No-one in Atlantis could compare to Xena's beauty, and through her fathers eyes, no one was good enough to take her hand in marriage. Because of this, Xena was sent to live in a secluded and secret area of Atlantis.
To add to the seclusion, her father had her room built underground and hired his most highly skilled guards to watch over her and keep her safe.
Despite the lack of view landscape-wise, Xena gets to spend her days with Atlantises' 4 most deadly and attractive men - something she is in no hurry to complain about.

Xena is very pretty! @ssssimyalater Very nice design of the ground level area of the build! The sets of stairs look great! It is a very nice toich that water fountains and large chess pieces are between the stairs. Very nice underground living areas! The curtains look very nice on the edges of the bed,and the candles are a very nice touch either sides at the foot of the stairs. The fireplace will keep the room warm. The candles and globe look great on the fireplace ledge. Nice candles and bath tub nook, for Xena to enjoy restfully bathing
It is a very nice living area in Atlantis for Xena
Im liking this challenge*^* i got a question though; i think of a high tech world on a island with alot of glass building but is it fine to use tech in this challange?=P
Aww I guess that's the only implied rule... it's all prehistory so I guess you still have to hide it or be creative some way about it

Back story: I decided to create Atlantis before it was destroyed. I created a street that would have been apart of the city. There's houses for 6 sims including a bathroom (I couldn't hide the technology for a toilet/bathtub) and it is fully playable. The large focal structure was meant for design purposes so there are empty rooms and I only furnished the ground floor. Inside of the large building is a common area for the sims to meet each other and hang out/talk to each other. The landscaping is meant to look as if their city is lush and fertile. The city of Atlantis in my mind would have relied mainly on stone for building their structures so everything is primarily stone designed.

The desigm and layout of Atlantis Street looks very nice! @JosieAnglin It looks great the way the six homes are either sides of the street, and the water pool running down the middle of the street. The planter boxes and the greenery look very nice on the exterior walls of the homes, and the stone texture of the interior walls gives a great look to the homes. Very nice roofing design of the homes. The knight statues look great standing on guard in the build! The left and hand sides L shaped water pool and fountain features look very nice! The exterior design of the large building looks so very great! The windows look very nice how they have been placed on the building . The double floral arches entry way to the city looks very nice! The flowers and hedging look very nice along the edges of the fencing. The corner nooks with the follies, statues and floral greenery arches and plsbrs are special nook areas in the city.
The recreation of the city of Atlantis looks very nice!
@ssssimyalater - Cool story and very good looking sims! Xena's bedroom looks really nice and cozy. Nice!!!
@josieanglin - LOVE that shot near the L shaped canal. Very cool. Lovely build!
@fabtiffsim - ARRRRGH you come up with these ideas that are awesome for megabuilds! SO I'm almost done with the shell. It's not a huge build, mind you, but I've still managed to spend 200,000 simoleans and haven't started landscaping or furnishing yet. I just started, um, playing around with lights and you know... So, if it isn't finished by deadline I'll post pics of what I've got. You gave me points for nothing but a wall last time! And dagnabbit (they should have used that instead of plum), I brought in a playtester and I can't use the fourth floor. I click on it and it won't let me go there...oh well. I guess it'll just be 'jewelry' then. (you know...looks good but basically useless)
I will look forward to seeing your build! @Ainsleyf It is great that that you have almost finished the shell. I hope that the rest of your work on the build goes well!
I'm up to 266,000 simoleans and still building. I'm going a little nuts on this one. Don't have a lot of landscaping to do, but haven't started yet and still have a lot of furnishing to do, but I'm really chuffed by the way it's turning out! I think it's one of my best builds yet.
Funny thing is..it's a big build but doesn't have a big living space. I only have two bedrooms so far and two baths.
Here's a WIP pic:
Your WIP build looks so very grand! @Ainsleyf The roofing spires look so very nice in the build! It looks great the way the home is built on the rocks, and the water is around the base of the rocks. The ship is a special touch in the build.
The entries so far look great! Since I'm the guest judge, my entry won't count in competitive terms, although @fabtiffsim did say she'll critique it for me.

Back story: I decided to make a modern (gasp!) memorial to the lost, sunken island of Atlantis, where Sims can go to see what remains of this lost civilization! Thousands of years ago, the island of Atlantis sank to the bottom of the sea. Now, modern-day Sims can view the ruins when they visit this memorial to a lost civilization. Underneath the water, visible from a unique viewing enclosure, see what remains: houses, neighborhoods, monuments, a marketplace, remnants of ordinary daily life. Fragments of an ancient Sim culture lost forever.

I built my ruins in the Bluffs of Windenburg. This is how it looks from a distance. On the surface, there are some trees and a small garden, with some benches for viewing the water, plus stairs to the lower-level viewing gallery.
Here's the viewing enclosure, with an overview of the ruins. To the right, you can see the city gates. ("Why are we looking at the horses' butts?" asked my daughter.)
In this corner, the remains of a neighborhood: the facades of houses, an overgrown well. The details of daily life interrupted by catastrophe.
A pretty town square and the remnants of the city's vibrant marketplace.
The Ruins of Atlantis is a very creatively designed build! @carolynrosser The design of the underground city level looks very great! It looks very nice the way that the items in the various areas reflect how life was in the City before and when the sink sunk. The furnishing of the areas to reflect what was left looks great! The city entrance gates, the parts of homes and the well look great! The mosaic tiling flooring is very nice! Very nice design of the town square and marketplace ! The flowers and floral sculpture look very nice in the build. The greenery is a nice touch on the walls. The horses are great to have in the city to reflect the animals that were in the City at that time .It is nice that you have furnished it with items that reflect daily life living in the City.
It is a great tribute build to the lost City of Atlantis!
@fabtiffsim: Because we're in the middle of the city! And the horses are at the city gates, greeting visitors and facing outward toward the rest of the world! But yes, perhaps the city planners could have thought this through a little more carefully!
@carolynrosser I love how you built something actually in the water, that's so cool, it never occurred to me. Really creative! @Ainsleyf WOW this is stunning. like jaw dropping gorgeous. Its so elegant, like it rose out of the water one magical day! @JosieAnglin very cool build! I love the gates for the city, and the little canals everywhere with the lush greenery. what I would imagine Atlantis to be like @ssssimyalater Really cool story! Love your sim Xena too, she's so pretty!
Oooooh, @fabtiffsim, this is really cool! So am I to understand correctly that the challenge right now is the Lost City of Atlantis? We build our interpretations of it, post it to the gallery, and submit the entry form here? I'd love to be a part of it!
@carolynrosser How COOL - it's a museum!! I'd love to go to a real life museum like that, horses butts and all! What a wonderful idea and cool interpretation of it! Yay!
Thanks so much guys @fabtiffsim, @rosemow and @24lunaa! I decided to take a break from the build to look at it with fresh eyes. Not completely happy with my interior or my landscaping.
