Spliced plants are broken

Hiya. So I've been having an issue with spliced plants. They won't grow the plant that that I grafted to get? For example, quite a few sim days ago I grafted tulip onto chrysanthemum to get bird of paradise. However after waiting many sim days, no birds of paradise have grown, only chrysanthemum and tulip. And even weirder, when I went into the household inventory, I found three birds of paradise plants (which I've never had before, I have no idea how they got there), and I planted and have grown them, but they have yet to produce any actual flowers.
Anyone else having these issues? I'm particularly concerned about the grafting issue...

ok, thank you! I read the threads, and what I understand is that the update didn't break splicing, it just made it extremely, extremely difficult.

I'm glad it's not a bug, but I still hate that it has become so rare to get the harvestables. I heard somewhere that the odds of getting the resulting harvestable have been lowered to 1%, do you happen to know if that's true?
I am not sure what the percentage is. Many simmers though are finding it hard to get the new spliced harvestable.

So your birds of paradise plant actually grew flowers right? Again I found some BoP plants in my household inventory and planted them but they won't flower. They did grow to a fully mature plant, but there are no flowers... @rosemow is this a bug as well or no?
