It is a great tradition that you have of eating pizza and opening presents on Christmas Eve @coolsim9999999 I hope that you will also enjoy eating the traditional chicken and vegetables dinner tomorrow also

Merry Christmas to you too! Also, I totally agree with you. I love hearing about other countries and traditions and learning where people are from.
We went to a candlelight service tonight, and I was amazed to learn that we were lighting our candles from a candle who's flame was brought here (United States) from Bethlehem ('Church of the Nativity'? - where they think the manger was). Amazing to me. Overseas in a 'miner's/sealed container(?) and otherwise it travelled via passing it on at pickup points!

That is so very special! @SheriGR It was lovely that the flame came from Bethlehem, from the Church of Nativity, to the US and was used for the candles at the service! It would have made the candlelight service even extra special
Buon Natale is a very nice Italian Dining room! @ShadowFairy74 Very nice green, red and white colour scheme of the room to reflect the colours of the National flag. The furnishing and layout of the room is very nice. The garlands and wreaths look very festively nice on the fireplace wall and the garlands look very nice around the windows. The hanging stars and the festive ceiling light with banners are special touches in the room. The Christmas tree is very pretty for Sims to enjoy seeing as they sit and rest on the red stools warming up in front of the festive fireplace. They will like using the new speaker that came with the patch. Very nice dining table area! The red festive dining table and the red dining chair look very nice together. Sims will enjoy sitting at the table eating their Christnas meal. They will sitting on the bar stools after their meals having a drink from the bar. The Christmas banner looks very nice on the bar area wall. The strings of Christmas cards on the walls either sides of the door are a nice homely touch. The nutcrackers look great in the corner nooks and snowmen look cute! Sims will enjoy opening the colourfully wrapped presents that are in the corner nook. The stars look festively pretty on the wall areas between the windows. The Sims look very nice in their matching festive outfits which reflect the Italian National colours. The red Mohawk hairstyles look great!
It is a very dining room for celebrating Christmas in Italy! Thankyou very much for entering this week’s challenge
