Hello,

I made two toddlers (male and female) in CAS by using the genetics option. I aged the toddlers to young adult and then deleted the parent sims from the household. The female toddler was a charmer while the male was inquisitive.



The female constantly has a sad moodlet from not socializing enough. Well, she is working on the Friend of the World aspiration and has been chatting with everyone she runs into.

Socializing, calling the sadness hotline, crying it out, etc will not remove the moodlet. The only thing that gets rid of it is the moodlet solver reward. I am not sure how long the effects of the potion lasts as she has just consumed it.

The male had a moodlet from the toddler inquisitive trait but it goes away after a bit.

Just wondering if this a bug.

No third party cc. I have all the game/stuff packs and expansions installed and I am currently patched.

Try testing to see if the moodlet returns . It may not return now that your sim has had the potion and removed the moodlet.
It may have been a result of aging the toddlers in cas, and just have been a glitch.

@rosemow It returned in less than sim 24 hours. She was fine until she went to sleep and now it is back.

@rosemow No, she only has the adult traits I picked in CAS. (Active/high metabolism, kleptomaniac and insane) She wasn't played as a toddler.

Try using the cheats
testingcheats true
Press enter
traits.remove_trait Charmer
Press enter
traits.equip_trait Charmer
Press enter
traits.remove_trait Charmer
Press enter
Then see if that helps.

If the moodlet remains, try using this cheat to remove it
Sims.remove_all_buffs

Also, repairing the game may help. To do that, right click on the sims 4 picture in Origin and click repair.


Try resetting your sims 4 folder and see if that helps. To do that, move your sims 4 folder ( that is in Documents -Electronic Arts - then the sims 4 folder is there ) to the desktop. Then start the game, and a new sims 4 folder will be generated. Exit the game and then copy back the "options.ini" or " options " file and the "saves" , "screenshots" "tray" "custom music " and "mods" folders from the desktop sims 4 folder to the new sims 4 folder, replacing the new generated file/ folders with the old file/folders from the desktop sims 4 folder.

The cheat Sims.remove_all_buffs is the one that worked. I'll play and see if it returns after she goes to sleep again.

I raised a charmer Sim, but I aged her up normally (let her go through the entire stage before aging up). I'll monitor and see if there are any issues in childhood -- maybe the quick age up in CAS instead of actual gameplay threw a wrench in the system.

I actually played this sim as a toddler in another save and she grew to young adult and she didn't have any issues with the emotion sticking. But I didn't play her very long before that save (challenge) was completed.

Well, my sim is an young adult but look....she still is showing the charmer trait: This is what her brother....who is in the same household as her knows about her.

It sounds like it is the same issue as is in the thread on the AHQ EA site. This would be the reason the sim had the moodlet.

the reset buffs worked for me as well. thank you. I did the aging up in CAS just for a peek, but aged back down to what he was supposed to be. That might have done it, but I did the same with his brother and didn't have the issue so not sure. Both boys know the other is "wild", so maybe they still have their toddler traits?

It is good that the cheat to reset buffs helped with your issue. You could use a cheat to remove the wild trait

traits.remove_trait trait_Toddler_Wild

It affects children who age-up naturally from charmer toddlers, too. Even though they are 'making friends' while at school, they get the 'sad' moodlet. Same at home, they'll be chatting with family members and phoning others, and still get this moodlet. I have stopped giving toddlers the 'charmer' moodlet. I now just ignore the moodlet. It seems to come and go no matter how much the Sim is socializing. It's not fun. You could change your Sim's traits in Create-a-Sim, type cas.fulleditmode with Testing Cheats On.

Wow so we can’t use Charmer and we can’t use Wild because they’re both bugged.

Any other toddler traits giving people problems?

To me it is not a game breaker. It is an issue as it is not supposed to happen.
No Toddlers in my game right now. If it does come up I will add my voice to the AnswersHQ thread that @Rosemow shared above.

I know this post is old but hopefully it can still help someone. Re-age the sim back to a toddler and do the socialization interactions with any sim until the moodlet is gone. Re-age them back up and it should be gone for good.

Yeah I had the same issue with my toddler[boy] who I modified to a child via CAS. The moodlet is permanently there for him.
