What kind of computer do you run The Sims 4 on?

Comments
HP Pavilion/ Win 8.1
i7 processor @3.1 Ghz (why is mine not 3.2 -lol)
6 GB Ram
Intel 4400 integrated graphics chip
I run S4 at Ultra/ 1600p
S3 I can't remember offhand but mostly high- I think I have smoothing at Medium and Sim Detail at Medium. The Sim Detailing is just my preference for how they look but the Edge Smoothing at high causes problems and there's not a huge difference in the appearance given the drag from it.
S2 obviously all on HIGH- lol it's only ten years old I would hope it could be played on high. Ha Ha.
i5-2500 ~3.3GHz
16GB RAM
Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD
AMD Radeon HD 6800 Series (6850, IIRC), 1GB dedicated memory
on a 1920 x 1200 Dell monitor
in a lovely quiet PC case
The SSD was a Christmas-present upgrade. Considering more upgrades, but nothing urgent. I'm playing smoothly on Ultra, just would like even faster load times between lots. But need to spend $$$ on lots of other things, so.

Mine is the opposite My ASUS ROG loves the sims 3 hates the sims 4 LOL. I have a 770m 3gb, i7 2.4-3.4 Ghz, 16gb ram
we just helped someone with an 860m card that could not play the sims 3. They had to change the sgr files. Did you try changing the sgr files and adding the TS3W file to your Nvidia control panel?
changing sgr file
http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Getting_new_graphics_cards_recognized_by_the_game
add the sims 3 to your nvidia control panel and put vsync on
in your Nvidia control panel under 3d settings click add then browse. Then you will be clicking on a bunch of files to get to the TS3W file which runs the game. computer C, to program files X 86 file, to origin games file, to the sims 3 file, too the game file, to the bin file. In the bin file you will find the TS3W file. Add that to control panel and put vsync on adaptive. This game must have vsync on or it will run your fps way to high. Also remind yourself every time you have an nvidia card update make sure it does not reset your vsync before playing. Nvidia card updates will also reset your game launcher settings every time.
Hm. The SSD install made the game load faster, it didn't make much difference in the lot load time once I'm in-game. Made me wonder if a lot of that isn't asset-loading but other calculations using something other than the SSD/HD.

Although a graphics card upgrade might help.. it's probably your weakest link.

I dont notice a difference on ssd with the sims 4. Some others have reported same. The sims 3 I notice a big difference
SimGuruMax explained what happened behind the loading screen :
- Loading the assets (textures, models, etc)
- Assembling the world
- Building some kind of "map" so Sims can navigate the world
- Loading the Sims and their data
The third and fourth points are fairly time-intensive processes and I suppose rely more on the processor than on the SSD/HD.

I thought it might be brilliant with Sims 3 as well as Sims 4 but am now worried about reports of Sims 3 frying the Video card at FB speeds of 400 that have been reported!
BTW I wish EA would come up with a simpler solution of downloading all the stuff I had bought from the Sims3 store. I wanted a pristine game with new downloads but still have problems with downloading and have forgotten all the ways I had used in the past!
