Detective stuck on a case

My Detective is stuck. He has 7 clues to arrest his suspect. but every time I send him out, the suspect is never around, never shows up. this happens every time now. Is there a way of starting a new case. It's always there on the clue board.

Hello.
Other simmers are having this issue also.
Try seeing if another sim that doesn't fit the description may be the suspect. Simmers have been having this issue, that sometimes the suspect doesn't turn out to be like the description/clues given.

It would be good to post feedback on this thread on the AHQ EA site that refers to the issue

I was having this issue. In my sim's notebook it said the suspect was a teen with red coloured hair. Turns out the suspect was a teen with black coloured hair

If what rosemow suggested doesn't work, and you don't want to cheat, try quitting the job and joining it again. You'll be demoted but at least it should let you start a new case.

Seems like when a new ep comes out the get to work careers break. I ve heard the doctor career is also broke again.

Haha, I thought the title seemed like the plot of a generic murder mystery
Whenever I had the wrong clues, I usually just pick the townie on the lot that I don't recognize and hope for the best If I don't see them, usually the second or third time I hit the area works.

I had this problem when I played the Detective career, and I tried arresting sims that were close to the description, but I ended up being demoted because it was a faulty arrest. So that was a bad idea.

So far I've been just bypassing the APBs and just doing normal things around the station to advance
