Gunther: "Look at this, is this what our tax dollars pay for?"
Cornelia: "I know, it's such post-conformist industrialism!"
Gunther: "No, I mean they could've put something useful here instead of an art-piece."
Cornelia: "*sigh* Oh, honey....that's not art...."
My sims received this artwork of shells (Seashell Wall Mural) as a wedding gift. One of them is in the Art Appraiser career so I wanted to keep it so he'd have something to scan. After 10 minutes of trying to fit this 2 story art work around the house and giving up, I decided to create a hanging glass wall off a 3rd story bedroom deck. The house came with the pillars for the bedroom and deck; all I had to do was figure out how to place the wall sections so they looked like they were hanging. I finally managed that but then couldn't MOO the shell art piece onto the wall (which has CC glass wall sections). So I ended up using CFE to but a foundation height wall section below then build up the 2 story glass wall section and then placed the wall mural on the CFE'd wall, and that seemed to work.
And my Art Appraiser sim could still scan the art. So much work for a piece of art worth only 350 simoleons.
Much later, on the opposite side of the house, at the end of Leisure Day, one of my 2 stargazing sims failed to find a star. He found a meteorite instead. Headed right towards him. I immediately paused the game and sent everyone inside. The two elders in the background are part of my active family and are headed inside after being interrupted from getting romantic in the hot tub. One boy from the neighborhood was walking by outside, and apparently didn't pay attention to any emergency drill training at school. He rushed right onto the lot to point and gasp at the approaching rock:
Here's a shot of the house. The neighborhood boy is just above the hot tub and below the grove of money trees. To the right a little bit is the telescope where the meteorite is headed. I think you can just barely make out the shadow of the meteorite on the walkway around the telescope.
The meteorite hits:
The neighborhood boy survives, but is singed. He starts freaking out over all the fires on the lot:
I have a sim call for the fire department, and then have them start putting out the fires. There's 3 adults and 1 teen on the lot (and IIRC 1 pregnant adult at the spa). They get most of the fires put out before 3-4 fireman finally arrive (and run straight to the front door ignoring the fires all over the front lawn). The hot tub survives, but is broken by the impact. They totally lost a slippy slide, tree house, the telescope, a bunch of lounge chairs, some lounge chair umbrellas, a grill, an arcade game, and a metal sculpture that my original sim created early in his life and which I had left outside as a reminder to his early days learning the sculpture skill in college (he's one of the elders above). One of the fire fighters tells my sims to be more careful next time.
The next day I discovered that the maid service doesn't clean up the burnt floor of the deck. My sims had to do that themselves.
I had one sim finally pick up the 3 space rocks which landed on the property, and had someone use the telescope later than day. That night one of the male adults got abducted and later became alien pregnant. So, I got an alien baby out of the whole ordeal!
During my legacy challenge, I was on very little money. Couldn't afford a table and a chair, so my sim took to the toilet rather than her bed! May be a dull photo, but it does make me laugh.
Monte Vista has the biggest community pool I have ever seen - not that I have all the worlds I was able to place two wave stations side by side with room to spare on the narrow side. I didn't try but wouldn't be surprised if I could fit 6 into the one pool!

The kid is going to love it though. With that kind of view it's the best treehouse ever (at least in Isla Paradiso).
