The theme for the week : A Dining room for a small family celebrating Christmas in a particular country
Gallery name of room: Christmas In Australia
Gallery Link: Christmas In Australia
Origin ID: chips46
I went with the National Colours of Australia are green and gold
Pictures of the room:
Christmas in Australia is a great room for celebrating Christmas in Australia ! @chips46 It looks a very nice Summery Christmas room! The blue and yellow colour of the wall to reflect the blue skies and yellow beach sand looks very nice. Very nice Australian beach and koala festive wallart! Surfin Santa, string of footwear lights and Sandy Snowman are great touches in the room! The festive garlands on the walls look very nice. The green natural Christmas tree looks very nice, and bon bons look great in front of the tree. It is nice that there are fancily wrapped Christmas presents there for Sims to have fun opening after the Christmas meal. The scenic beach picture is very nice and goes well with the rest of the room. The green and gold colours of the dining chairs. dining table, high chair and patterned floor rug to reflect the national Australian colours is a very nice touch. It is great that there is a ceiling fan to help sims cope with the heat of an Australian summer Christmas Day. It is great that there are condiments, plates and cups, on the side table to use for the meal. Sims will enjoy having a drink from the jug with their meal. The starry patterned blue curtains look festively nice on the windows. Sims will enjoy having popcorn and ice cream in the room, Thankyou very much for using my bird picture
The Australian themed furnishing of the dining room looks very nice! Thankyou very much for entering this week’s challenge
Thank you very much @rosemow We have 2 hours to go it'll be Christmas here in Australia I have better start going to bed before santa gets here good night rose
@chips46 Your Australian Christmas is great, and I enjoyed all of the details and colors - and the pictures are a fantastic touch (especially the Christmas koala & greeting)! Makes me think I should grab the fixings and supplies and step right out the door into the @Allears Christmas outdoor dining room to throw those prawns on the barbie! @Allears your room is so creative and I loved hearing about the Australian traditions and seeing an outdoor-ish version of Christmas down under! I totally want to see that sleigh with 6 white boomers!!
@MrsHosni Your Japanese Christmas room did very well at capturing many of the aspects of Asian dining rooms and decor, plus the clean, modernish-style is very fitting. Very clever way to address the table set-up, also.
@Adoriyah Your Native American dining room has many nice details and decor that work well so well together to convey the cultural design preferences! Great attention to room details!
@Kelz My son's girlfriend just got back from doing her student teaching in New Zealand, and so we have seen and heard so much about it that I ws delighted to see your Christmas room! She said so many aspects were like stepping into the 'Shire', also! Love the idea of a special Kiwi 'bach' for the holidays!
@SimTresa Your Mexican themed dining room does a great job of using colors and decor to reflect the Mexican country and traditions! How fun that the outdoor scene is perfect for the setting, and the details about traditions that you shared were so nice.
@AlJay I am in love with your Christmas Cabin! It includes many nice details and decor, and is so cozy that I want to go there. Now. Seriously. ♥
@Hisaosaka Your Canadian Christmas dining room is very sharp. I really enjoy your use of the red and white colors and details within them to draw in the Christmas theme. And the Christmas lights/curtains are very clever and festive!
@luckyheather Your London loft Christmas room is wonderful! I love how you used the British colors and the loft design is so well done. And your pictures are the perfect touch and well done. This apartment is so London, I love it!
@coolsim9999999 All-American colors and space! And I am so impressed that you got all of those sims to sit and behave themselves at the tabel - at the same time!! No small feat! The design and Christmas theme are very nice and festive.
@Gwiniel You did an admirable and lovely job of creating the design details of a Nordic Christmas! You did a fantastic job, especially considering that you mentioned your limits on packs and items available! Still the furniture styling is quite fitting to my understanding of what is appropriate, and your details form the reindeer, lamp, fireplace, cards just to name a few are very nice for the themed room. I also loved hearing additional details in your later post. Thank you for sharing your Christmas with us all, and I hope you are feeling much better for Christmas eve and Christmas!
