5 years; I’ve been playing since the beginning of The Sims 4. Has it really been that long? Wow.
I got it on release day from the store, installed it, and was playing by that night.

I didn't get it until a year later after it came out. Too much was missing. I don't know when I would've bought it if it hadn't been gifted to me. I generally have a pretty good time with it now though, despite the issues I deal with sometimes. But I've been a part of the franchise as a whole since... I'm not sure.. I started on TS1 about a year or two before TS2 came out, I think.

I bought it on release, but I stopped playing from 2015 to 2017, so cumulatively I've been playing for almost 3 years

I've played the Sims mobile and on Facebook but I never played Sims online bc i couldn't afford it as a kid. I Finally purchased it while at work. a co-worker plays it too and we bonded over it. I am a teacher so my kids always want me to create a Sim version of them lol

I think I've spent hours in the CAS Demo before buying the game entirely (full price of course). I think it was between $40-$50 at the time, and I never regretted it.

I've been seriously playing since 2016 I believe. Though I have saves that date from 2015. I can't remember when I bought the game, but it wasn't long after it came out.

I don't exactly recall but I bought it a year after release when it's price was cut in half.

I was kind of torn on the one to two years or the three to four years because I'm in between them at two and a half years haha! I went with the three years because of the description. I would say I'm very experienced with it since I read pretty much everything on it, spend a lot of time looking at all the different things, and I've been playing since Sims 1 on and off.

I've played every version of The Sims since the original TS1. I have bought every EP, GP, and SP to TS1, TS2, TS3, and TS4, because I'm crazy and lack self control. Oftentimes over-drafting my accounts during TS2 & TS3 to afford the packs. It's like a compulsion I can't help myself. Also I love the game so that doesn't help.
*I hope nobody takes this as a brag, I only meant to highlight my obsessive tendencies when it comes to TS.

And I'm sick of the bologna so I'm out after 4.

I originally bought the game when it was released but I just went back to ts3, after ts4 was playable having packs, I switched to it.

Playing TS4 for roughly 1-2 years now. I migrated from TS3 (only because of lag issues... which I reeeeeally tried to work with for maaaaaaaany years... call me a trooper/ or stubborn, but I loved TS3 THAT much- mainly thanks to Nraas, but also because the play was far more dynamic than I am finding in TS4).

I've been playing since City Living came out, but stopped playing until I got a more powerful PC that can run TS4 smoothly last year.

I've only been playing TS4 for a couple years because life was just too hectic before and I didn't really have a computer for it but Sims in general... I played the original when it first came out then The Sims Online and then The Sims 2 but stopped shortly after University came out because at that point I was busy in university myself lol! I'm glad I was able to return and play TS4 though.

I will not choose any option since my experience with TS4 is being almost the same since 2014. The majority of times is just to build homes and when is for actually playing I get bored really easy and I came back to the previous games that I play a lot more times.

I think it's actually the only game I ever pre-ordered... I didn't realise I was supposed to be so disappointed with it until I came to the forums, though.

@Crayonless I agree. I actually really enjoyed TS4 and I still do. I like most of the content. Is it always perfect for me, of course not, but there is a lot of hate on it in the forums. Sometimes I stop reading threads or choose to not comment because they get way too negative in my opinion. There is a thread right now about the update and everyone is like hating on EA for doing it mid-TS4 productions. However, everyone for years has been complaining that EA isn't giving them what they want, they want more content, bigger GP & EP packs, and bigger neighborhoods, but then EA actually makes the decision to move forward into an arena that they will actually be able to meet some of these community asks, and the community is now mad because a small percentage won't be able to continuing buying content. It's so frustrating to me.
    Anyways End Rant.

I just got the game when it was free on Origin, so I am new to the Sims 4. I have previously played all the other Sims games, though.

I didn’t buy it when it released because it was a huge downgrade and so lacking. First time I declined a Sims series at release. I kept playing Sims 3 until early 2018, when there was some actual content for the game on console and then switched over from S3 on Mac to Xbox. I’ve never been a fan of games on pc, I spend enough time on my computer doing work, I don’t want to spend even more time on it playing games.

S4 is a huge step forward in the respect that it can be played on console and gets all the GP, EP and SP content, and I’m very appreciative of that. Now if they could just do that with the next installment and not cripple the game with poor decisions and self-inflicted compromises on content and gameplay...

    Thanks for the welcome! :D

I am still getting used to the game. I miss the open world from the Sims 3, but I do like the new character creator.
