I've had no luck using the portable art gallery. I thought you just placed it in your inventory and could sell anywhere. Was that just for the stream? Do I have to be on a lot? I tried selling in the same place as the livestream sim, the public space in the spice market
Hello
Put the item into your inventory then go to where you want to sell the paintings. Place the item in the world. Then click on the Wall gallery item and there will be an " open " option . Put the paintings that your sim has painted into the Wall's inventory section. Then click 'Stock Wall' Then click 'Tend' and then click 'Start Sale'"
I think it's glitched in this particular save. Thank you @rosemow
Hello
There is an issue with selling paintings that were already painted before the release of City Living. Some Simmers haven't been able to sell them. Try painting fresh new paintings, if you haven't done that, and try to see if you can sell them.

I've been dealing with an issue where I can do a Yard Sale (use build mode to place the street gallery on a lot), but somewhere between 2 updates I stopped being able to do a street sale. I do get the option of "Place in World", but it just vanishes from the queue.
Has anyone experienced the same issue and maybe found a solution? I've tried everything mentioned above, no luck.
I have had no trouble using the table or the gallery, but they work better on lots that are not CL lots or the CL open spaces. If you want to sell in the Art District or Spice Market I've found that it's better to use the tables or galleries that appear there, rather that using your own. There's a lot of other activity coded into all the CL spaces that you're competing with if you set up a sale. It can take quite awhile to sell anything.
I have them set up as additions to my owned retail businesses. When I feel like not opening the business - just want to sell misc. collectables, cupcakes or paintings. You have to set prices and actively "Tend" the table or gallery.
Not tried adding them to unowned retail lots - I don't have any - but you might get that to work. Stock the table, start a sale, tend and clear the table when you're done.
If you sell from your home lot, lock all your doors and gates to keep kleptomaniac sims from stealing your things.
Occasionally the objects seem to get "glitched." So far selling them, quitting and repairing the game has fixed this.
I was able to solve my issue with the street gallery.
Turns out it was a mod causing it, "Single Cups of Tea/Coffee" by Pbox (Modthesims) was the culprit. It was the last mod I would ever expect to be the cause of the issue I was experiencing.
I am still a new member so I can't start a new discussion.
I can't sell anything using the street gallery. It works fine and sims come and look at the artwork but they never actually buy anything. Same with the come and get it table. I can put stuff on it and start a street sale but nobody buys anything.
There has yet to be a flea market so I haven't tried it there. But on a general day, nothing happens.

Okay, I was beginning to wonder if I was the only one, who the Street Gallery Yard Sale was no longer working for. I was super bummed about it, because I was trying to earn fast cash by selling my paintings to buy the veterinarian clinic. :D

Try seling the art wall item, buying a new one and seeing if that helps.
Repairing the game may help. To do that, right click on the sims 4 picture in Origin and click repair.

Hello
When you click the Street Gallery item in your inventory, do you have the option to " place in world" ? Try clicking that interaction.
