my sims 2 ultimate collection had a lil update today on origin (about 49 Mb).. i wonder what it is about ?

I just noticed this update as well. It is still doing its thing on Origin, but I thought I would check the forums to see what the update is about.

There's no update for my TS2 UC. Which I'm glad about... cause I don't want to have to redo my game files.

So no one knows what the update was?? I'm super curious to find out, and I'm certain I'd never be able to notice it in my own game! I'm just not observant enough, haha

That's good news, didn't securom cause lag in build buy mode for some?

Not sure but securom is old and bad .. so very happy myself cause it was the reason I didn't install it.

It also gave issues with Win 10 as Win 10 doesn't like the old DRM programs.

Do we have to uninstall and re install the UC or is the patch going to remove it?

SecuROM is indeed old... I associate it most with Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. The spinning CD icon... bleh.

Thanks for the info crinrict. Though I am not sure how you got that out of the official notes. O.o Good for anyone just installing it. I already chucked that a while ago.

I find it ironic they blocked Leefish links because of linking how to remove it, then they remove it themselves...

Updated for me too. Now my resolution is only showing 800x600 and the old fix isn't working. Anyone else having this problem?

I don't think you need to reinstall the UC. Just remove securom. I didn't have it installed before so I don't know for sure.

They had removed it from Sims 3 before so it was pure hope that 'being more inline with Origin' would mean exactly that. I downloaded and tested and there was no secuRom on my computer so that was proof enough for me that that was what it meant

I had it briefly but after running the graphic rules maker that fixed it. Also I had to be in a household to Change it and not in map view.

One thing I Have noticed since running the removal tool and letting the game update, there’s no lag in buy mode!

To everyone who have made the update and have mod (like desk locator, sims blender or Cyjon's mod) Any problem ? *Don't want to get rid of my mod but do want to get rid of securom*
Edit: It remove securom from the game and from the computer or just from the game and then i'll have to remove securom from my computer myself ?

Uh oh... Oh Jules1111, I may need you again! I won't have time to update until this weekend probably. Hopefully I won't have to go back to the 800x600 resolution. Jules1111 got my game looking AMAZING. I want it to stay amazing!

Answering my now question: you have to remove securom yourself then.
Now i'm going to start the game to see if there is any problem and if securom come back after.
Edit: After removing securom and starting the game, securom do not come back !
Now, the resolution have changed, but not like @taffy550, it's full screen now (before i had a small black line on the right and on the left, not anymore), gosh the game load so quickly now and no lag in buy or build mod
I just have to download the shadow fix now (black square under sims are back) but everything is perfect !

Finally!!!

So excited to see they have finally removed SecuRom!

After writing my tutorial on Leefish I was always hoping one day EA Games would fix this mess.

So happy that everyone's game will be fixed and no more lag in build/buy mode! Now to get them to fix the resolution problem hehehe

I just tried it on my husbands pc and when I click on the sims 2 Uc icon on desktop it now opens origin It never used too.
