Items and mechanics from the Star Wars pack for mundane players.

«1
Hello! This is my first official thread! :)

I wanna start saying I'm not a big fan of Star Wars but I have seen all the movies and understand everything going on in that world.

I am also a mundane player, I think that's how it is called?

Given that I would like to make this thread to focus on the aspects and items that non SW fans can get from this pack.

Almost every item I saw on the trailer belongs and looks 'Star Warsy'

I've been analyzing the trailer and I could find:

1 skirt
2 set of hairstyle for women
1 for men
2 carpets
1 wall-lamp.

Can't find anything else in the trailer that looks like someone who is not going to build a Star wars related house/family would use.

Maybe now your daughter/son can be a Star Wars fan and her/his room can be decorated with SW content.

Can you find more mundane things on the SW trailer?

Let us know

Have a nice day and remember, it is not developers fault, it just a business decision that comes from the higher ups.

Spread love!

What a great idea! I hadn't thought of that. :)

And I'm sure there'll be memorabilia gathered from playing the missions that would also make good decorative items.

Yes! Also I just thought you can make a "geek-den", maybe mix some star wars toys and stuff with unravel and other small monsters and dolls, add some cds, dvds and video-game consoles and you have your own room to talk about movies and videogames or just as a collector!

There is really NOTHING in this pack if you don't want to play with Star Wars. The Build & Buy, decor and clothes all look like they are meant for Star Wars and nothing else. It all looks completely out of place in the other worlds.

Also, there are NO gameplay mechanics that seem like they'll be useful in other worlds, unless you want to see sims have light saber fights in Willow Creek :D

In other words, unless you're really obsessed with Star Wars, DON'T BUY THIS PACK

"Maybe now your daughter/son can be a Star Wars fan and her/his room can be decorated with SW content." -but is it really worth spending $40 to decorate someone's bedroom??

@justice4bonehilda thanks for starting this thread. Once the pack releases, those who've purchased it will be able to add to the thread. :)

And congratulations on your first thread! :p

Wait is the Star Wars pack going to be $40? I thought it was officially a GP and would be $20 same as the others?

I think the BB catalogue might be useful to build grungy lots. I am particularly looking forward to build a disco club. Or there could be a star wars club in the other neighbourhoods and they meet in a star wars decorated location to practice their light sabres duels. Would be nice if they add a star wars channel to the TV, so sims could watch and discuss the movies and stuff.

Congratulations on your first thread and this is a good idea! I plan on buying it but not going along with the star wars thing exactly and I was also trying to figure out things I can use and how I can use them.

I saw what looks like a new poker table (possibly gambling?) That I can put into my casino/arcade lots. Another fun activity.
Also that light saber vs the holographic droid in the air thing. That looks like something I would use as a fun futuristic game for sims as another activity.

I was thinking this world could be used as a literal theme park for families to go hang out and have a fun day. Especially if I put my own activites and games in it too. I already built my own theme park (with mods and the stuff we already have)

I like the star wars room theme idea.

I think droids could be used in creative ways. I'm not sure how they work yet but I was thinking maybe an alien sim or a scientist could build servos robots and droids as companions. (I don't know if you are a mod user but they already have mods that make servos look all different ways. So I think they would make a mod to make these droids look different from star wars)

I saw an alien with one eye in a tank filled half with water. That could be used in a creepy science lair or something bwahahahaha 😈

Outfits could be used to throw a starwars custome party.
I think the robot DJ will look cool no matter where you use it lol.

Other than that everything I saw in the trailer is very star wars specific. To me most would only look good for scifi builds which is what I plan to do for an alien themed world.

I have to wait until we see more! I'm not deep into star wars but I'm happy for the fans and I think I could get something out of this! The missions sound fun too.

Oh, Once again if you are a mod user I think someone will come up with a mod to replace the light sabers with swords then I could use that for my historical game play. Lol can't deny how cool that would look.
Zombies, oh please oh please give us zombies!! :'(

Another excellent idea. I really hope there are new club rules for the pack.

I understand your pain, but do not let it blind you, there might be some stuff you can use on mundane situations, you can read them above. It doesn't mean you NEED to buy it. It is only to those who will buy it or are thinking about doing it.

I'm just saying, is it worth $20 to be able to decorate something? I'm surely not going to spend $20 to decorate someone's bedroom with a Star Wars theme. It's not worth the money.

*And yes, I incorrectly stated $40 before instead of $20, whoops*

As kids, my brother and I had toy lightsabres that we used to 'fight' with. I think I read somewhere that outside of Batuu the lightsabres and droids function more like toys so it would be cool if children could play with them and have play-duels together.

The droids could also be used as children's toys (kind of like fancy remote control cars) if children can use them.

Also it might be nice to have a geek sim who is just really into star wars and likes to decorate their house with star wars memorabilia, has 'fake' droids/lightsabres etc.

You could have a club for star wars fans where they cosplay as star wars characters and have mock duels with lightsabres, maybe also play with 'toy' droids.

Totally agree with you. But. For those who are planning on purchasing the pack it's nice to be able to get ideas on how to use the content in regular gameplay :) .

Nothing beats a game of Pazaak though! That thing drove me crazy in KOTOR 1 and 2.

Oh gosh, I started playing KOTOR 2 again recently and nearly went insane playing Pazaak against “The Champ” :D

Here's the section of the official blog that refers to what you can do when you return home.

    Bring It Home
When your Sim returns from Batuu, they won’t be coming back empty-handed. Enjoy Star Wars™ inspired updates in decor, home design, and even recipes. Whether Sims display the antiquities they collected on Batuu or revamp their style completely to imitate the dwellings of Black Spire Outpost, they don’t have to leave their Star Wars™ adventure behind. Invite neighbors over for a game of sabacc or a lightsaber sparring session whenever you like.

Plus, any droids ordered on Batuu return to the Sims world as well! Sure, droids might not go around zapping people in Willow Creek, but Sims can still build relationships with them and have fun driving them around with a datapad!

Thanks! Sadly all of those things you bring back home follow SW art direction.

Maybe there's a new career? Pilot maybe?

-Perhaps depending on what faction you're in will determine what ship your sim will use going to batuu ? In the trailer I see both the Tie Fighter and the other ship landing two different occasions.

    -At 58 secs I see a little creature in a glass/plastic cage.

-Possible use of the force. Seen by Kylo Ren and Rey.

-Floating ball that may possibly train sims with their light saber.
