A mafia usually would love to keep a third party as long as possible before trying to find them cuz a dangerous third party can 'help' them kill town faster.

The problem is that most of the time mafia can get majority much faster than 1 lonely third party (depending on the their role of course, but most of the time). Besides it doesn't make sense to hunt a third party if they aren't necessarily a threat to us. It's like saying they *might* be harmful so let's kill them before we kill the people who we know for sure are harmful. If we get to 1 mafia 1 third party and some townies then it's worth considering whether the third is a problem or when we have low numbers. As long as the third isn't harmful they can stay in the game and are adding to our numbers. They become a problem in final 3 or 4 or whatever because they might not care who of town or mafia wins
And what kind of non-harmful third party do you think is possible in this game? Cuz I think the chances are really low. It might not be bad if it's an alien, but if it's an arsonist or cult, it might be too late if we leave them in for too long.
I refuse to hunt the third party until they are a threat or are close to being one. It just isn't logical at this point. We should be careful and aware that they could be a problem but not go after them while they aren't one

If we just aim for "acting scummy" we should be able to get mafia and a harmful third. If the third is harmful they will probably be acting a little bit like mafia (minus the buddying). So aiming for mafia can get us the third anyway if they are actually bad. We don't need to focus on getting the third at this point. Besides, who knows, maybe the third is harmful to mafia?

We only agreed on DeKay being scum before. I don't see where you see so many times where we agree? I am sure you are third. But the more experienced players (compared to me in this case) say it's better to get rid of scum before third so I unvoted you and voted someone I think seems to be scum.

Maybe we're lucky and the third party is an Unlyncher. The mafia wiki says that this role must prevent a certain player from being lynched. So they don't have a night kill? If it was a SK we would have had two night kills I think. Unless the third party wants to trick us, forgot to use their power or wasn't online during night at all.

We will never know right now since night was cut short. I think more than half of the players weren't online. For all we know, the Sam kill could have been from a third party who just so happens to be online and is dangerous, and maybe not even mafia. Or vice versa.
