yeah I want modern royalty as well since I have a bunch of royal families.. the Goths in Williow Creek, the Landgraabs in Osasi Springs, formlely the Berjgsgens (but after Romeo's marriage to Juliet, the Swansons became the royal family instead), and in Gen 6 a new royal family emgered in NewCrest
If we get a royalty pack i want a little world with a 64 by 64 lot with another 64 lot right behind it so you could have a grand entrance for your palace & a grand back garden.
EA_Mage is not in charge of ideas. She is a forum monitor. It is not her job to take ideas to the devs. Trust me when I say this, the devs in charge do read these forums, so they already know we want a Royal pack. What needs to happen here, is we flesh out the ideas and let them know what we would like to see in that pack. So concentrate on what you want and how to implement it. That way, if they decide to do a pack like this, they have a ton of ideas to pick from.
I would LOVE a modern royalty expansion pack. It would be fun working your sim up through society to marry into the royal family. It would be fun as the generations grow, to hear new in the game of royal weddings and births. I can imagine a "Talk about royal wedding" topic with other sims. There's lots of possibilities. I hope it happens. It would be really different, too!
We can create a Royal family a King, Queen, ect and have a Sim palace.
Sim palace can have multiple homes, allow multiple sims to live there as NPC's including family or staff.
New NPC bodyguards for Royal Sims. Paparazzi to report on scandals.
Have a Royal wedding where Sims can have a lavish wedding to the public.
Have a line of succession tab to view
Person in control of throne can give titles
New CAS items like new wedding dresses, crowns, tiaras
New event royal wedding,
Give royal announcements can be made using an easel on the outside of the palace like a baby birth, death, new king or queen
Set certain rules for heirs
Heirs need king or queen approval to marry

Those are excellent ideas. I particularly like the idea of maybe giving the Royal Palace a special lot designation or trait that would summon NPC sims to serve the Royals, like chefs, maids, guards, etc. If a child is born, an NPC nanny would begin working there.
If they redid the time travel concept perhaps you could travel to the past as well as the future and that is where the royal family concept can come in.
But a lot of people also want to play as modern royals.
Why not marry into the royal family in the past, and have your Sims live as descendants of that royal line in the modern day?
An idea taken from Makin' Magic: let's have our Sims kiss toads!
There could be a new type of collectable frog (rare) wearing a teeny little crown, and when we kiss them, they turn into a prince or princess, depending on our Sims' romance preferences.
a) It gives players a motivation to finish the collection, and
b) It integrates royalty into the game in an unobtrusive way. Don't want royals? Then don't kiss toads.
If this was included as part of a broader celebrity pack (as I'd prefer royalty to be included) then the prince/princess could come with a low fame level by default. By romancing the royal, marrying them (who doesn't love a celebrity wedding?) the fame level could increase, and our Sim could also become famous.
At the end of the day, nowadays there's very little difference between a modern-day royal and any other kind of celebrity family (ie the Kardashians/Jenners), so I think including "Famous Frogs" as a new collection type in a celebrity pack would be a fun way to go about including royalty.
Also Royal sims should be allowed to complete royal duties.
Attend events like festivals, host luncheons(new event)
Give public speeches using podium
Answer letters via mailbox and respond
Hosting charity event for organizations like No Sims Left behind, Simelons for everyone, ect (new event)
Visit other countries even if it is done in a rabbit hole of Sims out of town
New building should be City Hall where Royal family can work for

You may notice some comments missing from here - all my fault
Please keep this thread on topic by focusing on the game idea!

How about the royal family has the option to hire tutors as well as having the option to send their children to school?
Notifications about royal disputes and servant rumors, a small coronation.
Since a Monarchy is primarily based on conquering... why not add in warlike plans and plots, conspiring for some real royal drama.
And being able to pick your king, send letters to civilians via mailbox. And a household limit of 15 for a royal only household.
And most importantly, visitations from out world royals.

A Crier NPC would be cool then.
And if you play a Sim who is not royal, could have them try to woo a Prince or Princess.

someone has but Sims team could make it a lot better and add stuff mods can't
Which mod was that? @MadameLee
I might have been mistaken and confused Sims 3 stuff for Sims 4
