Modelling Pack Teased? «12...Next Go

Saw this commercial for the Sims Korea with a popular Korean pop star (Hwasa), and the video shows fashion shows in the game with sims walking down a runway and striking a pose at the end. It talks about the player dressing sims in different styles for the runway, with different walkstyles, creating the right sims for it, etc etc and there's an audience watching and clapping

They've also done a whole series of ads with her focused around fashion with modelling careers and seasonal collections mentioned many times. For context she's a pretty big star in Korea and Asia with her main sims commercials getting 3.2 million views on YouTube so it's a pretty big collaboration for the Sims.

Thoughts? Is it just typical misleading advertisements or is a modelling pack possibly coming?

I wouldn't swear to every single piece of clothing, but the vast majority of the outfits at least are things that are already in the game. I think sometimes they just use celebrities in these "Play with Life" commercials to highlight new ways of playing with existing content.

That being said, they could be using the commercial as a way of gauging interest in a potential pack. For me, it's not one I would buy, but I'm sure other people would be interested. I do hope if they do one, it's only a stuff pack, or else just one small facet of a larger pack. A whole GP or EP devoted to modelling would be... a lot.

Interesting. Does she have any real clothes to sell? The subtitles say something about a Look book that will hit the sims in spring summer 2021. Maybe we're getting some outfits inspired by or designed by her. Not sure about modelling though, everything that was in that video can be done in game right now.

Hm they don't have that many walk styles in game maybe they plan to add more idk. Just mentioning a runway is kinda hmmm... if we don't have anything like that in game. I would really love a modeling career and I'm not sure if it's a hint or not but don't know why they will mention stuff that are not in the game

Well, I don't recognize the walkway's patterns, and the flowers on the wall are definitely new. The fact that it says "Actual gameplay" at the bottom is sus, too.

I could get into a modeling SP or GP, though this should have come with Get Famous.

I think it's just a normal advertising video. They are using all the assets that already exists in the game from what I can see and they don't use any custom animations...

But they are using more than 20 sims in the room, which is not possible without mods...

Interesting. I like that she played with the gender settings. But - and I know this is not the point of the thread - I didn't like any of the outfits, which I thought was rather disappointing.
But I do remember TS Superstar fondly and trying to impress the director on the runway. Good times!

What if it is a "Paris" pack, with both Romance (The City of Love) and Fashion (Paris Fashion Week) in the same pack? Wasn't someone speculating on that a few months ago?

I'm sure some people would love that, and if it is and they do, more power to them and may the pack come and be everything they dreamed. Me, I'd need Casinos/Hotels (preferably with Heists) and some Very Cool CAS/Build/Buy assets added in to join in the hype.

Nope, I assure you everything shown there in terms of clothes/objects are in game. The wall flowers are just some garden decoration from Perfect Patios stuff hidden in the wall some enlarged and elevated. Had to jump in game to double check and took the picture, but it's definitely is:

I have no interest in modeling or catwalks. Would have to be some good outfits.

And if that was the majority of the outfits we'd get, then no. Another pack I can let slip by.

Id be okay with a modelling Stuff Pack or something but it has to be a little more than just walking to the bottom of a runway and striking a pose. I'd want something a little deeper in terms of gameplay. Magazine/brand deals, in game billboards and posters with your Sim on it, that kind if thing. It could integrate well with the Celebrity feature already in the game. At a push they could do a Game Pack with a new career path and a couple of new lots or something but it would be very niche... but they've done niche before so why not...

I don't necessarily think this clip is hinting at a new pack or content (they are certainly not showing any new assets), but I do think a pack focussed on fashion could come with interesting features. I have seen the request for being able to save and possible share outfits on the gallery quite a few times, for example. That would be a cool feature to introduce in a pre-patch update for such a pack. And while I don't think being a model sounds like a career I would enjoy, I do think that being able to organize a runway event - from booking a venue to putting together the outfits for the show - could be an interesting extension of the stylist career and could also introduce cross-pack features with Get Famous.

I feel that we have kinda explored this theme already, both with the stylist career and the photography career. Unless they add new gameplay mechanics related to clothing and outfits (not gonna happen) then I'm not really interested either in a Modelling pack.

I noticed her use of the word "fairy" immediately too. I was wondering if that was a hint or maybe just a translation thing where a foreign word translates to an English word that may not be exactly what was meant.

I think it was definitely a fairy cause she added it with other supernatural creatures like vampires and spellcasters and the emphasis vas on the variety of characters you can create.

Advertising really works. I find it funny how many of the comments said they started playing sims 4 because of her and love it 🤭 everyone always gets on EA for their ads but it really brings in players.

But anyway I watched the whole thing with wide eyes without blinking and saw no mention of fairies!!😐

I wouldn't mind a modeling pack because I have way more fun with moschino then I thought I would. But definitely not high on my list.
