Halloween Town building challenge! «123456789...Next Go

I was inspired by the BNS Whimsyville challenge and thought it would be nice to have a challenge for simmers to build lots for an imaginary town called Halloween Town which is populated by both supernaturals and normal sims. Simmers can create homes and community lots for Halloween towns because you not only need homes, you'll also need stores, parks, bars, restaurants, libraries, etc. You can make either spooky or cute builds, the only requirement is that it is suitable for Halloween. I'll nominate all lots submitted for a Maxis fave. Challenge closes on Monday Oct. 28th at midnight Pacific Standard Time. Please post if you'd like to enter along with the type of lot you'd like to make (no lot size or cost restrictions) and use the hashtag #Halloweentown on your entry so I can keep track of the entries.

Oh I forgot to add that you can make generic lots like theaters, schools, churches, graveyards, etc. for this challenge also!

Ooo. I'm interested, but I need to give some thought to the type of build I'd like to do. My first thought is to make a more gothic-style bar for Glimmerbrook - since the one there is certainly lacking - but I'm also thinking that some sort of potion shop would be fun. Not necessarily one that sells potions, but moreso the ingrediants, along with an assortment of other magical items.

@Rostri-Jodu, either one would be terrific! At some point I was thinking if I had enough community lots and homes from this challenge, I'd turn Newcrest in one of my saves into Halloween Town!

I would love to join! Just a quick suggestion- what if you did a separate challenge for sims to populate Halloween Town? Just a thought. I would like to make a house please!

Edit: If we're allowed to make more than one thing, I would also like to make a graveyard.

@nerdfashion, that's a great idea about the sim challenge. I think I've bit off as much as I can handle with the lot challenge but if someone wants to do the parallel sim challenge, that would be wonderful!

And yes, you can do two lots for the challenge. I'd like to have a variety of lots so you really could do a whole village/town with the submissions.

I'm currently building a haunted sort of house, not sure the halloween stuff will fit the rest of the decor/design, though? I was more going for a shabby, cracked, cobwebbed type of house The Spooky/Holiday Stuff might be too cheerful Could I enter it anyway?

@Kathykins, a haunted house would definitely qualify for Halloween Town. Builders have the option of going "cute" or "creepy" and the shabby, creepy house is definitely Halloween themed to me.

ok, so I finished a bit sooner than I expected. I probably did forget something, but its way past my bedtime so have to cut short

This is quite a small house, 1 bedroom/1 bath, built for one of my spellcasters. There are bookshelves, but no actual study...although I did make a small space for a cauldron. I usually furnish "simple", with little clutter. Lot features a small graveyard as well (decorative gravestones only, I'm afraid) The property is quite large, though, so shouldn't be a problem if someone wants to expand the house. Which I probably will do myself at some point.

Lot traits: Island spirits and Gremlins (figured I'd use those as Ghosts and Poltergeists)

Brighton House is a lovely Halloween home! @Kathykins Very nice exterior design, roof tower, shabby style, and the iron fencing and graveyard are great! The torn and cracked walls, and cobwebs look great! Very nice open plan layout and warm furnishing of the interior! The red and brown colour scheme and the wall paneling are very nice! The patterned floor rugs add nice touches to the rooms. Very nice cauldron room! The moon wall art, hanging herbs and display cabinet are very nice there.
It is a very nice home for Halloween !
