This. I'm thinking Vampiric energy is what they run on. Use too many powers, you'll need to sleep or replenish in some other power increasing way. Otherwise, not.
Edit: I mean, I believe they still need to sleep...but more due to draining their Vampiric energy from using their powers. I think Vampiric Energy replaces energy.
