Dogs for me. My mom is allergic to cats, so we never had one. But to be honest, as a child I liked cats more, and sadly, didn't give my childhood dog the love she deserved (don't worry, the rest of my family did!). Toward the end of her life I had a change of heart, and then the next dog we got I was in love. There is no turning back for me.
