Did you see my activity bit? Something's up, DP is *busy* right now... (doesn't mean he isn't still taking questions at MTS, he's just working on THIS, too. Weekend aka "coder heaven" , he'll survive. Haha!)
I have a general idea of what's coming, but it isn't MY news to share with the masses... yet. Hang out, this isn't gonna be under wraps LONG.
Ok, I'm back. I've got a lot of work to do on a project that I'll be speaking more about within the next couple of days, but I tried to get caught-up here as well. If I missed something, let me know because I probably did! Thanks!
If you can't hang out... check back!
I'm taking the tumbleweed blowing through here (lack of recent messages) to mean nobody is having major issues.
How IS our crew doing with 3.2.0?
I probably won't get to really play, till I'm off work (starting Monday). Rough week here. Not horrible, just, stressful/emotional. All fronts.
The winds of change are ACTIVE, 'round my neck of the woods!
Sorry if this has already been asked but how do I use MCCC to change career branch for my sim?
To change the career is easy, but you have to unhide the debug commands. The debug commands are a part of the original game and not part of a mod. Usual they are hidden, but with MCCC you can make them visible.
In MCCC 3.x you find two options which have to be enabled
Computer: MC Command Center > MCCC Settings > Notification/Console/Menu Settings > Console Command Settings > Testing Cheats
Computer: MC Command Center > MCCC Settings > Notification/Console/Menu Settings > Console Command Settings > Debug Commands in Cheats
If you enable these functions, the debug commands are visible. Once again, the debug commands are original Maxis and not a part of MCCC!
As far as I've seen career cheating is only possible on your active sim.
By all means make a backup of your game data before you give it a try.
How to cheat careers with the debug commands:
Shift Click on your active sim.
A lot of options appear in the familiar pie menu style
Search for "Cheat Sim Info". If you can't find it on the first level, click on "More Choices"
Click on "Cheat Sim Info"
You are in the "Cheat Sim Info" submenu.
Use "Remove Career" and "Add Career" to change the career path of your sim. Click on "Promote Career" to raise it one level or click on "Demote Career" to drop it one level. In this example the chosen career is "writer". The functions "Remove", "Promote" and "Demote" are only visible, if the active sims has already started to work in a certain career.
You can see the result immediately on the notification wall.
If you have any questions, please ask.

I've never been on this thread before, hi! Can I tweak the way my sims are paired off? I'm getting a lot more same sex couples and almost no heterosexual ones
I have a few questions regarding the age span settings before I start to tinker around with it. Normally there is a max value that one can change, I'm not seeing one. So if there is one what is it. If anyone has tinkered around with the setting at what values do problems start to arise if any?

I can't answer about any 'Official' limit but I use very long ages and I use the EA 'Long' lifespan. MC multiplies my age settings by x4 because of my use of the EA 'Long' setting. The following gives my MC settings and the figures in '()' are what I actually get in the game:
I don't see any issues with the game. Ageing seems to take place normally and age-ups occur as expected. However, I have seen some strange effects when I first alter the settings. I have some very, very old Elders in the game who's life span seems to have been extended well into the next century. The do appear to be approaching death eventually.
I use the long life span setting because I always did before MC introduced the Age Span setting and, as it was working for me, I didn't want to mess with it. Really, I should use the Normal Life Span setting and put in the age spans that I want.

Well, gee, you make it sound like such a no-brainer when you put it like that. Brilliant idea! I may try that while I'm off work, too. Thanks for the tip!
I'm sorry if this type of question has been answered before, but it says to delete all previous existing PACKAGE files for MC Command Center to work. Seen as a lot of my CC is included in PACKAGE files it would take out a lot of things I have. Is there possibly another way to get around this?

Isn't that part of what using Never Cull and then Releasing them to the Netherworld is supposed to do? Keep them on your tree, but, off the maps?
Mine aren't rhetorical questions. I'm not real familiar with ghosts. If someone who IS wants to field this, cool. Please?
Thanks!

Hi and welcome!
Have a look at this post:

It answers an almost similar question.

Baby: 2 (8 days)
Toddler: 10 (40 days)
Child: 30 (120 days)
Teen: 33 (132 days)
YA: 50 (200 days)
Adult: 33 (132 days)
Elder: 10 (40 days)
I don't see any issues with the game. Ageing seems to take place normally and age-ups occur as expected. However, I have seen some strange effects when I first alter the settings.
