That is so awesome! Your own sim-book! Of course it's not as awesome as your own book book, but, you know what I mean..you're a builder too! I used to be a ridiculously avid reader but lately, I do much more netflix binging, which is really sad. I'll definitely get a copy soon and put it on the very very top of that pile of books I absolutely have to read. I look forward to it! I wanted to be a writer. Have written parts of books and articles, but never got around to completing an entire book. I even had a publisher at one time but wasn't secure enough in my knowledge of the subject to finish the project. ::sigh:: For now I write a recipe column for a Synagogue bulletin. The pay is the same as all my other projects: bupkes, but, hey, I can tell ya how to make a really good sangria out of Manischewitz. Haha, that's gotta count for something
It is very nice that you write a recipe column for a Synagogue bulletin @Ainsleyf People would enjoy using your recipes when deciding on what to cook for their meals . It is special that many tasty meals would have been cooked as a result of your recipes
@Ainsleyf One of the great things about writing (as opposed to, say, ballet or playing football) is that there's no age limit on it. If it's something you really want to do, you'll get back to it when the time is right! (And yes, sangria made from Manischewitz is an impressive accomplishment!)
@Ainsleyf love love love the ducklings thanks so much for sharing that! @carolynrosser OMG that's so cool you're an author! I am definitely finding your book and reading it. I work at a book store and I love reading everything.
Just like you @Ainsleyf I've started writing parts of books myself, but I never find the time to continue them, especially when Netflix is much easier. But we'll get to it eventually right!?
@Ainsleyf The duckies!! oh LARWD they are cute! Also I love that you have your own recipe article! It counts big time in my books, doing something you enjoy just means you're living a good life and that should be everyone's goal!
And for ANYONE feeling shy about sharing any of their art, you don't need to be! It's the internet! You can always do what you like and share it on the internet and see if people are digging it, and build up your own confidence!
Thanks, @24Lunaa! I used to work in a bookstore, too. And as a writer, I feel like bookstores and booksellers are so important--it's sad how the number is dwindling...
Thanks @fabtiffsim and @24lunaa! And this is too funny. I owned a metaphysical bookshop for 12 years. Closed when the landlord sold the building and the new guy ousted me. Didn't have the energy to start again in a new town and have to rebuild almost from scratch. I was kind of burnt out on it too. So now I'm a Pagan that manages the office of a Conservative Synagogue. You never know where you'll end up.
I'm finished with my Bedrock! Seriously, I had so much fun with this.

Gallery Link: Bedrock
Skill level: Intermediate
Back story: It's the town Bedrock, from the Flintstones! Includes the Flintstones' house, Slate rock quarry, drive-in movie theater and restaurant, bowling alley, car wash, Bedrock National Park and a historic town square. Also contains much animal-based technology (which unfortunately is only for show)

An overview:
Fred and Wilma in the living room. The bunny runs around on that wheel, which is how they generate electricity for the TV!
The outside of the bowling alley, plus the town car wash. The car wash was the first thing I built. You drive through, letting the frog and fish fountains wash your car. The elephants (mammoths?) finish the job at the end.
There's lots more stuff to look at! Check out my Imgur gallery for more pictures and commentary!
You are so very, very creative ! @carolynrosser It is such a fun build to look at the pictures and read all that you written about each of the areas! The creative ideas are so very great ! They are such fun ideas and so very, very creative and great! The car wash is designed well! All the areas are designed in a fun way that suits the Flinstones and prehistoric theme well! Very nice furnishing of their home! The cave paintings on the bedroom bedhead wall looks great! The large dinosaur snowglobe gives a great look to the town! The pink flamingo alarm clock is a great touch! I won’t write about all the great features but enjoyed looking at and reading about the town! Your simversions of Fred and Wilma look very nice! You have reflected them well in simform!
@carolynrosser your build is so creative! I love how you used the windows to create the feeling of stone walls for the home, and the little art things to make the "cave paintings". great ideas! All the animal based technology is fantastic. my favourite has to be the giraffe holding a hose for the shower.
oh and amazing work on the wooden cars! that's a great touch
RESULTS IS UP! This was one of my favorite builds of ALL TIME @carolynrosser I'm so happy that you entered this round and made my old lady heart warm and fuzzy with joy! We're going to do something special for the next round so give me a day or two to get everything set up for sure! I think it's going to be fun for all of us! I hope to see some beaut-ee-ful builds and continue our journey of friendship and simming together!!!
Hahaha! Thanks so much for your lovely comments, @fabtiffsim! I can't even tell you how much fun I had doing this--I'm SO glad that you chose this theme, even if it does reveal a little too much about our respective ages. One of the first things I did was to find every animal sculpture and toy in the game and place them down on the ground, so I could look at them and figure out what "job" they'd be best at.
Im liking this challenge*^* i got a question though; i think of a high tech world on a island with alot of glass building but is it fine to use tech in this challange?=P
oh my god @fabtiffsim are you psychic? I've been slowly building Atlantis for days now, and I was low-key hoping that it would be the next challenge so that I could enter it. You just made my day. This is fantastic!

And it was so much fun to find caveman attire for my characters! Here's Wilma's dress and I'm pretty sure this is Fred's man-dress.
It's a wee bit different and special and I hope you like it!
