Hello everyone The “Christmas themed guest bathroom” challenge has now finished! The bathrooms look very festive! Very nice colour schemes that have been used! They are very nice bathrooms for the Christmastime! Thankyou so very much for creating these very nice bathrooms!
I will post the new challenge in the next post and on the first page of this thread
The theme for the week : A Dining room for a small family celebrating Christmas in a particular country.
Christmas is celebrated in countries all around the world! It is a joyful time, spent with family and friends. This time the room challenge is to choose a country and design a dining room for Sims to celebrate Christmas there, which reflects that country. It doesn’t have to be where you live. It can be any country in the world. You could choose to use their national colours, or the colours of their flag, or you can reflect the country in anyway you would like to. It is just a small family so it won’t be a large dining room. Because of it being Christmastime, this challenge will last for TWO weeks this time. Please also tell us which country you have chosen for the dining room when you post your room.
I will look forward to seeing the dining rooms and what country you decide to base the dining room on!
Just a little reminder , it needs to be uploaded as a room not a lot.
It can’t include cc items.
Please use the hashtag
#oneroomoneweekonetheme with your entry
Please include an overall top down views picture of the room if you are able to.
The rooms need to be posted by Tuesday 1st January 7 p.m. PT
Just saw your room on the Maxis curated part of the gallery @flobobunny. Congrats on the Maxis fave! Great work on that holiday themed bathroom! The shelves you did were perfect!
@rosemow What do you consider as a small family? A couple (i.e. husband/wife), parents and a child, parents and 2 kids, family of 4 and grandparents of either husband or wife, parents and 3 kids? Because I was wondering if 6 seats is too much: 2 toddler chairs and 4 normal chairs, since the small family can be anything... they could have twin toddlers or older children.
Hello @Gwiniel There can be up to 8 Sims in the family who are dining there. It is just that the room challenge isn’t designed to have lots of dining tables for lots of other family members and friends to also dine there.

Yes, @rosemow, I know/understood that and that's why I asked. So I take it from your answer that the "small" includes up to 8 sims max for the challenge.

That is right @Gwiniel I will look forward to seeing your room!
I had this crazy yet weird idea and I didn't use a dining table for my room. So the sims in gameplay can not eat there properly. Is that OK?
You can design the room just as you would like it to be! @MrsHosni Sims don’t have to have a dining table to eat food. They will still eat food without a table.
I will look forward to seeing your room!
Thanks @rosemow. At first I thought uhm, I might not enter this challenge I had no idea how to style a Christmas dining room that represents a country. And then it hit me i still have to playtest if they are able to sit cuz it seems a bit tiny I will see what I can do.
@Gwiniel wow that looks amazing. Love the wood and the overall theme to it! Great that you choose your home country.
The design and furnishing of Nordic Xmas dining is very nice! @Gwiniel It is very special that you have created the dining room for Finland where you live It is nice that the dining table and chairs are in the middle of the room, and the wooden texture of the table and chairs is nice. Very nice corner Christmas tree nook! The Sims will enjoy unwrappping the colourfully wrapped presents after their Christmas meal. The snowflakes patterns on the wall to reflect the snowy weather outdoors looks very nice. The plants, books and fruit pictures are nice touches on the window ledge and walls , and the Santa gnome and cat there look great ! The snowman light and reindeer in the corners and mini snowmen on the side table look festively cute! It is a nice touch that you have placed the new festive logs item on the festive table between the snowmen. The string of Christmas cards that the family has received look nice on the window reminding them of their family and friends. The festive garlands look nice around the windows and door . The small white lit tree is a very nice touch on another of the wall tables. They will enjoy eating Christmas cookies from the jar. It is nice that there is a fireplace to keep the room warm whilst they are dining. The garlands on the brick fireplace wall and the candles on the ledge are great festive touches, and blue and white gnome on top of fireplace looks great! The wooden crockery cabinets and the Christmas decoration on top of them is homely in the room. The candles on the table are pretty for Sims to see as they are eating their meals. The festive red and green edged mirrors are very nice for Sims to look at themselves, and the Christmas wreath on top of them is a special festive touch. The landscape pictures look great on the walls.
It is very nice that you have reflected through the room what a dining room for celebrating Christmas looks like in your home country Thankyou very much for entering this week’s challenge

Description: Decided to represent my home country, Finland, the best I could with the extremely limited Maxis items I have available. It doesn't use much of white and blue, but I tried bringing some of the realistic feel. The major obstacle is my very few EPs and thus Maxis items: what I've got aren't all that suited for Finnish style. Hope you like it nonetheless ^^
