You can have a maximum of one new prisoner each day, so if you have enough free cells ready for more then one it will take a couple of days to fill those cells!
For this instance you can plan outfit for a specific Sim. Example: Joe Brown is on your lot as a visitor / NPC etc. Click on this item and choose Plan Outfit for Joe Brown. That Sim only appears in CAS with the only option to style their outfits.
Thanks a million, this actually works with the mod! If I try to edit their clothes in any other way all surplus (over 8) sims will just go poof, so if I have a 10 sim household only the first 8 remain. But with the GT closet trick I can actually indeed edit just that 1 sim, and the others will still all be there! I'm going to add that to the rules as a tip!
Ladies, wanna borrow my toddler? : P He will put your brain on high alert, even if it were only to stop him from spilling all the washing powder all over the kitchen if you leave him alone for 5 minutes....
Before people think I'm serious, I wont ever do such a thing, I'm just teasing, don't worry!

My days of Toddler care are long over I do however recall an incident involving my then toddler daughter, green Kool-Aid and several cups of sugar in the middle of the beige living room carpet. Do you know that green Kool-Aid is an excellent dye?
I don't even know what green Kool-Aid is, but if it says 'green' in the name I get the idea! LOL!
Kool-Aid is a brand of flavored drink mix owned by Kraft Foods.
Usually the packet of powder is mixed in 2 quarts of water with a cup of sugar (I always used less) to make a refreshing beverage. In this case my daughter put the powder in a pitcher with a whole lot { ! } of sugar.
Oh I totally get the picture! BTW, I compacted my post a little bit, and when the prison is done building I'm just going to go ahead and plunge into it. I don't feel like doing the challenge twice (first as play testing and then 'real') so I'm just going to update this thread on the go should any issues arrive!
Do you think that at some point it has enough originality to be added to the topic? Or does it still lack too much for that? I consider you a challenge expert, so I'd love to know your honest take on it!
For me one of the biggest differences between this one and the original is that you cant just go fighting all your prisoners, which I saw TheSimSupply do a lot. I tried to make it as realistic as possible to how a real prison would be run, in every way!
My best advice is to always play the challenge first. Whether as a 'test' or for 'real'. Once you have played it thru at least once then you will attract others to play as well.
I've edited the "new prisoner rules", changes include not getting the first untill actually ready, giving you time to build at least a simple starter house AND furnish the areas needed to house that first prisoner. Also the time option for new prisoner arrivals have been deleted, however the max 1 a day and only weekdays will stay put. Currently started with the official playtesting, so more might change when I run in to things!
Updated after playtesting: Removed the separated mixed gender option due to complicating issues, added the option to have two wardens if you want, even with same gender prisons, and detailed more about which sims you can use for wardens and inmates!

Update: Changed the rules about uncomfortable objects (mainly beds and toilets). The rule was that isolation cells had to have uncomfortable objects. Changed to isolation cells being the only place where uncomfortable objects are allowed. The rules for normal cells not having uncomfortable items has not been changed.
This is mainly due to enabling everyone that has GTW to use it's prison items with the unlock cheat, as they have the perfect look for prisons but are not uncomfortable. Also the uncomfortable beds were better in their energy value then the GTW prison bed, and that just felt wrong. So with this new rule you are able to use the same type of bed and toilet in both the normal cells the isolation cells.
In the meanwhile I'm still playtesting, with a prison built for 32 inmates and 2 wardens (large household mod) which I am currently furnishing before starting to take in inmates. Anyone who wants to follow my progress can read that in my blog topic!
Update: Changed the rehabilitation rules from having 24 hours of good behaviour at the moment of reaching level 10 to having 24 hours of good behaviour AFTER reaching level 10, including the rule that you can't exploit they're level 10 skill(s) during those 24 hours. This is more realistic and more workable. After all, now that the prisoners have proven that they have the skill to go back to the real world and earn a legit living, they still have to prove that they can also behave well.
