So I never really planned to buy Vampires, partly because my main save doesn't contain any supernatural anyway so I never really felt the need to have them and partly because I often read that vampires keep spawning in your game like almost every night, and I don't want my main save to be corrupted by vampires.
But then I read some threads about Caleb Vatore and looked at some teasers out of curiosity, and now I inadvertently find myself wanting them after all.
Thing is, like I said, my main save doesn't contain supernatural nor do I want it to, and if vampires kept spawning in my game every night and being obnoxious little suckers it would kind of ruin immersion for me. So, are vampires really that bad? Or, to phrase it differently, are they (still) definitely worth it?

But then again I don't have vampires so don't take my word for fact
I'm pretty sure that if you have MCCC you can turn that off. Apart from that, they don't really bother my sims
The Road goes ever on and on And I must follow, if I can,
Until it joins some larger way,
Where many paths and errands meet.
Do you have a mod installed that makes these sort of drama events happen more? Vlad has never one time returned to suck the life force from my Sim more than once. It just doesn't happen. If you put up some garlic and maybe get high skills in vampire lore, you can fight one and they don't return. I just don't get where people say they come back every night, it just doesn't happen that way in my game. First family, first time, yes, if I open the door to let him in but never if I don't. And he never comes back a second time. Caleb and his sister aren't blood drinkers from humans, so I just don't get it.
ETA: OP, I will say it again as I am a big fan of vampires in the games, I turned two Sims in my game and honestly I hardly ever see them anymore, at first I saw them turn while they were walking down the street about three days later, but since then and all the patches I'm hard pressed to find them anywhere at any community lot. The game may generate one or two more for jobs but they are also the first to get culled when the game culls townies every Sunday.
ETA: Anyone knocking at your Sims door after dark is a vampire, just don't open the door, you will never be bothered.
Note, my Sims don't live in FH, maybe that makes a difference, I don't know.
Before that, were you letting in strangers?
I have found, though, if you want to prevent them from breaking into your home lots and feeding on your sims, locking your doors at night definitely helps. There is a power that some vampires have that allows them to come in anyway, but not all of them have it, so it really makes a difference.
Vampires are amazing.
Don't know what that has to do with vampires invading my world and house, but no, my sims are not social people. Vary rarely do they talk to passerby's. I even cancel the welcome wagon cause I don't want random sims in my house. Generally I keep my doors locked to only allow household and employees inside.
This game works a lot like TS2 with 'triggers'. Letting in a vampire is a trigger for them to come back later to bite somebody. It's all in your control if you never let in those total strangers who just show up at night.

Well, my sims were getting attacked 2 to 3 times a week and wouldn't even have met the vampires. It was always Vlad, Caleb, or his sister, I forget her name, starts with an L. And I never let sims in my house because my biggest pet peeve is sims just helping themselves to my sims computers instead of visiting, so we just don't have visitors.
It's a fun and interesting pack for that.
What is REALLY annoying though, is normal sims constantly discussing vampires in every context, the options always there in friendly social (especially since space is limited the more social options we get), and researching vampire lore always, always, taking up one of the two wish slots for all my sims regardless of traits or lifestyle.
I wouldn't mind these happening for sims who have indeed researched vampire lore, and for the social options to be unlocked by that skill.
But, as is, every sim is obsessed with vampires and no amount of me trying to keep them lowkey will change that.
I have even memorized the specific dialogue animations sims do when talking about vampires, that's how much it enrages me.
When Caleb and his sister are concerned, most I do with them is make my Sims learn the cure and have them get cured to normal Sims.