Merry Christmas to you all, and thank you for what a lovely group you all are on this thread. I appreciate you all continually!! And, of course, a very special hats-off and big hugs to you, @rosemow for all you do here for us all and for being such a lovely and supportive person!! You are a tireless blessing to us all here!! ♥♥♥
Nice room @MrsHosni. It clearly looks Asian. How do you and your husband spend the holiday time when your culture doesn't celebrate it, if you don't mind me asking? Or is it just an ordinary day among the other?
Lovely Australian room @chips46. Love that Christmas koala.
My Christmas personally didn't go as planned - usually never does - but I'm enjoying the food, chocolates and drinks (no alcohol) just relaxing at home with my friend with whom I live together with. She visited her family last week as they are working through the holiday. Our neighbor's children however loved their gifts I don't know them but I certainly heard their screams of joy and laughter, and the thumbing noise as they jumped happily, delighted from whatever stuff they got
Visited mom and dad though and asked mom about her family roots... The 3rd country wasn't Norway after all, it was Germany @SheriGR.
The happy news are, however, that I now have more sims packs - bought Vampires, Outdoor (granite falls), Romantic Garden, Vintage Glamour and Spooky stuff from the sale. If I could have afforded, would have bought everything
Thanks, @SheriGR. I'm actually half Mexican-American and have never been to Mexico, so the room and traditions are what have been passed down in my family. The other half is black if anyone wondered.
@Gwiniel I have to admit I love the Christmas season and winter in general I absolutely love to decorate my apartment with lights and some Christmas ornaments. Since we live in Germany it's kind of normal. The first year of our marriage we even had some Christmas traditions with a nice dinner and lots of presents. But in general we just watch lots of movies on tv (our favorite on Christmas is home alone) while cuddling on the couch with hot cocoa and some cookies
Thankyou very much for your very kind and special words @SheriGR
It is great that you were able to buy some more packs whilst the Sale was on and that they were reduced in price @Gwiniel You will enjoy using the build items from the packs in your builds, as well as enjoying the gameplay features that each pack has
Thanks for the lovely comments on my British room I love the different countries in all these great dining rooms Wonderful!!!
I have been rushing today to finish a house now uploaded I can ****WISH YOU ALL A HAPPY CHRISTMAS****
Thank you @SheriGR and @Gwiniel I'm glad you liked my room, and Merry Christmas everyone!! I must say this has been a wonderful challenge ( Thank you @rosemow ) I have absolutely loved seeing everyone's view of Christmas around the world.
Wishing all of you a wonderful Christmas and lots of holiday joy! It's fascinating to hear all the different Christmas traditions. I live in Hawaii so we have the standard US Christmas traditions except no snow (today will be in the low 80s) and the food is slightly different.
We usually have ham or prime rib for dinner but the side dishes are usually local favorites like chow mein, sushi or potato/macaroni salad. The big family parties are usually held on New Years, which when I was growing up, would be the big bash with extended family, lots of traditional new years japanese food (kuromame, kanten, ozoni, nishime, kinpira gobo, tsukemono and mochi). The aunts and uncles would pound the mochi rice and the kids would get to put the sweet bean filling in the mochi (we usually ate a lot of the azuki bean filling before it got into the mochi . And the best part of new years is that the adults would give the kids money and we would get to play fireworks (under adult supervision of course).
It was very nice reading about how you and your family celebrate Christmas and the New Year times @lsnishi It sounds like a very special and enjoyable family time spent together
Thanks so much @SheriGR for your very nice review of my Australian Christmas. Glad you liked it!
Merry Christmas to you too @rosemow Wishing you all good things for Christmas and all the best for the new year. And thanks for all you do around here - you keep things running!
And best wishes for a wonderful Christmas and New Year to all of you! Hope you all have the best holiday yet!

Merry Christmas/Christmas Eve to everyone ! Thank you everyone for the great comments about my Christmas dining room ! I really love everyone's rooms ! It's awesome to read about all the different Christmas traditions that are done in different countries ! @lsnishi it was also interesting to read how Christmas in Hawaii is different than in New England (part of the East coast of the U.S. because I've heard there's another New England somewhere in Australia) ! I guess each state in the United States has a few different side dishes or traditions, due regional favorites and temperature (and whenever a country has varying climates in different parts of the country .
