What is with the flipping fires, grrr???

Everytime I host a Weenie Party and get the sims to hangout around the campfire I can guarantee that there will be at least 2 or 3 fires, I mean come on seriously , it is effecting me achieving the goals, it so unrealistic, is there a reason the campfire is catching fire so many times every single time?

It might just be a part of the game's code to cause a higher likeliness of fires at a weenie roast. That or you may just have some bad luck

Haha think I will go with the bad luck, it happens everytime I host one with different families, its sooo frustrating

I took my legacy fam to Granite Falls for a weekend getaway and my child pulled out her toy as they were hanging out around the pit fire. She immediately caught fire and I went crazy b/c she's my heir lol.

Try inviting less guests. I threw a huge Weenie Roast, then the fire started... and my game crashed.
Or try throwing it at park.

There is usually a blue new discussion button at the top right hand side of the screen in the forum sections. But new discussion threads though may have been restricted for new members. You may not be able to start a new thread until you become a full member. This occurs sometimes, especially at weekends and at holiday times, even when you have been able to post new threads before.
You need to have 50 points and 30 posts before you can become a full member and can then post pictures, have a signature, edit posts , post links and change your profile picture.This thread explains about it.

I noticed with my sprinkler system there are zero random fires now. Before my houses burnt down with anything that was flammable. I think anything that is flammable with no means of being put out with the exception of the sims themselves is just going to catch on fire any time you play it. I think it's probably coded this way to keep things exciting for players??? You'll probably need a hack to make that stop.

I think the sprinkler system just works inside of a house doesn't it? It wont do anything to anything on fire out side. I have the sprinkler on my lot. (That's is the box looking thing isn't it that comes next to the fire alarm, or am I missing something?)

You need at least level 4 cooking skill and some handiness skill to use the campfire without catching on fire. The campfire raises handiness when you add wood to the fire, but also increases the chance of fire for each time you add wood to the fire. This works the same for bonfires. The campfire also raises cooking skill when you roast whenies with a campfire or cook fish, but I believe barbques can actually work too so it don't need to be campfire cooking. Also when cooking with camfiles keep the fire around 1 to 2 logs, and don't add logs while cooking.

I believe this is a bug. It doesn't sound normal for the fire to happen so often.. have you tried reinstalling the game after backing up the saves?

EVERY time I have a weenie roast there's a fire. Even when there is no logs or furniture around. The sims just catch on fire. I can't even throw those parties because it's so annoying. You can't stop guests from adding logs.

I don't have them because my adult sims don't have any marshmallows on their sticks so it looks silly with them holding a stick in the fire.

Find the topic underwhich you wish to post. Select the New Post button in the Upper Right. That should give you the screen to start a topic.
