Unbind Voodoo Doll?

Not sure if I have a glitch with unbinding a voodoo doll or not, since this is the first time I have used one. Could someone confirm for me at what level of the mischief skill the option to unbind should show?
My sim was level 6 when I had him buy a voodoo doll and bind it to another sim. He is now level 8 but no unbind option appears. I've had him summon the sim to which it is bound to his home lot, tried just inviting the sim to the home lot and even checked for the interaction while around the sim at a park but only have the "do voodoo" or "place in world" interactions appear. Is my sim still not at a high enough level of mischief? I was under the impression the option to unbind would appear at level 5 from the guide on SimsVIP and he was beyond that when I initially got the doll. I'm not sure if something has changed, if my game has glitched, or if the unbind option for the doll isn't functioning as it should. Input as to what I should be seeing, or if I'm doing something wrong, would be appreciated.
BTW, I have tried deleting the slot 1 auto saves and the localthumbcache.package files to see if it made a difference but it didn't. I haven't tried a game repair because I haven't been having other problems but can easily do so if anyone else can tell me their doll is showing the unbind option. I can't roll back to an earlier save before the sim bought the voodoo doll because I didn't think about the fact I might hit a problem with unbinding and have saved too many times since its purchase.

I am just checking that you are with the other sim that it is bound to and that you have tried clicking on
the "unbind " interaction on the voodoo doll whilst it is in your inventory

Yes, I am with the sim that is bound to the doll and the problem is that there isn't an unbind interaction showing up at all. It's totally absent.

I am just checking that you are looking at the voodoo doll in your inventory, and not trying to find an option on the sim to unbind it?
Have you tried binding it to another sim, and are you able to do that?

I have just been checking a little more and read some information on another site. The sim who you have bound it to has to be not working, for the unbind interaction to come up. If you have a sim that you bound it to and it is during their normal work hours, this may be causing the issues?

I will double check in game but I don't think I called the bound sim during her work hours. She is a sim I play in another household so I am familiar with her work hours. I really want the unbind feature to work because the bound sim is now an elder and I don't want her to die while bound to a voodoo doll. I don't even know what happens in that scenario, i.e., doll bound to a ghost? Sure wish I had used an NPC for this but hindsight is 20/20, lol.

Repairing the game may help.
Try resetting your sims 4 folder and see if that helps. To do that, move your sims 4 folder ( that is in Documents -Electronic Arts - then the sims 4 folder is there ) to the desktop. Then start the game, and a new sims 4 folder will be generated. Exit the game and then copy back the "options.ini" file and the "saves" , "screenshots" "tray" "custom music " and "mods" folders from the desktop sims 4 folder to the new sims 4 folder, replacing the new generated file/ folders with the old file/folders from the desktop sims 4 folder

I had one too and couldn't unbind it. But I could place it on the floor, go into buy mode and sell/delete it, and it was unbound. It is not much simoleons to buy a new one, if you want it.
It would be good to do what Simsister2004 thoughtfully suggested to do to unbind the doll. Perhaps save the game before doing it in case there is an issue doing it.

@rosemow , if I try to delete the doll I will do a "save as" before taking that step. Thank you again for trying to help.
It would be good to do the " save as" before deleting the doll. You can then go back to your previous save if issues arise. Deleting the doll may help with your issue.
